My husband went here because he was having excruciating back pain. They gave him an MRI and didn't call him with the results. He had to wait a whole month to get back into see a doctor. When we did go see the doctor they said he would just have to have injections to help with pain every month forever. Dr. Arraiz didn't even review his MRI results with him. The pain became unbearable. We were becoming desperate, so I scheduled him to see a chiropractor. The chiropractor took one look at his MRI and said it was really bad. Luckily the chiropractor had a close friend who was a neurosurgeon and was able to get us in immediately. The neurosurgeon said he would have to get emergency surgery otherwise he would be paralyzed. For our first time ever having to deal with this issue we will be going here from now on! The doctors and staff are great with my son and our family. Got a soft cast from urgent care and within an hour or so had a call from ROC to schedule an appointment to get a hard cast. A week later had a follow up and they worked around my work schedule and made it for later in the week. Old cast off, x-rays, and new cast in less than 45 minutes which is a huge plus since I have a toddler. If we ever have a fall that may have resulted in a break we will be going here first. read more

Daughter came home late from sports practice where she injured her Quad, I looked online and also called the Reno location (I live in Carson and the Carson location was closed) they said online and on there answering machine that they closed at 7. I drove from Carson to Reno, showed up at 6:40, they said they are open but stopped seeing patients. I told them I had driven all the way from Carson and my daughter needed to be seen because she was having a hard time walking. The front office person walked in back for ten minutes then walked back in front offered to call his manager. I spoke with the manager on the phone, she was beyond rude. She told me the provider had been there for 13 hours and was tired of seeing patients and the provider can stop seeing patients whenever they want. I do feel for this provider maybe hiring more providers and treating them well would help! She told me she was home and asked me what I would like her to do about the situation. I told her that open until 7 is false advertising and if they only wanted to stay until 7 then they should advertise only being open until 6:30!!!! I also work in a medical office and when we say we see patients until 5 it means we see patients until 5 and stay much later to wrap up our day. If your staff wants to go home early then close early. No business owner goes home at the posted closing time they expect to stay after and wrap up the day. They also seem to be short on urgent care providers. read more

Those considering a complete hip surgery should do more than just choosing ROC. This is an extremely busy medical center that may not be giving you the attention needed ; especially during surgery. I was one of many..maybe 7-10 hip surgeries that day. I felt this was more of a surgical assembly line. Long story short....my prosthetic that was placed into my femur was too small and the surrounding bone did not adhere to it; now loose. I've been in constant pain ever since the 2021 surgery. I finally went to the USC Keck Orthopaedic Center in Los Angeles to have this verified. I may be doing this entire thing all over again, which was not easy...obviously not too happy. read more

Came in with a broken hand yesterday. Its downtown on 6th and I assumed I would have to pay for parking due to the location, but I was wrong. HUGE free parking lot on 6th. I was seen within 20 minutes. Everyone I saw (maybe 10 people) was so nice, and professional. I have the utmost confidence in the care and knowledge I was provided. They put a temp cast on, and I go back in a week for the fiberglass. Having never broken a bone, I didn't know what to expect, but I was so impressed by these people I will refer any and everyone I know. I sent in two sets of x-rays over 2 weeks for my mom who was in a skilled nursing Facility for the first set and then home awaiting surgery to have a shunt put in her brain and immobile at home for the second set . Multiple calls at the office held no results for a simple look at the x-rays and an okay to take the splint off of her leg . I hurt my knee playing with the kids, I was dreading going in to have it looked at. To me the words Urgent Care are synonymous with "Wait a REALLY long time". Boy was I wrong... I was greeted as soon as I walked in, the staff were checking in other patients but I didn't wait more than 5 minutes before I was checked in. The questions were thorough and they made sure that any contingency for my treatment was covered. All the X Ray, MRI, medication questions, etc. I went back to my seat in the waiting area and was called back within 15 minutes. Once in the room I only waited about 15 minutes to see the provider. I was in utter shock. All of the staff from the assistants at the front desk, to the provider himself were all super friendly, courteous, and made sure that I was comfortable and taken care of. This is like no other urgent care experience I have ever had. I am so impressed. The facility is clean and comfortable, x-rays were done very quickly. I left with a need for an MRI and follow-up with my ortho surgeon. As I departed I was told that I would receive a call to schedule my MRI and that when that was complete I would be scheduled for follow-up with the surgeon. I had my MRI the very next day and was scheduled to see the surgeon within days of that appointment. AMAZING!!!! I am beyond impressed with the customer service that I have received at the ROC. I walked in without an appointment and was seen within 30 minutes. The doctor, who was humble and nice, listened to my problem and determined I should get x-rays. Their equipment is really up-to-date. The girl who did the x-rays has a cute personality. She is sparky and got me in & out of there within no time. The doctor looked at the x-rays and referred me to a foot specialist within their group. Without insurance you will pay $300. If you pay in full at the first visit you get 40% off that visit and subsequent ones. Each visit thereafter is $150. Siri will take you to the front of the building where there's paid parking. Go around the side/back and use their own parking lot. It's free and there is plenty of parking spots. read more

