Let me say that I had the pleasure of meeting up with realtor Jordan. We've been looking for a home…read morefor several months and we've dealt with some very unprofessional realtors. Jordan was a breath of fresh air. He showed us a few properties and was very knowledgeable about the area, especially the schools...as we are new to the area and looking for a good school district. When we met Jordan he was wearing a mask (we were happy about that), and he made sure to spray our hands with sanitizer...such a nice touch and made us feel comfortable. We went to lunch and talked about what we were looking for, I tried to pay the bill, but Jordan insisted he take care of it. We had a great day and looking forward to viewing houses again with Jordan. We weren't impressed with the building materials on one of the houses, as the windows had plastic frames and they didn't even match up to the locks and some of the door frames already were cracking around the edges. That was our only concerns. I tried to close the window and I was afraid it would break. With that said, Jordan is our realtor and we want nobody else to help find us our new home. We can sleep well at night knowing Jordan is on our team! Thanks for everything Jordan!

I want to write this review in four parts so that I can at least save few people from the same agony that we have been through with this builder for over a year now. In addition, I feel it is a safety concern also with all the high tension wires underneath the lots 1, 2,3 4 and 21. Here you go... Part 1: We signed our first contract with them in June 2018 for Yellowstone and 2060 sq ft on Lot 24 and paid $5000 earnest money. While signing the contract, all the sweet talk and said within 6-months your home will be ready! They said 2-3 weeks to get the permits, but literally took 2-3 months to even start the construction. Finally, in November, they poured the slab and when we visited the site, the house perimeter looked smaller than a typical 2000+ sq. ft home. Naturally, my wife and I asked for the blue print, and to our shock, the house is actually 1620 sq. ft only and they added 440 sq. ft of garage area into the total sq ft. Of course we confronted, and their response, "Oh, sorry it's a mistake". Note that this is from a "Home Builder"! They did cancel the contract and returned the check. Part 2: They offered me a 1995 sq ft home on a different lot for a similar price per sq. ft, and they said this is a premium lot and we are doing you a favor! I did not care if it is a premium lot or not, my wife and I just wanted my 2060 sq ft house in a lot we chose in the first place. Nevertheless, we took it and paid again $5K with new contract for Lot 4 in November 2018. The owner of this building company said, your house would be ready by end of April 2019, or worst-case end of May 2019. Soon it turned out be a nightmare and we realized the biggest mistake of our lives. Not only ended up losing $5K but also no home after a year of signing our first contract. Part 3: Three months into signing the contract, forget about the completion of house, they do not even have permits to start the construction. Remind you, while signing; they said 2-3 weeks for the permits! Finally, in March 2019, I get a call saying, "the permits are approved and you will see construction move so fast". As usual, nothing happened until April 2019 and the reason by them, "Oh bank is taking time to release funds". Now the twist in the plot, in April, they said we found a high-tension wire underneath your lot that is going from Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 21. We cannot build anything until CenterPoint removed this dangerous wire, otherwise our workers may die if we hit this wire while digging during construction. Again, nothing moved until June 2019. Part 4: The builder called me in May, and said, "Centerpoint is asking us to pay $9K, and we told them we are just going to build on top it". I said "Absolutely not, and I don't feel safe having a high-tension wire underneath my lot!" They immediately changed the story, and said it is just a normal wire and is not dangerous at all. Naturally, I asked them to provide a letter from both CenterPoint and the builder saying, "The wires are removed from lot 4 and it's safe to construct/live & a genuine date of completion of house". Not only they did not provide any letter but the response we got, "With regards to "the history" and your feelings that ESQ has been dishonest. You signed a contract which our company has abided by. This contract clearly states all of the things that you now are having issues with. Namely, that our only obligation with regards to timing is to acquire permits within 180 days and to build the home within 2 years. The contract also clearly states that time frames given to you by us are estimates at best." July 2019, we have neither a house nor the state of the construction, and needless to say, we canceled the agreement and lost our $5K. We not only suffered financially, but also mentally and emotionally! I hope and wish no one goes through this hell again.

Brandon…read moreBates has never come to my home to see the issue, rarely answers his phone and is slow to answer emails. He and Tri Pointe refuse to stand behind the customer when the products used in my 4 year old home are already falling apart, specifically my wood flooring. Brandon Bates is not at all helpful and is fast to blame the customer for the problems encountered instead of standing behind the customer and helping. The flooring installed in my home by Houston Carpets (by the builder) required a moisture barrier which was not used. Regal Flooring, the manufacturer, refuses to say anything except a moisture barrier was not used which was required in their installation instructions. This is when you would expect Brandon at Tri Pointe to step in and help their customer. This is not the situation with Brandon Bates at Tri Pointe. I have only used what Regal Flooring says is safe on my flooring when cleaning and have taken the very best care of my home. There is nothing I can do to save this floor as it was not installed properly and Regal floors will not return calls either. Brandon should help me with this but doesn't. RED FLAG WARNING - DO NOT BUY A HOME FROM THIS BUILDER, YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY WITH THE END RESULTS AND THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY.

