The remodel of this place turned out really great. I arrived today @ 7 a.m. with a broken second toe ( the one next to the big one) It was cool to see that they had 2 large golf carts out front that are so needed when you break something... especially when you park far away... and I have had to deal with that issue back in 2019 when I broke my femur. The golf carts are a great idea! We got there right when the opened @ 7 a.m. the girl working the front desk was very pleasant. I will say the entire staff was really loud and unprofessional because we could hear them chatting about their social lives big time. I mean when your in agony you really could care less and just want to be waited on. I asked the gal at the front desk will I get a actual M.D. or a P.A. and she said a P.A which is totally fine with me I've had PA's that we're better than actual docs in some cases, well this wasn't one of them. I saw the PA sneak in at 7:20. The medical assistant came in and I told her the story of how I broke my toe. Then off to the X-Rays. The were quick but again I had to listen to Al the jibber jabbering about everyone's social life. I mean... Then Matthew Sacht finally graced me and he was speaking so quickly and really didn't make much sense but told me I didn't need to come back at all, this was the good news. I asked the assistant to please write down some instructions for me because I didn't understand all that he said, he was probably in there like 3 minutes. I did ask the assistant if I could please get some photos of the X-Ray and she was very nice and let me get some shots. I could hardly see the break at all which is a good thing. They sold me a shoe for $20 and I forget what exactly what his instructions were because he was giving me the bumb's rush to get me outta there so he could get back to his socializing. He waited on me once before and was was better at his job than that morning. There was, literally no one else in the place but me, even when I left. The E-Ray tech, the receptionist and the medical assistant were all every nice. My advice is keep down the socialization because people that are coming into urgent care are not feeling good. It was amazing to me how much a small break like that hurts. That P.A. gets 1 star.

Nice clean waiting room to be comfortable in.

I have been here before a long time ago for a foot and ankle sprain and again for our youngest daughter when she fractured a toe. The level of attentiveness back then was amazing and hasn't discontinued. I recently had a ganglion cyst removed from my ring finger and I couldn't have been more pleased with the assessment of the issue, to labs done prior, to scheduling, to the level of care from check-in to discharge. I'm not one to get antsy about surgery, but if I did, there wouldn't be a care in the world because of the personalities of all those I engaged. Thank you, ROC, and I'll see you next week for my follow up.

I'd like to give it 5 stars. Had surgery there with Dr Dobbs several times ... actually he performed my surgeries at Renown South meadows. I've every confidence in him Labs staff friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately my 3/31/22 surgery was canceled by Renown because of their issues with the anesthesia group they were using and there was no one available for my surgery This is where my issues begin. It took me 10 days to get rescheduled and I felt like I was treated with indifference. I had to keep calling them ... even though they knew how stressed out I was due to the cancellation. I finally got rescheduled but felt like no effort was made to accommodate those who were canceled. I felt like "too bad about the cancellation, now step to the back of the line and wait another 9 weeks!" Seriously!! Ok so I'm going to wait for my new 6/7/22 surgery date. All I had to do was call Renown within 28 days of surgery to do pre-admit & labs. They told me my 6/7 date was canceled too. This caused more stress than you can imagine and 20 phone calls in 10 days to get it straight. I feel the ROC scheduler dropped the ball and a call to get supervisor didn't help much. So only 2 STARS to administrative staff. This was way too much stress for an almost 80 year old. I think all administrative staff working in a medical environment should spend a day or two working with a nurse to learn some compassion!

I suppose it depends on what department you are in. I have a doctor for the arthritis in my wrist;Dr. Kaiser. I have an orthopedist for an old surgery in my neck;Dr.Goz, and I have a different doctor for the problems in my shoulder;Dr. Christianson. It's a very organized business and the new building is gorgeous. Maybe I could have 1 doctor for arthritis! The End!

Jenn was wonderful and immediately helped put me at ease. I especially appreciate when a nurse gets my IV on the first try--it may seem like a small thing, but it certainly doesn't go unnoticed! It's always such a strange feeling to go under anesthesia and then wake up with everything already finished. Bette was incredibly calming, kind, and attentive during my recovery, which made the experience much more comfortable. I also want to thank Dr. Kaiser for his care and concern in making sure all of my issues were addressed. My gratitude extends to the anesthesiologist and every nurse in the operating room for their professionalism, compassion, and excellent care throughout the entire process. I'm truly thankful for everyone who helped make a stressful experience as comfortable as possible. Hopefully, this will be my last surgery for a very long time!

