Uber is cheaper and faster if going from Rochester airport to Mayo or Rochester hotel. As often happens, Delta and United change flights at the last minute. Though no fault of your own, Rochester shuttle won't credit you if you have to cancel. Shuttle came, driver did not announce and did not verify passengers. Did not stand in front of the RST desk as I was standing 10ft from it - stood in front competitors desk (Groome). It was a light load, so the driver took off without calling out my name. I walk up at 2:10 and ask if shuttle is running late? Tells me I missed it and that the driver called out my name repeatedly. Get put on following Shuttle, driver comes in early, calls out "Rochester" at the desk, verifies three people (10 people standing there) and heads out to the shuttle. Lady asks if she's is on the list, driver says yes without asking her name. This is supposed to be a full shuttle and I got the last seat, but there are 2 empty seats - so I imagine there are two more people out there who have to wait an hour. Drivers need to confirm every passenger and make an effort to locate those who are missing. Take 5 minutes and put in the effort and save everyone an hour waiting for the next shuttle. read more

I would not use this service again. They don't care about their customers. They told me I'd have free home service and a cab would be ready to take me when I arrive at St Mary's. Then the cab doesn't show up. When I called them, the guy on the phone couldn't care less. Need a better driver, especially early morning getting to the airport. The poor guy had so many issues picking people up and following his map app. He was an hour late picking me up and late picking up others. I at a few points in time had to point out where he was trying to get to since I had my map app up and running. Horrible service. Driver came to pick us up and asked for cash payment. I actually thought he was joking. When I told him I had already paid this and showed him my bank account withdrawal and confirmation from Rochester Shuttle he called in on it and the woman was extremely rude. She would not listen to me and kept saying thats what it says here that you are paying in cash and owe 98 dollars. She continued on not wanting to listen at all while my daughter and her service dog stood outside after a hospital visit. She decided to finally take the confirm number that I had FROM the driver as she refused to speak with me while all of the people sat in the van (including the people who owed the money for him and his wife) being delayed to the airport and she found the information that Indeed was a mistake and the $98 dollars was for the man who was already sitting quietly in the van not speaking up that it was he who owed the money and made dishonest excuses for the representative on the phone. The driver made no apology until getting in the van as I had said something, was not honest about the situation on the phone and the woman at Rochester shuttle had nothing say other than the demand of money for the inconvenience and the rudest, unprofessional, and in compassionate experience I have ever had. I used this service for the 1st time this week. It was kinda up n down. Some of the reps were a bit rude some were nice e on the phone. I did not get my confirmation email so had to call back. They had the wrong info. I was told I would get picked up at 1115am..then it went to 1125 and they finally arrived at 1133. The driver was nice, van was clean and I made it to the airport in time. If hard pressed I may use them again but would make sure I had extra time being they are not punctual and always a chance that may cause you to miss your flight read more

Quite possibly the BEST shuttle service I have ever encountered. Amazing counter service and amazing driver! They went above and beyond to help us--when the Minneapolis airport QuickRide driver refused to bring my sister from terminal 2 to terminal 1 because it was "not her job" the young man at the Rochester Shuttle Service (RSS) counter (wish I had gotten his name) did everything he could to explain to the QuickRide driver that she just needed to bring someone to terminal 1--he spent 10 minutes trying to explain that driving someone from terminal 2 to terminal 1 was all she had to do. Still, the MSP driver refused to do it. Jason (RSS driver) stood up and said he would pick up my sister at terminal 2 as we were the only two people on the shuttle. It definitely was not his job to go back to terminal 2. We have used this service several times in the past back and forth between MSP and Rochester. We had them scheduled for a 7PM service last night. When our flight from Montana was delayed, we called from Montana to switch to the later 8PM shuttle. The dispatcher who took our call, switched us to the 8AM...that shuttle had already run. How she could even schedule us on to a service that was already past is an issue alone. When we arrived into MSP, we gathered our luggage and proceed to the meeting location, that is when we were informed that we were NOT on the 8PM shuttle, but had been scheduled for the 8AM in error. The 8PM was full and so was the 9PM. We tried to get on the competitor shuttles, but they were full as well. When I called the dispatcher and explained that we had been erroneously booked on the AM ride, he laughed. I had to tell him it wasn't funny and we were now stranded. Their solution was to send a cab FROM Rochester to pick us up, turn around and take us back to Rochester...about a 3 hour process. When I asked why we couldn't use a cab that was literally outside where I was standing, I was told the shuttle service would not pay for those, and I would have to pay out of my own pocket. My solution after learning Rochester Shuttle Service couldn't/wouldn't fix the situation they had created by booking us incorrectly? I called Lyft, waited 9 minutes and paid $10 more for a private car ride. Why I won't use them again? They couldn't correct THEIR ERROR in a timely and efficient manner, laughed at the fact we were now stranded due to THEIR ERROR, and have lost my trust. I CANNOT recommend Rochester Shuttle Service. Not professional! Shuttle was late picking me up, the van was crowded, and we went all over the place took pick up riders; took nearly 2 hours to get to the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport. He was listening to Rush Limbaugh; not appropriate. He then dropped off the entire van of customers at Terminal 1. I asked him if I was at the correct terminal for my airline and he said he had no idea and left. I should have been dropped off at Terminal 2, which then meant I had to take four steep escalators, an airport tram and THEN public transportation (subway) to Terminal 2. 45 minutes it took to get to correct terminal. Shuttle drivers should know what airlines are in which terminal. They do these trips day in and day out! (I would give 0 stars but it will not let me.) read more

