It was pretty good. We had our department's Christmas party…read morehere and it was better than I thought it was gonna be. The service is good, the food even better. I ordered the Ruben and fries. Actually delicious. I sat on the restaurant side. We were there for about 4 hours. I did leave smelling like cigarette smoke. It was pretty bad. And horrible for a non smoker. The bathroom is decent. There is a tiny lot for parking.

We have heard a lot of great things about Greg's Place by the P.D. and court house. So, as we drove by, we decided to stop and check it out. We were greeted warmly by the bartender. We said we came in for dinner. He directed us to the restaurant. Was still a little early, so we were the first ones there. Tiffany, an awesome lady, was our hostess. We ordered tacos. chicken sandwich. And a rueben. Everything was sooo good, and the portions were great. Speaking with Tiffany she gave us a rundown on the Town, the events at Greg's Place. Bands, karaoke and DJs that play on the weekends. On Thutsday they have Bingo. Overall, this is an extremely nice neighborhood place to hang out. We will be back, especially for the bands and dancing! Greg's Place is a must visit if passing through Schererville or if you haven't yet as a resident. Highly recommended by our family. Thank you Tiffany, you are terrific!

A-OK but, it can get smokey and kinda crowded pretty quick…read more Here's the skinny: Simple drinks here... no fancy isht Mind your lungs, it gets smokey in here. Not much room on the "back side" of the bar. Booths are hard on your cheeks. Tables are better for a group. Here's the fat: If you're looking for a Martini or something, look elsewhere. Here it's beer, and simply mixed drinks as fast as they can pour 'em. This is another one of those NWI no frills just bottle and draft beer places. If you want a particular mixed drink - bring the recipe... they'll make it for you. If you don't smoke and have an aversion... stay away. Being a smaller bar and in Indiana the smoke pours forth from people like a *Pyroclastic Flow. The ventilation system has absolutely ZERO chance of keeping up. One side of the bar is less that 3 feet from the East wall... not many people pass through there but, when they do it's an awkward invasion of your "personal bubble". That said... it's a bar so personal space doesn't really mean much, especially after people have a few drinks. The booths here are particularly hard, I suggest sitting down gently unless you've got plenty of cushioning back there. Another thing about the booths, you're likely to find all kinds of change in the seats... change, cigarette butts and a coupon for Pizza Hut. Best bet for a group, tables. They can be put together for larger groups and there's no faux padding on the chairs to make you think they're soft. SYOY *Pyroclastic Flow (Noun) A fast moving gaseous cloud of hot ashes and other material thrown out from an erupting volcano

It's a holiday so I know things will be a little off and I was surprised that they were open! This…read moreis the first time ever coming in and I decided to get a pulled pork sandwich. On the holidays you have to carry out only I did not know that when I ordered but after I had already ordered, they let me know. I live nearby, so I figured that was fine. The place has been there for a long time. It did have a greasy spoon look. The inside needs an update. They need an update on that but at the same time if their main focus is food and most people don't care I guess keep it the same. The ladies waiting on me were friendly, but also seemed a little confused on what they were to do. The one lady said she was new, so I get it. I got a pulled pork sandwich, french fries, and they were out of their potato salad, so I got coleslaw which cost $1.50. When my husband and I got to the car I looked in the bag and saw that the coleslaw was literally two bites. I went to the local grocery store and got $.75 worth of coleslaw, which gave me a lot more. I personally like to put the coleslaw on top of my pulled pork. I got home and was very impressed with the pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich was huge and piled full of meat. It was a very good price and they gave you a lot of french fries as well. The only thing that I was a little bummed about was that their $1.50 coleslaw that I ate and two bites was actually pretty terrible. It was very dry and bland. I'm glad I went to the grocery store to get creamy coleslaw because the stuff they sell really isn't worth that price. Anyway, I would still come back for a pulled pork sandwich or a big pork chop because their meat has a great taste to it and the barbecue sauce was good. Pulled pork was nice and tender and delicious.
