Absolutely everything about this place was spot on. Great atmosphere and staff. Everything we ordered was delicious. Even the leftovers where boxed up in recyclable containers that where labeled and dated, a very nice touch. Cannot wait to try some other dishes they offer.

Cool vibe, love the design of the place, great service, and there is outdoor seating to enjoy mild Michigan weather. It is an upscale latin America restaurant. Website said everything is locally source which guarantees they have the freshes ingredients. Anyway food review. The roasted chicken is good with the green sauce, the potatoes side has a crunchy exterior and soft and warm interior. I think regular Peruvian roasted chicken is better and cheaper. Tuna ceviche is very good. Red onion can be kinda spicy and the strawberry sobert in the middle can help you out. Ceviche has a good balance of acidity and fresh tuna. I just wish the protein is more.

I would highly recommend Roca for many reasons. Great atmosphere, clean, amazing staff, outstanding drinks, fantastic food. We were a party of six that went in for dinner and drinks. My personal favorites for the drinks were the Anastasia (perfectly balanced cocktail) and the Pilot Talk if you don't mind the smokey Mezcal flavor. For apps my favorites were the Guacamole and the Argentinian Beef Empanadas. I also really liked the beef barbacoa tacos...the beef had a really good flavor and was cooked perfectly. I I liked the queso fundido (with chirozo), but it came with sliced bread. I ended up using the tortilla chips that we ordered for the table instead. It would be better if they served it with flour tortilla instead of the bread so you could roll it up in the the tortilla. I'm not usually a big fan of sweet potatoes, but I did try the Taquitos de Papas and I really enjoyed it. I would highly suggest it if you like sweet potato. Great place to come and enjoy drinks and apps. I wish I could try some of the main dishes, but the apps hit the spot for this venture.

In town on business, and wanted some good authentic ethnic cuisine for dinner. We chose this restaurant based on a locals suggestion and online ratings. Roca does not disappoint. The ambience of the restaurant is casual and modern with a Latin flare. The space is very clean, well lit, and the service was top-notch. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave us some great suggestions. The menu is a little pricey however, the food flavors and portion size are well worth it. While the desserts were good, they did not seem to match the food. They were large in size, and quite heavy, in comparison to the delicate flavors and plating styles of the savory food. I will definitely come back for dinner when I am in Kalamazoo again.

Beautifully chill and spunky ambience. Filled with good music and great decor. The inclusion of a non-alcoholic (and ever so delicious!) Anastasia melted my heart. And soothed my tastebuds. The Shrimp Tostada to start is divine. Gorgeously plated. "Fresh and Perfectly Balanced" would be its headline. The service is amazing. Such cheerful disposition and care from the staff. Ah-mazing Restaurant !

Fast friendly service. We sat at the bar and the staff were very kind and attentive. Enjoyed the entire experience. Great food, delicious margarita.

We went on a Wednesday night in July and the weather was perfect so we sat outside. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was fresh. The drinks were on point. The server was attentive. I could say more but I respect your time - in summary, five out of five stars and would recommend

I went here for girls night! The place is fancy, the environment is beautiful and dreamy. I ordered lamb tacos ($15) and tres leches cake. ($8) The taco was so good, juicy and tender. I just was surprised that it was super spicy and the menu hasn't mentioned that. When i asked the waitress, she said almost all other options are hot and spicy except for the one's with sea food tacos. I am not a big fan of sea food, and i am alirgic to hot spices. so I skipped dinner there. and went straight to dessert. The tres leches cake was very good and delicious. The texture was soft , and creamy. The strawberry sauce added a good taste to the whole dessert. The service was very nice and friendly! I just like places that treats me well, and being caring for costumer and respectful. The waitress took of the tacos from the bill because I couldn't eat it. So sweet of her. I am coming here again? For that tres leches cake, yes!!!

I'm not a big cocktail drinker, I stick to the simpler stuff. But when we sat down at Roca and the bartender gave us the run down on a few drinks, he talked me into it. I went with the Farewell, Ruby and it was made absolutely perfectly. Sweet but strong at the same time. Big fan.

