Joe, the manager, is always very knowledgeable about anything i seem to be working on and they have everything i've needed for all my home projects, so far. Horrible customer service today by Brittany the cashier and Joe the manager! We went to check out and my KIDS had taken off their masks so she shoved a box of disposable masks at my 8 year old. She started to argue with my husband about it and told him that maybe she should come to our house and crap in our living room. How is that even the same thing as wearing a mask? I then took my kids out of the store to let him finish checking out. Brittany wanted to keep arguing with him and he then told her he was a veteran so she would apply the discount. She then tells him that he doesn't deserve the discount. He is a combat veteran so why doesn't he deserve the discount just like every other veteran or military person? Who is she to make that decision?The manager Joe was called and we were basically told the employee did nothing wrong and he would not do anything about her behavior because he wasn't there to witness her say these things. Why doesn't she go and fight for our country and then she can talk.. Also then my husband was trespassed. They would rather trespass people who stand up to their horrible employees than deal with the issues. I'v never seen such harsh mask requirements and even for people who medically can't wear them but Ace will not serve ANYONE Who does not wear one. We will just shop somewhere else that treats their customers with respect. There are plenty of other place around town. This is just another example of our freedoms being taken away. And employees thinking they can treat people however they want. Stay far away from this store. read more

I looked in several stores and then went to the Rockhand in Helena and found exactly what I needed, two clerks took time to talk to me about the products I was buying, and the person who checked me out was great! She politely told a woman who came in without a mask, that masked were required to shop in the store. Good for her! I felt like the store cared about their customers. I should have gone here first! The best customer service around! This hardware store appears small but I've found that their selection often surpasses the big box stores down the road. The staff is knowledgable and helpful with everything from garden supplies to plumbing problems. Instead of sending me to aisle 12, they take the time to walk me to the product and ensure that I find exactly what I need. read more

I went into this store today and was surrounded by the mask enforcement Nazis. I explained to the lady at the country I have a medical condition that meets the mandate exclusion. She then calls out a "code 7" and 3 store employees confront me about not wearing a mask. I explain again and they say there is a "store policy" that everyone has to wear a mask. Then state they will not help me to which I say I haven't asked for help. Then I continue to look for the item I was looking for. By the way I was the only customer on the gardening side of the store. I am fallowed and further harasser and told they would not check our any items I wanted to purchase. Then I am asked to leave. I have a heart condition having had Two Open Heart Surgeries, Now burdened with a pacemaker and an artificial heart valve. Which makes wearing a mask uncomfortable for breathing, which can produce lightheadedness and possible fainting. I have a condition called Hypertrophic cardio myopathy which can result in sudden death and often does. I served my country and am a veteran and if this is what our country is coming to then I made a mistake by protecting those who would allow us to live like we are. The Hardrock Ace Hardware is part of the problem and it's employees need their collective heads examined. They have lost my business for ever, and anyone who ever asks me for a place to buy hardware I will tell them anyplace but Ace. read more

This is a great local hardware store with an incredible inventory. Started stocking home brew supplies in 2015, which made the store even better. Friendly super helpful staff - cuts down on shopping time compared to box stores. read more
