They did ask to keep my car overnight to look at it in the morning which I said yes too. I called in late afternoon the following day as I was concerned I didn't get a call back. Thinking that the Midas system is a large database and wanting to get down to the nitty gritty, I spoke a bit too fast as if in Chicago and may have rushed the conversation with the manager. Regardless, the manager was calm, collected, and ensured my vehicle would be taken care of. They have a convenient shuttle system so they will drop you off and pick you up if you leave your car with them for the day. I called a couple of days ago asking about tire prices and the employee gave me a very thorough explanation of options. Given that my tire size is somewhat rare, he said he would give me a call the next day to see if he could come up with any additional tire options for me. He followed up the next day, with lots of information, great detailed explanations and his honest recommendations (based on my budget). Ironically, I called ahead and provided my car's year, model with the type of oil that I have been used for years which is full synthetic, on the phone they told me the amoun lesser than they charged without asking for VIN number as Zach said to know which weight of the oil. Bottom line is be careful to bring your car for service at this auto shop in Rochester, MN because they will find a way to charge you more with their "complex but not straight upfront" as simple as engine oil service. Surely they won't see me again. BTW, Zach gave me a long list of courtesy diagnosis recommended fixes in which I'm not sure I trust it due to what happened to oil change service I got.

They even drove my car into the bay for me as I was terrified that I was going to drive it straight into the hole in the floor. We laughed a little bit about that. I found their service prices to be very affordable, and they even offered some discounts to me for having both of my differentials serviced at the same time. I waited around a half hour for a synthetic oil change, front and rear differential service, and rotation of the tires. The little waiting area is just that...little. Three chairs, a magazine rack, and a bathroom. Not that I minded, as the service was pretty speedy. If you don't want to wait, there's a strip mall full of restaurants and stores that you can easily wander to if you like. I liked to wait though because from the lobby you can see everything that they're doing to the car. I know nothing about car maintenance, so I think it's fascinating to stay and watch. :) Highly recommend!

I took my vehicle to a local mechanic, and he said the cap wasn't thread correctly, so oil had been spewing out onto my engine, thus causing the burning smell. After finding this out, I took my car back to Valvoline to explain what happened. They said they would 'look on their cameras' to see what happened. Two days later (on a Friday) I got a call and they said they reviewed the cameras and the cap was put on tight, and they were taking 0 responsibility. After stressing that nobody had touched the car after the oil change, they said they would bring it the manager, and he would call me Monday. I didn't receive a follow up call until Saturday, and it was from an assistant manager. They said the manager reviewed the footage and isn't taking any responsibility. I argued on the phone for quite some time, before being told they weren't going to do anything and it was final. I asked to speak to the manager, and they said the manager wasn't there and he had tried calling me on Monday. I never received a phone call or voicemail from the Manager. I spoke with a dealership about getting my engine cleaned and they said it will cost around $200, assuming it only takes them an hour. I paid $130 for the oil change. As I see it, I'm essentially out $330 because of a mistake they won't own up to. After reading other reviews on here, it's clear that this establishment never takes ownership for their mistakes. There is another instant oil change place that opened up across the street from them (Take 5 Instant Oil Change). You would think with direct competition now, they would care for their customers more. If you value your money, time, and vehicle, go somewhere else for an oil change.
