The play equipment is a little old and showing signs of use (understandably) but still totally functional. There's a play area for toddlers that has a canvas cover and a larger play area for older kids. There's also a tall structure with slides, swings, tennis courts and a pool. Parking was easy and there was an open grassy area for team sports with some scattered benches and trees. The play area had mulched rubber instead of woodchips which I'm a fan of (those woodchips get everywhere!). Overall this park was a-okay, we might put it in rotation but there are better in the area.

The biggest highlight is the herb garden; I just love the scent that the garden gives off..its so refreshing. The play area for adults are just two swings near the children's playground. Sitting areas are all throughout the forest which is nice for relaxation. The only thing I had a problem with is the racial profiling I received from an Asian family; it was beyond disrespectful and I wasn't doing anything wrong at all. I was just walking to the swings and these people suspected that I was going to steal their children. Now, the Caucasians here didn't give me a problem; they were actually pretty friendly.

There are many areas of the path that are slightly uneven. The asphalt is starting to show wear and tear. There are not obvious pot holes along the running area but it is slightly uneven. Pay attention to where you are stepping so you don't end up with a sprained ankle. There are some parts of the path where you will be walking on the road. If you are not walking or running, there is a playground area and a multi-purpose field. There are also pavilions that can be used. I would assume they can be reserved but I do not know that for a fact. It is dog friendly but is not considered a dog park. All pets should be kept on leashes. Bottom line: A decent urban park located in Friendswood. Decent running trails but are starting to show their age. Could use an upgrade. Upgrades could result in more stars. Until then, I'll give them three stars.

The ladies restroom looks like a crime scene; it's so creepy. I couldn't even bring myself to walk inside to occupy it. The random tunnel in the ceiling and the overly large giant old fashioned AC unit above the poorly lit stalls. I know I got an eerie feeling about it, so I immediately left. The whole pavilion where the restrooms are housed are outdated and give off that old mildew odor. The parking lot is big, but there isn't much secluded parts to eat lunch in the car, etc. It's a small park and there is one main area with watering hole. The park isn't as frequent. They were kind of disappointed with the size of the playground. Pales in comparison with Challenger 7 Memorial Park. Just one medium/large play structure with two slides and some monkey bars. Yes, you will need to walk a couple of miles to get there, but of course you will eventually get there. The path isn't that narrow; it doesn't hurt to walk in the grass when someone with a bike is travelling through. The scenery is alright; there isn't much. You have the bayou that runs between. If you are walking left towards Dixie Farm Park then you will run into Weber Elementary on the opposite side there are KB homes that all look the same. If you walk towards the right then you will find the backyards of some Sagemont houses; also you'll notice the path elevation change and you find yourself walking under a bridge. This park has been in the neighborhood for a good while; it was surely there when I was a kid. I love the fact that I live so near the park that I don't even have to drive here. I can just start walking from my house; burn a lot of calories and lose some more weight! That's the best! Though, no dog parks here; just walk your baby instead.

A pond surrounds the pool area. Home to the local ducks, which are fun to watch, and will chase you if they smell a morsel of food on you. Home to just as many turtles too, and they won't chase you no matter what you smell like. Sadly, also home to the litter left behind by the less considerate of our local parks and environment. The covered basketball area seems to be quite popular. We usually hang across the way, at the playground, on days that soccer isn't involved. Most importantly, the park grounds could really use some tender loving care. Sometimes even the ducks need TLC. I've seen some sickly ones because of the litter. I've made my complaints directly to park personnel. In all of the years we been coming here, we've never used the porta potties. If I or the kids gotta go, we gotta leave.