Great addition to KZOO! This place was poppin' for a weekday dinner. Trendy/vibey decor with purply/pink mood lights added to the ambience. We were celebrating so we ordered allll the things - when I come back, I'm getting the Braised Lamb Tacos, Flan and cocktails all day! *Chips, Guac, Pico - These are all ordered separately at $2, $5, $4 respectively. I added on escabeche too (mexican pickled vegetables - cauliflower - jalapeño - carrot - onion - $2) because I love all things pickled! No complaints about these tasty starters! *Mojo Flat Iron (papas - roasted chimichurhi - piquillo - charred onion) - Very tasty dish and great for sharing. The flat iron was good/not too tough -The flavors were reallly nice on this. I also love me a crispy potato and this delivered on that. *Braised Lamb Tacos (crispy oaxaca - yogurt - cumin - pickled radish - birria broth - 3 for $15) - OK so I'm usually not a lamb person because I don't like the gaminess. These were not gamey at all, so full flavored & well seasoned! Make sure you wait for the birria broth to come out because that dip is essential! *Mexican Sea Bass Tacos (brassica slaw - crema - green apple - tamarind - 3 for $14) - good with a very light crispy batter, but the braised lamb totally knocked this one out! *Churro Cheesecake (mascarpone - spiced chocolate - cinnamon - truffle - $9) - This was good and I love the little churro on top but the flan was REMARKABLE & irresistible... *Flan (egg custard - hibiscus - green apple - guava syrup - $9) - the texture on this was insane. Not too watery or wet like panna cottta can get and not too firm like jello -- just riigghtt. I also loved the green apple as it added a touch of sour and the pepitas added crunch. I could eat like 5 of these by myself. Andrea, our server, was super helpful in aiding us in making cocktail, entree & dessert choices!

Gr at new Kalamazoo restaurant. We started with the margarita and the traveler, the traveler was the favorite. Great honey whiskey cocktail. Next we had the Fundido, the taquitos, and chips with pico and bean dip. The papas taquitos was solid with the sauce the star of the dish. We added chorizo to the cheese dip and that was excellent. We used both the bread and our chips to eat it. The pico was super fresh. The bean dip was okay but a little on the bland side, we'll probably skip that one next time. Mains were the bass, the lamb tacos, and the flat iron steak. The tacos needed a bit more sauce drizzled on top but other than that were really good. The pickled radish was a nice touch, added a bit of bright color and crunch to the dish. The sea bass was cooked with a crispy skin over rice. The flat iron steak was perfectly medium rare over a chimicurri sauce that added a nice brightness to the dish and balanced the delicious charred steak. We finished with tres leches, flan, and french press coffee. All were fabulous with the tres leches the favorite. Looki forward the a return visit!

    Desserts! Loved the Churro Cheesecake

Bululu Tropical - Chocolate chip ice cream. I wasn't thrilled about the ice crystals on it

I have been here once before about a year ago for dinner with my boyfriend and it seemed that I…read morefailed to write a review for that visit and I can't find my food photos from back then. I came back for lunch today while in town and despite it being a year since my last visit, I remember that the food was definitely better on my last visit than it was today! Bummer. Still about 4 stars though. One thing I remember from my visit last year was just how dark they keep it in there. I get that it is important to save on electric bills, but it doesn't create the best atmosphere. Maybe invest in motion sensor lighting? I had fun looking around the huge space and taking pictures while I waited about 8 minutes for my food to be freshly prepared. I ordered one arepa with a meat mix and sweet plantains and a scoop of chocolate chip ice cream which came to $13 after tax and tip. Skip the ice cream - mine was covered in ice crystals and had a grainy taste. No me gusta. I love arepas and definitely thought mine was tasty but I think they should allow people to get up to 3 toppings in their arepa instead of just 2. My arepa definitely needed a sauce or veggie or some kind. The arepa is also not a great deal as it is 1 kind of small arepa for $8.50. The meat mix I chose was a good choice as the meat was juicy and the portion generous but I was a bit bummed I only had two thin slices of sweet plantains in my arepa. Ordering a combo is definitely your best bet to get the most for your money here. I was trying to keep my lunch small (I'll be having a big hibachi dinner tonight and don't want to be too full for that) but I didn't make the right choices at Bululu Tropical today. I'll be back for sure, but I'll definitely make a smarter food choice and avoid getting anything in the dessert freezer. Also, brush up on your Spanish before coming here! Haha! Nah, you'll manage okay if you don't... but it might help!

Went to Bululu tonight for the first time. While I've never been to Venezuela, the freshness of the…read morefood made me feel like I was in the Dominican again. To say it was fantastic is an understatement! Bonus: they have a robot deliver food! The music was fun and set the mood for a great time. The staff was very friendly. Will definitely be going back!
