It's crowded at the entrance door and people can easily see your information and the two people at the front desk are preoccupied and barely look up while you're trying to figure out their electronic check in . Many of their elderly patients I'm certain have difficulty with this method of checking in. There is no medical staff that greets you other than the MD himself who performs all the pre appointment checks( BP weight etc) normally done by a nurse or assistant This actually limits the actual time spent discussing your real issues or the reason for your visit,They suggest that it gives them more time with the patient but it does not. They could spend more time doing what the patient is there for by having these things done in advance of there coming in. Bedside manner is lacking as well as thoroughness and timeliness. When having difficulty with a prescription it took 4 days for them to respond, the second time I needed a prescription after two days of not hearing from my pharmacy I called to find out that it had not been submitted but sitting on the MDs desk to review when it was he who suggested the prescription. Now a days I personally do not have enough time left in my life to wait for these people to get a handle on things. I'm certain they will work it out I just don't have the time or patience to wait

From the owner: Welcome to Primary Care at Atracare Health…read more I love the positive energy here at Atracare. I can't wait for our patients to come in and see for themselves. I am so proud to be joining an innovative, talented team of individuals whose vision and mission is to bring unequaled medical care to our citizens here in Sussex County. Not only is our gorgeous brand-new medical facility modern and fresh, so is our mindset. We aspire to deliver care that is top-quality and comprehensive, and we are dedicated to making it accessible, convenient and easy to navigate for your whole family. I came to Lewes to practice family medicine in 2006 after visiting my parents who had retired here and becoming smitten with the region and the community. My journey prior included an undergraduate engineering degree and medical training at the University of Pennsylvania (now the Perelman) School of Medicine and Thomas Jefferson University Family Medicine residency program, the combination to which I attribute my problem-solving and diagnostic skills. I then spent over 6 years in rural Iowa during which, out of necessity, I acquired a wide range of general medicine skills and practical knowledge. My time there included many hours as the only physician present in the ER or ICU setting. I am so fortunate to have had the training and experience to be your advocate in health...

However, I won't be going back because some members of the office staff are so incredibly rude. In addition, when you call during office hours you typically get VM, then they don't consistently return calls. It took me 5 1/2 weeks, 2 phone calls and a written request to finally get my routine lab results. I was treated very disrespectfully by an office staff person when I made an honest mistake about a test I was having. She used a loud, aggressive tone....the most unprofessional behavior I've seen in any doctor's office.

They took as many tests as insurance would allow and referred us to this practice to get an MRI. The hospital gave us medicine for pain, swelling and muscle relaxer. The instructions from the hospital said he needed an MRI immediately. It took over two weeks to get in to see someone. The doctor would not do an MRI and barely examined him at all and gave my husband a shot of cortisone to the knee. The shot never worked at all. We received better care at the Hospital. We walked out with no diagnosis and a script for a muscle relaxer and a guess that it was a torn meniscus. They suggested physical therapy but in the absence of a real diagnosis it is ridiculous. We are now going to a wonderful real Doctor and getting an MRI. Do yourself a favor-if you need an Orthopedic Doctor skip this practice-it is expensive Assembly Line Medicine and not real care.
