Unique little spot. Service was okay, prices were okay, and food taste was okay as well. Nothing amazing, nothing bad. Just sort of felt like an average experience. Which isn't bad at all. I just would liked a little more actual meat on my spicy sausage poutine that I got. Not a bad fallback option to keep in mind, but not sure if I'd return as a first choice.
The front staff was so nice and amicable. They got my order and I was set! I would arret and come back again! Love the sausage one! Stuffed with sausage reminding me of Vienna sausages. I like the cheese curd with gravy!
Solid pub spot with good Canadian beer options. I really liked their beer selection; it had a nice variety of local brews which paired well with the food. The food was just what you'd hope for, tasty and satisfying without being over the top. The only downside was they don't offer tap water, which feels a little annoying, especially after a long day walking around the city. Be ready to pay for bottled water if you're thirsty. Other than that, solid experience. The spot itself is beautiful, situated inside an old building with classic stone walls.

Poutine is a classic Canadian dish, particularly in the Province of Quebec, it's a french fries topped with cheese curds and gravy. It's a simple yet satisfying dish that is popular throughout Canada and beyond. It's my first time in Montreal and my friend's friend suggested him to have this dish. There's nothing special about it except of that toppings on the French fries. The service was good and the ambiance was nice. A glass of beer is perfect to pair with the Poutine.
Overall, this wasn't a good experience. As we walked in, I commented on how nice the outdoor courtyard was. We were seated and having looked at the menu out front, we pretty much knew what we wanted to order. We waited at least 10 minutes, and a waiter went to the table next to us which was seated at least five minutes after we were. He then headed over to a table with three young women. Drinks are delivered to the table next to us when he finally approaches our table, we order, the drinks arrive quickly and not too long after that part of the order arrives. When I ask where my meal was, the food runner acts annoyed. She looks at her ticket and tells me nothing was ordered. I told her I ordered a smoke meat sandwich. Ten minutes later, I still had no food, and the waiter came over to the table to ask how was everything, I asked him "Where is my food?" This seemed to anger the waiter, and he told me that had not ordered anything, that we had ordered the chicken sandwich and poutine fries to share. Both of us immediately said that I had ordered something which seemed to make the waiter even more angry. I knew that language was probably playing into this and said that we had talked about sharing the poutine, but I still wanted the sandwich. He was very argumentative and finally said that he would put the order in for the sandwich. As he headed into the kitchen, he abruptly turned and looked at me while saying something. I can only imagine what he said. The food was good but the service, if you can call it that, was off-putting and made me feel uncomfortable.
A cute little place, upstairs. We were immediately greeted by a very pleasant young woman and drink orders taken immediately. Tried the poutine (with onions) and adored this. So good. And they were very generous with the onions! We also shared a smoked meat sandwich which was delicious; lots of meat! Really enjoyed everything about this place.
Came here very recently on a recommendation that was made to our carpooling driver, to hit up this establishment. after a quick walk up a two part staircase, we were in the restaurant and instantly we were asked to "close the door!" by fellow customers. This tiny, upstairs Resturant was completely packed to the gills, but one four seat table was present for our party of three. We were approached almost instantly by one of the waiters who flawlessly switched from Quebec French to english and back, took our collective order and was on their way. My timing was that I needed the food in less then 40 mins, and much to my surprise, and this being my breakfast meal, it came within ten minutes of ordering. Whoever is making this poutine is really doing the restaurant a disservice, because the amount of sauce that comes with the poutine is so much so, the "bowl plate" is slimed to the degree, where it slimes the table, which is why our tables were sticky. The flavors were phenomenal, the food was hot, and the cheese was squeaky, all pillars of a good meal, mixed with the super quick service, I've spent more time at Ontario ONroutes on the way to Montréal then the food serving here. Would absolutely come back, but have to take a point off for the sauce, which causes more work for the staff in cleaning and a odd situation for customers
Montreal Poutine was the place we choose to have dinner at while visiting Old Montreal. They are located up a flight of stairs on the second story of a building. We ordered a fried chicken poutine and a smoked meat sandwich. Service was lacking for me. Tap water is not served here. They make you purchase bottled water. The fried chicken poutine had pieces of chicken, French fries, gravy and cheese curds. It was good and tasty. I had heard that smoked meat was something that I needed to try, so I ordered it. The meat was sliced thin. It wasn't as tasty as some of the pastrami sandwiches I've had. Montreal Poutine was an good place. Poutine is in their name. I'd stick with their poutine.
This was our first stop in Montreal! The place is small and service was great! It really set the tone for our trip, our waitress told us that it's customary for them to come tableside for payment, they will not walk away with your credit card in a black book with the receipt (a great tip for us Americans!) We had the smoked meat and spicy sausage, they were both huge portions and easily split between four people.
The Poutine was very good! We had the smoked meat poutine and Roasted chicken poutine. Both were excellent and worth it. Service was very fast. The beer, a Sleeman Lager was delicious and really complemented the poutine. Service was outstanding and the staff friendly. Worth a visit when you are in Montreal. No free water but bottled water is available, and if you consider that Old Montreal was first settled in 1642 I wouldn't drink water from the tap either. Plenty of tables along with outside seating.
Great oasis in a super touristy area in Old City. The vibe was great. The service was spectacular. The beer selection was great. The food was delicious and portions were giant. We ordered the smoked meat a.k.a pastrami on rye and traditional poutine. Both were excellent. We will definitely be back next time we are in Montreal.
What a hidden gem! I'm so glad I walked by and noticed an incredible patio in the back. I loved this patio and ambiance so much that I came here twice, one during the day and once at night. All outside. Surrounded by buildings, which make the 4 walls, this is a lovely outdoor space. Very friendly and attentive service. Great drinks and food. It was one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had, and I loved that it came with bacon. Excellent dressing. I tried both their white sangria and their red sangria and I enjoyed both. Light and refreshing. Full bar and fun signage. Fabulous lighting and cool vibes. I know "poutine" is in the name, but I thought my Poutine was just okay. The fries were a bit soggy and it was overall very heavy. The gravy was heavy. The cheese was good. Huge portions! If you're hungry, this is a great place to be. I loved the lighting at night. Fun music playing all day and evening. Fun 80's and 90's hits. There was also a large figure of E.T hidden above as part of the decor. Really fun place to eat, drink, and hang out.

