The ladies restroom looks like a crime scene; it's so creepy. I couldn't even bring myself to walk inside to occupy it. The whole pavilion where the restrooms are housed are outdated and give off that old mildew odor. The parking lot is big, but there isn't much secluded parts to eat lunch in the car, etc. It's a small park and there is one main area with watering hole. The park isn't as frequent. The other time I've been here was when my dad wanted to put his kayak in the lake to "test". I like that there's a trail that covers the perimeter of the lake. Despite being a small park, it doesn't get as packed because there's three other parks in the area: Stevenson, Lynn Gripon, Challenger 7. There's not much shade unfortunately so walking in the summer can be a heat bath of sweat. Watch out for the dog poop splatter on the boardwalk since we have careless dog owners who won't pick up their dog feces. Overall, a decent park to walk off 4 miles easily.

The running trail seems to be about .8 miles a lap, with markers for 5 and 10k runs. You will see plenty of turtles and ducks, the fishing is decent, expect to catch catfish. This park doesn't have it all, but it's a good mid size park with friendly people. Dog owners can be annoying, especially those with pits bulls, and the ones that don't pick up after their dogs . Unfortunately not everyone disposes of their trash property and this results in little on the banks of the lake. At night don't be surprised if you see some rats (nature), and plenty of duck poop which can be surprisingly large . Bonus: there is a good size hill on the south side of the park, it is good for climbing, rolling, and uphill sprints. Have fun!

Speaking of nature, I spotted a turtle, a male cardinal, a seagull, lots of moss, mushrooms, and tiger swallowtail butterfly. Beautiful artwork of birds near the parking lot. At regular pace, the paths are 1.7 miles. Very accessible and handicapped safe. The restrooms are in front of the parking lot. I always knew it was here, and we actually stopped by here one year around Christmas time as they decorate the little gazebo with white lights. It's very pretty, and very romantic, but after that time I sorta forgot it was here. Yesterday though I was on a long run and decided to see if this park has a running trail. And it does! It's only 1/4 of a mile but a lot of it is shady (nice!) and I love the surface! It's not gravel like Texas Avenue and it's softer than asphalt. It feels like the surface that's on an actual track. And bonus, there's NOBODY here. If you want a quiet, solitary run, come here! There was one lady and her young child at the playground area and as I was leaving another runner came along. That's it. Maybe it gets busier later, or at different time, I don't know. Now granted, this is a small park. No bathrooms, no water fountains, and just a couple little playground areas. But lots of picnic tables and benches and the nice gazebo, and of course the little track. But for a nice little quiet run in a nice little quiet neighborhood, this is the place to be! I know I will be back!

I was introduced yesterday by my sibling. I told her that it reminded me of Arthur Storey park, but it's almost like a miniature Buffalo Bayou with the plenty of watering holes that you can go fishing, but it's catch and release. The walking trails are a bit of a labyrinth with it's different directions. I'm sure you can burn off all the calories your heart desires. There aren't any physical benches, but use your imagination; sit on a rock along the water bank and watch the ducks, but don't allow your children to taunt the innocent creatures. I like how the trails aren't linear slope, but some of the paths are a bit steep, but not too much. Easy level of walking across the board. The parking situation is a bit awkward with two lots that near the curve, but there's a full parking lot that can hold a few vehicles. There aren't many shaded areas so bring plenty of water and wear sun blocking clothing if you have sensitive skin in this Texas heat bath!
