After reading a few online blogs, we decided to try Crusty's for their burgers and sandwiches. They offer a fully halal menu. They were a bit out of the way from the main tourist sights in Montreal but we thought it was worth a shot. They ended up running out of burgers, so we ended up trying some of their other sandwiches. Overall, the portions and flavors were decent, and nothing too impressive. The ambiance was the highlight of the visit. The burgers seem to be the real selling point, so it may be worth revisiting.

Tasty and delicious sums it up. I almost missed this spot! I originally went for a more famous…read moreplace, but the long line + rain sent me to Dunn's on a hotel recommendation--and what a win. Just a 5-minute wait while they set up for my wheelchair. The smoked meat platter was tender and full of flavor, the coleslaw was fantastic, and that warm molten chocolate chip cookie with ice cream? Next level. I came back the next day for the carbonara--loved it--and again today for fish & chips. Consistently great food, efficient and friendly bilingual service, and always busy but never a long wait. One week left... and I already know I'll be back a few more times #tysadventures26 #Dunns #Poutine #SpringBreak26

I heard that smoked meat was something you should eat while in Canada. My BF and I were exploring…read moreOld Montreal and needed a lunch spot, so a quick Yelp search helped us find Smoking Meat. We ordered the smoked meat trio and the poutine with smoked meat. The smoked meat trio includes a sandwich, cole slaw, and water. I've never had Canadian smoked meat before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought it would be a lot smokier, but I'm glad it wasn't. It reminded me of NYC corned beef sammies. The poutine with the smoked meat was also great. This was definitely enough food for two people, especially since the poutine is so heavy. We actually thought we ordered the smoked meat plate, which includes all of the items from the trio, plus a pickle and more french fries. When we asked them about it, we realized that we probably just ordered the wrong thing. However, they brought us out some extra fries (which we definitely didn't need), but it was really nice of them to do so. It was a nice textural change from the gravy-soaked fries we had been eating. Overall, it was a great meal - but definitely not something that I could eat that often.

This restaurant is over rated…read more Although they are the only restaurant in the area within the older town of Montreal, near the Notre dame, I didn't think their smoked meat was as great as I tasted in the outskirts of montreal. The smoked meat was salty, oily and expensive, the poutine wasn't the best either. Such a small portion that was expensive, probably because it was in a tourist area. Don't think I'd eat here again unless I can't get out of the older montreal area because there's other places much less oily and more reasonable.

Pooh had the Short Rib Mac & Cheese and I had the Super Smoked Meat sandwich and replaced my fried with mashed potatoes. Pooh's lunch was delicious (I had a couple of bites) The mac and cheese/meat combo was amazing. I find it difficult to find a good Mac and cheese in a restaurant well we found it here! My sandwich was super-sized and filling. The mashed potatoes were very tasty; I think there was garlic in them. I removed one star because of the price. It was an expensive lunch and there was no alcohol.

We walked in and were immediately approached by a server so we asked to sit by the window. We both ordered a Steerburger with fries and coleslaw. The curly fries were just like we remembered: crispy & light. Staff was friendly and accommodating l, but the initial server who took our orders forgot to tell us he was either going on break or had finished for the day because another server approached us later to take our order!