Beware, beware!! My hotel booked me on this service to the Rochester airport. When I got on, the bus was full and the driver said he had two more stops to make. I told him there was no more space but he made the stops, adding 3 more passengers. I got out at the last stop and took an Uber. Rochester's shuttles need to be regulated to prevent this intentional overcrowding. Updated, extra negative points for the manager's condescending response, which you can read below, suggesting that my discomfort was just a matter of incorrect perception (mine). Perhaps the van is rated for 11 child passengers, but not full-sized American adults. Im between a three and a four for this service. It really works great every 3 out of five times. I have used this service consistently for the past couple of years for airport and train trips. But it seems that at times the operator on the phone and the drivers dont communicate the pickup times, and i will get a call from the driver the day of stating that they will be leaving early and if i can get there earlier than agreed upon times. One time i got on the phone with a "Mark" and he refused to apologize for the time confusion even though we were told one time, and the driver got their early and left. Aside from that the drivers tend to be friendly, and they usually call you if times change. The buses are clean, there is at times wifi working. Great hours. read more

The van was clean and driver was punctual. Those were the only positive. The driver drove way too fast given the road conditions. There was snow everywhere. All cars were driving on the right lane while we were passing everyone on the left lane. We even hit black ice at a certain point and the van swirled from side to side and that was not enough for the driver to slow down. I highly recommend Rochester Shuttle. Friendly service, they always greet you with a smile. I appreciate the fact that they always say how many passengers we are expecting and the itinerary we are going to make to get everybody. They are never late, and they always call you in case they are late or if they don't see you when they get to your pick up location. There are several partners that give you a discount. Would not recommend relying on this company. I was left stranded at the airport with no refund after booking a shuttle to Rochester that was supposed to leave an hour and a half after my flight landed. After some horrific delays, we landed with only about 10-15 minutes to spare, but by the time we reached a gate and began to disembark, I received a call in which the driver told me the shuttle would not be waiting since everyone was on board, even though it was the last one to Rochester that night. He offered no help and told me to find another way to get there. Luckily I was able to book through Groome Transportation, which not only had better hours, but was cheaper. I wish I had booked through Groome Transportstion from the start. I will not be using Rochester Shuttle Service again and would not recommend it to anyone traveling to Mayo Clinic. read more

Unreliable and random service. We had pre-paid round trip reservations from the airport to our motel but got left due to the previous flight being late and taking up the whole the shuttle and bumping everyone on our flight. We had to ask about 5 times before we were told what happened. The desk clerk was extremely unhelpful, rude and generally useless. Her standard answer was "it will be here in 15 minutes". Over an hour later I see a plain black, unmarked van pull up in the outside lane. No announcement from the desk. Nothing. I didn't think it was our shuttle because it was not marked in any way and was not in the designated location. The driver also did not come in to check a passenger list. Random people were walking up and getting on so I went over to ask the driver who he was with. After being asked several times, he finally said he was with Rochester Shuttle so we got on, with zero seats to spare. Upon arrival at our hotel, the driver tried to charge us even though we were pre-paid. After telling him numerous times, he finally checked his list and found our names. On the return trip, I called the dispatch twice before our departure to verify in no uncertain terms we expected our shuttle to pick us up at the designated time. I had a Lyft ride pulled up on my phone as standby just in case they were a no show again, since the shuttle departure time left very little buffer before our flight. Luckily for them, they showed up at the designated time. But the driver yet again, did not check his passenger list. He picked up one lady who was waiting in the lobby and turned around to leave, ignoring everyone else. We had to run after him and get him to check his list just like the first driver. He grudgingly looked at it then let us board. I'm not sure what the malfunction is with this company but we will NOT use them again. This incompetence is inexcusable. I recently experienced a trip on Rochester Shuttle Service (aka Star Transportation or Limo Star) going to the MSP airport. If I was able to give them zero stars, I would do so. The trip started with the driver arriving 10 minutes late to the pick up point in Rochester. That in itself isn't a big deal as I arrived at the airport in time to catch my flight. The next issue is the bigger issue. When unloading my carry on bag, the driver broke the telescoping handle pulling it off the shuttle. This was the third time this bag had been used (a TravelPro 21" carry on). The driver seemed indifferent to the fact he broke it and just carried on with his day. I reported this to the people at Rochester Shuttle Service. Their response was "Rochester Shuttle Service is not responsible for any lost or damaged luggage or any of the contents of customers luggage, to include, but not limited to, personal electronic items such as ipads, laptop computers, etc." That is their exact quote from their response. So, if you want a drive that is on time, Rochester Shuttle Service isn't the company you should depend on. If you want your luggage to be handled in a way that it's in the same condition before and after the driver handles it, Rochester Shuttle Service isn't the company you should depend on. And if you want a driver that seems to care about the people he's transporting, Rochester Shuttle Service isn't the company you should depend on. In their own words (from Katie of Rochester Shuttle Service), they simply absolve themselves of responsibility for anything that they are in control of and leave the burden on the customer. If you want an on time driver with a company that takes responsibility for the actions of their employees, look elsewhere. I tried contacting them directly prior to this posting for a resolution, but they declined any responsibility for their companies actions. I wouldn't recommend using their service if you're concerned about arriving places on time, having your items not damaged, or even them being interested in the customers they are supposed to be serving. This was my first time using this Rochester shuttle service and it really was an amazing experience from start to finish all the way through. It first started with this woman Michelle at the kahler grand when she was so kind to ask me if I had a Sam's club or Costco membership and informed me that I got a discount. She was really pleasant and made it very easy for me to get my trip to Minneapolis airport. Then I met the driver his name is Dean.. He was incredibly kind because I was running a couple of minutes late and didn't rush me into the shuttle.