My first poutine experience was tasty. I won't claim expert level but I do know that this was better than other than I had this week! Great service from staff and chill vibes in the restaurant. Only downside was that I was seated away from the windows at a single table and may have rather people watched from the window- but that's a small complaint. read more

Good atmosphere, not quiet but not loud. Menu is a QR code which should tell you a lot (not good or bad). Got an espresso martini, wasn't very strong but that's okay. Got the normal burger and normal poutine. The burger was fire, the side fries were fire as well. Coleslaw was mid, kinda tasted like just cut up veggies. Poutine was really good as well 8/10, the cheese was good, fries crisp, and the gravy was peppery. Service was really good as well, frequent but not bothersome. Would recommend this place for a quick meal. read more

This place was a great spot to try some authentic Montreal style poutine with smoked meat! We shared this order and ate every last bit of it! Our severs were excellent and bilingual. Great decor, adorable entrance and poutine inspired cuteness all around! We would defiantly eat here again. read more
Visited this place while on a friends trip and I very mix feeling about this place. 1. The stairwell as soon as you came it was kind of small. I have a smaller if you had a party of eight like we did pretty concerned about the safety hazards of the people coming in and out. 2. Ambience of the place was OK. It was pretty impressed with the waitress. She actually remember eight orders. Verbatim repeat them back to us once she went to place the order. Please can't use a little bit more lighting though in the area we will seated in. 3. Food came out pretty fast and we are pretty impressed with that. Also, the flavor of everything was excellent. 4. So the reason why I'm giving the three stars is that if you're looking for a place to stop and really quickly to get something to eat and just chilling, relax with friends, that should be the place don't go expecting something extravagant. read more

Walked in on a Friday evening for some late night snacking. We did not have a wait and were seated immediately. It is very a small and quaint place. We got the poutine and a beer. The staff was very helpful in helping to select our food. The poutine was really good- the fries were done very well, and the gravy was delicious (plus it is vegetarian) read more

