Rude to the bride and groom throughout the whole wedding day and the days before and after... she came during the wedding and started video taping people from the dark corners making people feel uncomfortable. Love my best friends that got married there but would never wish this "lady's" experience on anyone... please don't make this mistake for your special day. Sincerely The Preacher

The owner Fran, was consistently difficult to reach by phone or email during my entire planning process. As for the reception itself, it was almost cancelled and I was blamed almost solely and blatantly in front of my family, for not having provided one piece of paperwork. This all not brought to my attention until my wedding day AS my guests were showing up to the venue. We were ASSURED by her, after asking at least 3 different times weeks before the wedding day, if there was any paperwork left to give her to make sure everything went smoothly for the day of. I was left feeling very angry and embarrassed that this miscommunication had to occur so late. By the way, if you are interested in this place, you will need to provide ALL your own basic amenities such as bathrooms and running water. No vendors are included whatsoever. Costs will be HIGH. It's your responsibility to make sure your vendors have ALL of their proper insurances correctly filled out as well as ALL permits. Good luck keeping in communication with the owner for that.To be honest, You're better off going to a wedding barn that includes at least basic amenities. You may also meet her "friend" she hires, who rudely bosses your guests around for parking and acts like a "bouncer", following around all your friends and family during the entire reception. Fran is strict supervisor, who will hover around your friends and family monitor everything you do closely and uncomfortably. This unfortunate experience with unprofessional behavior, left all of my guests with a bad taste in their mouths. I completely regret choosing this venue to have my reception and I would never recommend it after my experience. I can't say any of my 55 guests were pleased with their experience with her. Its is such a shame, because it is a very beautiful venue.

But it's pretty well opened so you can see everything that's going on although there can be columns that can block your view, but it was not a problem. The tables are decorated nicely And the chairs were pretty comfortable. Food was served family style. We had a chicken dish, a steak dish and veggies. All good. The veggies were a little weird because they had cinnamon on it but I enjoyed them. The cocktail hour was in a different space and that was really good. They had a charcuterie board and passed around hors d'oeuvres. My favorite was the beef Wellington and the shrimp cocktail. The tacos were good too. Let me borrow. It was a little salty and the pasta that came with it a little overdone. Dessert was OK. The cake was a little dry. They had a vanilla sundae bar which was fun but I did enjoy the Smore making station that they had. We ended the night leaving with a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel and it was warm. Those who took it said they enjoyed them. we had over 150 people and never felt crowded in the room. Room to dance without feeling you're on top of each other.

Rachel our server was great at getting the girls real coloring books and a big assortment of crayons. Somebody is really thinking about the little kids. Huge selection of New York beers, wines, and ciders. I tasted the girl's cheese pizza. This is not your average cheese pizza. I truly wish I had taken the time to analyze the complexity of the sauce, because I would love to make something half as nice. Omah (the grandmother, my wife) had fried ravioli. The shells were nice, golden and crunchy. But the cheese filling was some magical mixture of mozz and ricotta that dazzled my tongue. I had the NY Burger. Background: I am not a New Yorker. I was raised in the deep South, and up to now had questioned the value of anything "New York." (Excepting my grandchildren and their mom, of course.) I expect pretentious and parochial, over-priced and lacking value. The burger I had at New York Kitchen was the best I've ever had. I'm 72. I'm a meat eater. I've eaten thousands and thousands of burgers. Hands down this was the best, ever. The meat itself was super tasty and juicy, perfectly cooked to my specification. The brioche roll was perfect. The Bibb lettuce and tomato perfect, too. The sauce? Magic and mystifying. I didn't expect a lot going in to the restaurant, because the architecture is striking. (In my experience, focus on environment takes focus off the food. New York Kitchen breaks all of my rules. I am so happy to have been there. Thanks to my son and his family!

The ambience and gardens outside were also wonderful and wish we came a bit earlier to enjoy the lake views. Check-in is easy and classroom is right when you come in. The stations were well laid out with everything you needed. Our Chef Eli was very entertaining and we learnt some new knife cutting skills. The menu for us was German Oktoberfest themed with pork schnitzel, homemade spaetzle, and a harvest sauté vegetables. We throughly enjoyed the experience and class also came with 2 drinks and the meal you cooked together to enjoy. It was nice to support this wonderful 501c3 organization but do think the tickets are quite pricey for what you get.