My signature was forged at one of the construction checkpoints. I had major problems with the following. - Cabinets - Countertops - Floors - Paint job/texture - Appliances - Airway ducts - Electrical outlet placement I had to fight with the warranty department for a year just to fix the problems. Everytime the warranty reps come by they try to get you to believe that there is no problem. They refused to securely install my dishwasher. They said that the manufacturer was responsible for that. However, the manufacturer does not perform installation. I'm not sure if TriPoint nationally is this bad but the Dallas Fort Worth Region is bad. Save yourself the headache and choose a quality builder. I'll never build with TriPoint again.

As a licensed real estate agent with over 10 years of experience, I have seen a lot -- but the lack of accountability, integrity, and basic customer service from this builder is absolutely unacceptable. At the 11-month mark of our home warranty, we discovered over 40 feet of two linear stairstepping cracks in the bricks and brick mortar along the back and right side of our home -- clear warning signs of structural movement. We submitted a warranty repair request in November 2024 and waited for a response. Instead of sending out a qualified structural engineer to evaluate the issue (as any reputable builder would), it was only after I emailed corporate did they finally send out a "technician" who took measurements of the level of the floors inside. In the meantime, I personally had three highly reputable foundation companies inspect the home. Each confirmed that the cracks are not just cosmetic, but indicate a serious structural issue that requires support piers -- not to mention the high cost to simply patch and repaint the damaged brick. In April 2025, Brightland had the nerve to send a generic letter brushing this off as "normal" -- normal?! Nothing about 40+ feet of two rows of stair-step cracking in the brick of a new home is normal. It's a major red flag and should have been addressed properly. This repair is going to be extremely expensive -- and it's an issue that NO homeowner should have to deal with in a brand new build. Brightland's refusal to take responsibility is absolutely disgraceful. As a licensed real estate agent, I now have a duty to disclose this experience to potential buyers, colleagues, brokerages, and clients. I will absolutely make sure others are aware of what Brightland Home Builders did -- or rather, what they failed to do. If you're considering buying from Brightland, think twice. They do not stand behind their homes or their warranty, and when real problems arise, they vanish behind generic letters and excuses. This experience has been a nightmare, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Brightland should be ashamed.

We were very serious buyers and proceeded in good faith until we received our third-party inspection report, at which point we were absolutely shocked. The inspection revealed major issues: -missing portions of the roof and incorrectly installed roofing material -exposed plumbing in the garage -electrical panel not even screwed into the wall -wiring issues -water meter reading usage-indicating a leak -several other serious foundational and structural concerns. These things are not cosmetic or minor punch-list items; they significant construction deficiencies that should never exist in a "new" home being marketed as move-in ready. And if they cut corners on these things, imagine what else they may have skipped. What made this experience worse was CastleRock's response. Rather than taking accountability, the company attempted to downplay and obscure the severity of the issues and made efforts to sneakily and hurriedly repair some of these issues behind our back to "prove" that the inspection was false. We were then met with resistance and vitriol (particularly on behalf of the division president) when requesting the return of our deposit, despite the fact that the inspection findings clearly justified terminating the contract. The sales woman at the sagebrook office told us on two separate occasions that our earnest money could be refunded. The division president we dealt with was condescending and dismissive, which only reinforced our concern about the company's ethics and customer treatment. At no point did we feel respected as buyers or that our legitimate safety concerns were taken seriously. Purchasing a home is one of the largest investments a family makes. Based on our experience, CastleRock Communities has demonstrated a lack of integrity, transparency, and professionalism. I strongly encourage anyone considering buying from them to do some research into their open suits and their well documented history of poor construction quality and failure to uphold their warranty. Better yet, just avoid buying a CastleRock home altogether

This is a follow-up to my original review since purchasing my home from Castle Rock, and…read moreunfortunately, my experience has continued to decline. Since moving in, we have dealt with multiple serious issues, including two separate leaks, damage floor tiles, damage cabinet drawer faces in the kitchen and bathroom, and a hole in the foundation that has resulted in one corner of the master bedroom floor becoming unleveled and an ongoing rodent problem, which appears to be the result of an opening connected to the roof. These are significant construction concerns that should not exist in a newly built home. I contacted the building site supervisor regarding the opening issues that could possibly be connected to the roof and was told I would receive a call back. That call never came. The lack of communication, accountability, and urgency has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Based on my experience, it appears the homes are rushed to completion, with little attention to long-term quality or proper inspection. I would not purchase another home from Castle Rock, nor would I recommend them to others considering building with this company. I strongly encourage potential buyers to do thorough research before making a decision.