Nice little hidden pub in old Montreal. The poutine was fine, but not amazing, especially given the name is literally "Montreal Poutine." I did also think it was a bit wild that they charge a steep price for water. The portions are large, and the gravy is quite heavy--I'd recommend splitting orders if you're getting poutine, we could've gotten 2 orders for the 3 of us and had leftovers. read more

This place is such a hidden gem kinda! It is in the middle of Old Montreal and you would think they'd be crowed and would have a huge line up, but we were pleasantly surprise we were able to walk right in at around 5pm. The place had a really nice courtyard and a vibrant inviting atmosphere. You do feel in some sort of French patio with the stone walls and wooden railing, different from the standard bar establishments. They take pride on Poutine. We shared the Montreal meat poutine and it was really good! Portions are a little on the large end, so we would suggest you split one between two people. We also got a few rounds of their rose and white sangria pitchers which had a good ice to liquid ratio and were really tasty. Service was friendly, but they did feel a little overwhelmed with how busy they were. Overall a good place to hang and enjoy a break from all the walking. With tasty poutine and good pitchers to share amongst your party. Pro-tip - when you are seated in the patio, look up right above the entrance and you will find a lil surprise. read more
We used to come to Montreal every year, back in the before times. We hadn't been in a couple of years and wanted to satisfy the poutine fix. We've tried several places around the city, and this is on the "acceptable" list, and close to our hotel. The menu is not exceptional but they do have a smoked meat platter with a side of poutine for an up charge. The biggest issue is the service. It's not the worst ever, but it's sub par. The most ridiculous part is that they refuse to provide any free water and every drink is $3.50+. The soda, for that cost, is in a can. The cost is a bit high but also, it's an expensive location. The water issue really annoyed me, since it's extremely atypical and the cost for purchasing a drink is also high. As other reviewers have noted, the food is good, the place isn't dirty, and that's about it. read more

Our son "guilted" us into trying poutine before we leave Montreal. Well thanks Jeff (son) because it was like a plate full of French fry nachos! We decided on the Italian meat sauce with cheese curds poutine.....every bite was delicious. We shared a white beer and the added bonus was the outside courtyard. read more
I figured if I'm in Montreal, I might as well try their poutine! Fortunately, I wasn't disappointed. I had the spicy Italian sausage poutine and it was DELICIOUS! The atmosphere is a.o.k. The servers were nice and friendly, but the only time I got to see my server is when I was served and when it was time to pay the bill *tsk tsk tsk* I tried their lemonade drink and it was very refreshing! I would have taken seconds... Would I come back? Sure! It's close to the Old Port Montreal, great scenery around the area. Love it :-D read more

Ok would be just how I would explain this experience. We saw a lady standing outside the door during our walk and we thought, we could try a poutine. So we followed her upstairs and into this old crickety dine spot where everyone around was enjoying multiple different poutines. We ordered one to share, the spicy italian sausage poutine is what we decided on. It was alright. The sausage definitely had some smokey taste to it and my husband who loves poutine seemed to enjoy it quite a bit. I'm not the biggest poutine fan (I know don't kill the messenger!) so I just ate around the cheese curds to be honest. It was alright and my husband said it was an alright poutine but nothing special. read more

We were starved when we walked in that poutine store, and the girl sat us down. Right after we sat down we already knew whatever to order, and we were tryin so hard to get their attention so we could order. That same girl was flirting with the other male servers literally for the entire time we were there and she did not have time for us. Srsly we were starved and thirsty, and 3 of your servers were flirting all the time and there was one who actually went around and took orders from so many tables, how does this make sense? Poutine was amazing!!! The gravy is so hearty, the fries is so crispy and the cheese curd is literally melting on the top, we finished the entire plate in 10 minutes! We asked them for water and they only had bottle water, it's 2018 now and there are just still restaurants who don't care about protecting the earth, this is little bit disappointing. I heard this place opens up at the terrace during the summer, honestly I would only come back as long as I don't have to deal with slow and bad services anymore. read more
