The restaurant presents a rustic vibe and has all the college flags you can imagine making it an ideal place for both families and friends. It has a ton of seating especially for large parties. Huck's specializes in traditional Southern dishes, offering favorites like fried catfish, crawfish nachos, and shrimp and grits. The prices are reasonable, making it a great choice for casual dining without breaking the bank. Huck's Place offers a genuine taste of Southern hospitality combined with delicious home-cooked meals.

Huck's Place is good. I would say it's a solid 3.5 stars for what WE tried. There very well could…read morebe a lot of great options as the menu def has a little something for everyone. Service was swift and prompt. The vibe in the place is like elevated sports bar. I enjoyed the decor, TVs and lighting. For the food: Red Beans and Rice - 4 out 5. Star of the show. Great flavor, very well seasoned. Wish I had bowl instead of a cup. Gumbo - 2.5 out of 5. Seemed heavy on file. The color was right, but it felt lighter than I'm used to. Lacked some flavor, but salt made it more floral. Caesar - 3 out of 5. Fairly pedestrian. Nothing outstanding. Dressing a little too sweet, mayo-ey. Ribeye - 3.5 out of 5. May not be a popular opinion, but it loses all the flavor marks for me cause of that "jus" they put on it. WAY to sweet. Distracts from an otherwise awesome cut of beef. Medium Rare was cooked perfectly though and pieces without the sweet sauce were tender and delicious. Special review: Loved the fries. Sucker for that almost battered taste. Crispy and fluffy.

I wish I did - but I eat like a child . The salad was the best salad. I believe I've had in 10 years honestly I don't know what they did to make it so good , but it had croutons and it had homemade buttermilk dressing on it. It was just it was the cheese on it. I don't know what kind of cheese they use in this place, but it is heavenly! . I love the atmosphere of this place - it's in the old sneaky Pete location & is like a little "hole in the wall "got a lot of really cool things on the wall , decor is rustic .the services were amazing & im pretty sure one was an owner (?) bc he cared that we were happy ! (i'm not sure if any of you noticed the decline in service industry lately but it's pretty bad - most people act like they're doing you a favor to serve you) I know he had some red beans and rice on the side ( I tried I just wanted to add that their salad is to die for. However, I'll never know how good it was because nobody acknowledged me when I arrived. I stood there for a few minutes and members of the staff were chatting with each other and paying no mind to my existence. I then figured I would just sit myself down and waited for a little while at the table and no one came over to me, so I just up and left. I'm giving them two stars instead of one because this place looks like it could be wonderful, if only they paid attention to their customers.

The…read moreclosest thing to true Cajun cooking you're going to find without actually being back in South Louisiana. If you've ever had authentic Cajun food, you'll recognize it immediately. No shortcuts, no watered-down versions. Just straight, legit flavor. The owners are from Metairie, right off the north side of Lake Pontchartrain, and it shows in everything they put out. They've got both cooked and live crawfish, which matters if you actually know what a proper boil looks like. I have zero connection to this place. Found it by accident. I'll be back regularly. Cajun food sits just behind Korean for me, and this hit that nerve hard. Took me straight back to Lafourche Parish and my stepmother's cooking. That kind of food sticks with you. And yeah, it's in a gas station. Ignore that. If you know anything about New Orleans, some of the best po'boys you'll ever eat come out of spots just like that. Bottom line. This place isn't a novelty. It's a find.

They have a great rapport with customers. They also know how to cook a heck of a meal. The sausage has incredible flavor and is so smokey. Makes a great poboy.
