We wouldn't stay anywhere else when we come for our Mayo Clinic checkups. Staff is A+ and consistently courteous and ready to make our stay comfortable. $11 per day parking works out well for us since we aren't of state. Restaurant is excellent. Can walk around this area to a McDonald's, fresh thyme grocery store as well as local businesses and a couple restaurants. If you are able to walk you can also walk to the Gonda/Mayo buildings which takes about 20 minutes. There is also a shuttle available. We walk across the street for appointments in the St Mary's hospital campus. Very convenient. read more

This is actually a pretty great hotel. It kind of stings to be charged extra for parking, but it is what it is. Youre walking distance to a couple of restaurants. Easy to grab breakfast at the drive through next door, and there's a good coffee place just a few blocks away. The in hotel restaurant is decent. There is hopefully a banquet style room open for hanging out if you're here with a group. The staff is super helpful. We found the single king room to be a great fit for us. read more

I don't typically leave reviews for Courtyard hotels since they are mostly all the same (which is kind of the point?) but occasionally one seems warranted and this one is. I was super duper stressed about everything related to bringing my mom to Mayo this week but THIS was the easiest part. They kindly tolerated my calls with questions and my rescheduling. They have a Mayo patient room rate that made it more affordable than usual. They are extremely well set up for patients here in terms of their accessibility options, their free and convenient shuttle to Mayo, their loaner wheelchairs, and even a decent restaurant set up so one doesn't have to leave the hotel to get a meal. All in all, I HOPE I don't have to bring her back to Mayo again (knock on wood) but if I DO, we are 100% planning to stay here again. (One minor note! They don't flip the rooms unless you're there three nights or more (to minimize contact with patients) - a heads up on that would have been good at check-in, just so I knew not to expect a made bed or new towels.) read more

But do not eat in their restaurant, we had room service, the food was very poor, two small meals and an appetizer $68.75. Rooms are good and comfortable but not well equipped. We had a reservation for four people but had to call to get extra towels cause there were only 2 in the bathroom. Parking is extra $11, which is completely unacceptable, they should include this if you're staying with them. Breakfast is not included. The staff was very nice except for one of the girls @ the front desk. Overall a good experience but paying $190 per one night and not even having parking included is a no for me. read more

Love this hotel! Clean, modern, super close to Saint Mary's, and a 15-20 minute walk to the Mayo Gonda building. I have to give a huge shoutout to Leah. I was tempted to go three stars because of the attitude I got from the guy at the front desk but I won't let one a$$ ruin it for others. This is a nice hotel. Very nicely situated across from St. Mary Hospital and within a short walk of some good dining choices. There is also Saint's on Second Bar and Grill in the lobby of the hotel. I had a bowl of very good Chicken and Wild Rice Soup, a very nicely prepared steak w/fried shrimp, grilled asparagus, mashed potatoes and a coke for 25 bux. I 'd say it was worth it. The rooms are nice. I have a king room with a sleeper sofa, nice flat screen TV, closet and the standard modern furnishings. Wireless seems to have a consistent connection but wired (Ethernet) connection works very well. read more

The staff has been friendly and helpful. The property is located just east of US Hwy 52 on 2nd St. SW. Saint Mary's Hospital is directly across the street. If you are in town for a visit to Mayo Clinic, there is a shuttle service from the hotel to the main Mayo Bldg, about 1 mile away. The restaurant in this hotel, Saints on 2nd, is open for lunch and dinner; and offers better than average hotel dining. For breakfast, the Courtyard breakfast nook has a variety of hot and cold food items, as well as Starbucks coffee. Parking is available in the adjacent garage for a charge of $8 per day. read more

Thomas at the front desk went above and beyond. I left an important piece of my nightly breathing device in my room on the morning I hurriedly checked out headed down the road to Methodist hospital for surgery. After looking all around my hospital room (with the help of the kind nurses at Mayo Clinic), at around midnight I called the hotel and reached Thomas. He immediately went into action and investigated the situation. Shortly thereafter he called me back with the good news that the alert maid staff had turned the item in (it is unusual and small). After some discussion, Thomas offered to bring the item to my hospital room in the morning AFTER HIS NIGHT SHIFT. This morning it was delivered to me by the hospital admissions staff-Thomas kept word. I am non-ambulatory but traveling home to California tomorrow. Without that device I likely would be comprised in my care for weeks waiting for a replacement. Thomas clearly understood .The hotel is obviously efficiently run and, as an Ambassador level guest I have no hesitation to highly recommend this hotel. There is no reason not to stay at this Courtyard. Not only is the hotel clean to Courtyard standards, and not only are the beds comfy and the staff generally courteous (minus the testy waiter at the restaurant), but the extras provided for guests are phenomenal. Transportation to and from the airport either via shuttle or bus is free for guests, as is transportation to and from the Mayo Clinic. The guest laundry services, though advertised as coin-op, are not coin operated...and guests are provided with detergent from the front desk. The gym facilities, though small, are spectacularly clean, modern and functional. (There's a Tredmill, elliptical and bike as well as a bench and weights). The only downside is location, but it would be irresponsible of me to fault a hotel that provides free, reliable transportation...especially since the price is right and I picked it knowing full well it wasn't right across the street from the hospital. read more