Following this meeting, I must have come across three other physicians who all recommended Malcarney, one operating room RN who highly recommended Malcarney, and a bunch of other people at our Health Club (Should be called a recovery club) who gave high praise to Malcarney for her work on them! So I had the surgery (can't say that it was great since I was out cold when she was operating on me), but I can say that Malcarney and all of her team members were outstanding in their communications, their follow-up, their bedside manner, their subdued yet appreciated sense of humor, and their positive attitudes! It was as good of an experience as one can hope for, and the rest is up to the PT and my ability to follow his instructions... In closing, I have to say that I appreciate Malcarney's approach and how she and the PA explained it all. I highly recommend her, as do apparently countless other former patients in and around the Reno Area...I think that speaks volumes! You can't go wrong by going with Malcarney to perform the surgery...you can only go wrong by screwing up your shoulder (like I did)...Just glad that Doctor Malcarney was there to repair it all!

The effect is disjointed, interrupted and a bit disturbing treatment that is skilled but less effective than other more focused and private care. Today I was refused treatment because my blood pressure was volatile, as always, and I had tingly legs and arms, as usual. The difference today was that they measured my blood pressure and realized I was right in what I had told them. They will say they are required to refuse treatment because it is dangerous. It is no more dangerous than other days for me. Dangerous for them perhaps? I got fairly good treatment here, until they realized I had been telling the truth. It took weeks to get an appointment and find a therapy that helped. Then on a day when I really needed help, they refused. This is a no, unless you are young, strong and healthy and your insurance pays on time. My bill got more attention than my health problems today.

I had a very frustrating experience at the ROC Express location in Galena…read more Earlier that morning, I used ROC's online chat to let them know that my 10-month-old son's splint was coming apart because he had been pulling at it. I uploaded a photo showing the stuffing coming out. A few hours later, a ROC employee called me back and specifically told me I could go to any ROC Express location to have his splint rewrapped. I even asked if the Galena location was okay since it's closest to my house, and she told me yes. Before leaving home, I completed the online check-in, explained exactly why I was coming, and provided my phone number and email. I checked in about 30 minutes before arriving. By the time we got to the office, my 10-month-old had actually kicked the splint off completely. I even held it up and showed it to the receptionist because I was genuinely concerned that he no longer had any support on his injured leg. When I got to the Galena office, it was completely empty. No customers. I walked up to the front desk, and the receptionist (Jocelyn) simply stared at me without saying hello or asking how she could help. I told her who I was and that I had checked in online. After reading my online check-in, she told me (rudely) they couldn't help because my son had an appointment scheduled for Monday. I explained that I had just spoken with someone from ROC who specifically instructed me to come there to have the splint rewrapped. She insisted they couldn't do anything--not even rewrap the splint--and that he needed to wait for his appointment. Despite showing her that he had kicked it off completely. She was very rude & uncaring. What made even less sense is that ROC Express exists to evaluate and treat orthopedic injuries. If I had walked in off the street with my son after his injury, they would have treated him. Instead, despite having an injured 10-month-old with no splint on his leg, I was told they couldn't even rewrap it. The explanation simply didn't add up. To make matters worse, they had all of my information from my online check-in. If they truly believed they couldn't help, they could have called me before I drove there with my baby. Instead, I made the trip only to be turned away. I then spent about 30 minutes on hold trying to reach someone at ROC. By chance, the same employee who had called me earlier answered. She told me the Galena office was mistaken and instructed me to go to the downtown ROC Express instead. Within an hour, my son was seen at the downtown location and placed in a cast without any issues. The difference between the two locations was night and day. The downtown staff was knowledgeable, compassionate, and efficient. Unfortunately, my experience at Galena was the exact opposite. Between the misinformation, poor customer service, and unwillingness to help an injured infant, I left feeling extremely disappointed. I sincerely hope ROC addresses the training and customer service at this location because families shouldn't have to drive from office to office with an injured child due to incorrect information.