ROC Express is the BEST place to go if you need an emergency Xray in Reno! We were in and out with an Xray, diagnosis and cast, in -- no lie -- about 30 minutes! My 13 yr old son had a bad fall while playing basketball at school and we suspected a broken wrist. I was not looking forward to a typical 3 to 4 hr ER/Urgent Care Visit, so I called our GP to see about getting an order for an Xray to save time. They told me about ROC (Reno Orthopedic Clinic) instead. When I picked up my son from the school nurse's office, they also gave me a brochure for ROC, so I reluctantly decided to give them a try. (I say reluctantly, because we live in South Reno, and ROC Express is located about 30 min away in downtown Reno) SOOO glad we made the decision to go to ROC! Even with the extra driving time, we were in and out of ROC long before we would have gotten past the waiting room at the St. Mary's South Reno Urgent Care near our home! We walked into ROC without an appt around 1:30pm on a Thursday and were greeted by two smiling staffers who waved us over to the counter. As soon as check-in was completed (10 min?), we were immediately brought to an exam room. About a minute later, a technician came in and took take my son for an Xray; they returned to the exam room less than 5 minutes later. A few minutes after that, Cameron (a Physician's Assistant) came in with the diagnosis: a "buckle fracture" to my son's right wrist. He explained what that meant, and that he'd need a cast on for 4 weeks, then answered all our questions. Next up, we were brought to large, open room for the casting where another gal (a nurse?) asked my son to pick his favorite cast color from a rainbow assortment. The casting process didn't take more than about 10-15 minutes, including question and answer time. Check out was a breeze, and we're booked for a follow-up in a month for a final Xray and cast removal. Everyone was super-friendly, down to earth, explained everything very well, and overall very personable and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Big Bonus: since they only deal with orthopedic emergencies you don't have to worry about picking up illnesses from sick people in the waiting room. I really hope we don't face any more orthopedic emergencies, but if we do, I know Reno Orthopedic Center (ROC) in downtown Reno is the place to go for quick, efficient service! read more

Started out really smooth, limped in was seen pretty darn quick. Got a steroid pack an injection in my left butt cheek a some muscle relaxers. After four days of treatment it wasn't working still had major pain shooting down my left leg. Called left a couple of messages sent a couple of texts never got a good answer.Just wanted to know if I could do PT while being in a bunch of pain. Came in for my physical therapy still in a bunch of pain and then the shoe dropped the PT guy told me he was not a back specialist. Why do they schedule an appointment for a person who has a very painful bad back with a therapist who doesn't have enough experience? Left very confused and wondering when or if I'll get some relief for my bad back. read more

My daughter recently had a non-displaced subcondylar fracture of her humerus from falling off her bike. The renown urgent care sent her home the previous night with just a sling, and screaming from pain. The PA unfortunately had to redo the X-rays and upon seeing the pain my daughter was in immediately wrote for pain meds knowing her surgery would be in four days due to the Presidents' Day weekend. We have been here twice and both times we waited 2hrs. First time my husband scheduled an appointment for his elbow and got scheduled with a hip dr and didn't get seen for over an hour and then the dr wasn't able to help him, and we got charged. Second time we took my daughter in to get her cast off and we weren't scheduled properly again so they wasted our time seeing the wrong doctor and I don't trust their diagnoses. Silly me. I got tangled on my dogs leash and down I went. Smack dab on the hip that has a medal pin in it. Ouch. My biggest fear was I fractured the hip but I could get up and walk so I was pretty sure nothing was broke. Nothing hurt when I was sitting down but walking was really uncomfortable so to be on the safe side I called the Clinic to get an appointment with my Doctor. The lovely person who makes appointment told me my doctor couldn't see me for 2 weeks and she suggested to be on the safe side I should go to their Urgent Care on 6th. That way they could do xrays and make an assessment and if anything was really bad I'd be seen as an emergency. No appointment necessary, but the appointment person called the Urgent Care to let them know I was coming in. Because I have been a patient of the ROC the paper work was minimal. Both the intake person and the xray tech were super nice as is Matt who is one of the PAs. Matt told me all was well. He went over the xrays with me and told me I would be limping around for awhile because the pin that was put in my hip (not by my doctor at the ROC) is too long (something I knew) and he made a follow up for two week with my Doctor and sent me home with a list of instructions. So much better then going to the Emergency Room. In and out in about 40 minutes. Needless to say I was greatly relieved to know that nothing was broken. The Clinic on 6th St is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m Monday thru Friday. That might be the only draw back since many people get injured over a week-end. They have a private lot in the back of the building with spaces just for the Urgent Care. read more

ROC, the jury is still out. Having had surgery several times on my feet my experience may be jaded. It has taken me much longer to heal from what was to be a simple procedure. My toe got infected and they had me on antibiotics for over three weeks, which in turn caused problems with my entire digestive system. The wound care nurse was very concerned when she saw it. My doctor kept telling me there was no problem it just needed time to heal. It is now going on 4 months, it still hurts and I still cannot wear closed shoes. Since I have moved out of the area I will get a second opinion and might be able to change the rating. read more

Spent 3 hours in a walk in (not ROC) to be told by the doctor that my 16 month old was using her arm and it couldn't be broken even after expressing my concerns. I went in on March 5th after I dislocated my knee. The front desk and dr I saw was very helpful. I was in so much pain. After xrays they wanted me to get an MRI. They said it should just take a day or two to get approval from my insurance. After waiting a couple days I called to see if it had been approved, they told me they were still waiting. I called two more times and got the same answer. After that I called my insurance, ready to tell at them. They said the paper work wasn't submitted until 4 days after my visit and the paperwork wasn't complete. After a few more calls someone from ROC finally called back and said they fixed the error and resubmitted to my insurance... that was 4 days ago. What is going on?? Am I hurting my knee more by walking on it because ROC isn't doing their job properly? Now every time I call they transfer me to an answering service. read more