Staff was great...let us do a 3:00 (!) late check out, because my dad was in surgery, and we have a baby. We took turns watching the baby, so others could be across the street at the hospital. Clean, nice, good pool (although super super small...there wasn't anyone in it when I went in the morning, but if you're looking for a getaway with kids, I would pick another hotel...) This is a fantastic place to stay if you at Mayo or are supporting someone who is, because it it right across the street from the clinic, and down the block from Caribou. That part is super super important in times of stress! Also, the amazing Canadian Honker is a few doors down, ready to meet all of your culinary needs! Anyway, surgery went well, and we even were able to have some family time to boot! Breakfast cost money-there's no free lunch in this joint. read more

We ate at the restaurant. What a huge huge mistake. This was the worst food we have ever ever had!! The cook (definitely not a chef) who we found out was the assistant manager did not give a rip. The table that was also there had to send something back and again nothing from the "assistant manager". The service was that if a fast food restaurant. The only thin good with the food was the French fries. Everything else is not only questionable safety wise but taste wise was a total failure. We will get a bag of chips before going back to this place. Shame on you Marriott!!!!! People are coming here under the worse conditions they sure do not need this. We will stop staying at the Marriott from this point forward and recommend to all our friends and truthfully anyone we meet to avoid them because of this. read more

Clean rooms with built in kitchen and microwave, respectful and helpful staff, and a great complimentary breakfast every day. Not sure what more you could want from a hotel room that you are only in for a few hours every evening before going to sleep. Very close to the Mayo Clinic if you have an appointment. There is an underground tunnel that connects the hotel to the main hospital building, and it is accesible directly from the elevator. A better value by far than other hotels around like the Kahler that charge significantly more for marginally more service. read more

I just returned from Rochester. We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard because it right across the street from St.Mary's Hospital where my daughter was having heart surgery. It couldn't have been a better experience, everything from check in (I asked for an early check in and they had it ready for us) rooms were large, very clean and cozy beds. The staff from the front desk to the housekeeper, servers to the bartender were friendly, courteous and welcoming. The food and beverages were great. I recommend you order the Snicker Pie for desert, it is home made and divine. But the most important thing about this review is, when you are there because you or a family member is having to be at the Mayo Clinic, these folks at this hotel are even most compassionate, patient and kind...so for all of the above I highly recommend this hotel. read more

This hotel is directly across from the Francis building of St. Mary's hospital. The location is fairly close to restaurants. The gym and pool are very small. Only 3 machines and some free weights. The transportation to and from the airport is shotty. Schedule your airport shuttle at least 15 minutes before you have to leave. It is complementary but unreliable. The front desk staff often leave the front desk unattended and go into they're little back office which can be frustrating. The rooms are very nice. Beds are clean and nicely made up. No signs of bed bugs - I checked. Bathroom is spacious. read more

Parking can be a bit of a pain (must check in before being able to access) and they do charge for parking. Full bar at ground level, so much better than these "bistros" that are popping up in Courtyards everywhere. Haven't eaten there much, so can't comment. I have switched to Hilton Garden Inn. The new dining experience doesn't meet my needs and going out for breakfast just adds time to my day. Marriott has abandoned the business traveler with their changes. Perhaps they want a younger market segmentation. My platinum level expires with Marriott in February after a solid 8 years of patronage. I will miss the awesome staff in Rochester. read more

Would normally give a Marriott a 5 star but chose to stay here because it is right across the street from St Mary's hospital. That being said, the location if you need to be close to the hospital because a family member is having surgery is great. The downfall is the they book groups of kids for tournaments all week and on weekends and appear to make no effort to keep a little bit of room separation between those groups and those who are here for other reasons. We stayed at this hotel during my family member's cancer treatment at Mayo Clinic. The staff was always warm and friendly, and willing to help. I left my brand new Kindle in our hotel room after checking out, and didn't figure it out until 2 days later. When I called, they had found it and set it aside. Dwayne Osterhout, the assistant general manager, was at the front desk when I picked it up. Not only did he have my Kindle, but Dwayne had taken it upon himself to charge it for me! We came to town for a week long stay at the Mayo Clinic. When we went in the room it smelled like rotten tuna fish. It immediately messed with my allergies. We found another hotel and checked in there. Because one glass was used, we were told that the room was "used" and would be charged a full night. Highly disappointed. read more
