This sudden and irrational reaction not only breached the terms of the agreement but also raised serious questions about the contractor's reliability and professionalism. Such behavior was not only inconvenient but also cast doubt on the contractor's credibility and trustworthiness in handling responsibilities that involve standard industry practices like insurance assessments. I called every roofing contractor in the Reno/Sparks area and soon realized that not only is RC Roofing extremely unprofessional and unreliable but also overpriced. My advice to anyone who needs a new roof or repair would be to shop around before settling for RC Roofing.

It's a 12-year-old roof with 3-tab shingles, and I thought I would need a roof replacement because those shingles are no longer made, and I couldn't find them anywhere locally. David, the owner, came out, and instead of giving me an estimate for a new roof, he said he would try to find shingles and repair it. Within 24 hours, he located shingles and repaired the roof. The only replacement shingles he could get were brown, so he painted them after attaching them. If you look at this picture, you'll see that it's dang hard to see which shingles are the replacement ones. Comparing High Mountain to other roofing companies, two companies gave me email estimates for a new roof without even coming out, and a third company said they could repair it, but the estimate was $2,500 because they wanted to add a roofing treatment, which I considered unnecessary. My bill with High Mountain Roofing was less than $700. I am elated!

There was a needless wall cutting off the space from the living room & a dropped ceiling with ugly florescent lighting, but no other structural reason for the dropped ceiling. We wanted to get rid of the wall & dropped ceiling & have a new ceiling in line with the rest of the living room. My husband toyed with the idea of doing it himself, but I was concerned with the electrical work (a switch needed to be moved from the eliminated wall, can lights & pendants installed). Several contractors never even returned our call asking for estimates; one came & gave a reasonable estimate, then called back & doubled his price. Paul came out, gave a reasonable estimate & said he could start the job the next week. He started demo work on Monday & the job was finished on Friday! And that included him bringing in other guys for drywall & finishing work on the new ceiling. We're going to finish off the work we can (painting & hanging new light fixtures) to save a little money, but we were thrilled with the work from Black Rock; would definitely call them again in the future!

When we first met Marcos, he came across as extremely friendly, professional, and straightforward--no sales fluff, just honest talk about the project. That immediately put us at ease. We did our due diligence and checked the references he provided. Everyone raved about him, but one gentleman's comment really stuck with us: "If you can get Marcos, you need to get him and sign him. Do not have any other framer frame your house." That turned out to be 100% accurate. Marcos and his crew were on time every single morning, left the job site cleaner than they found it, and their work was impeccable. Our home is truly "plumb, level, and square" just like the company name promises. Every wall, every corner, every detail is spot-on. We also had a general contractor overseeing the project, and he was meticulously inspecting their work daily. He couldn't stop singing Marcos's praises to us, telling us over and over how lucky we were to have him on our job. In the end, we have a rock-solid framed structure that's perfectly prepped for all the trades coming in behind them. We couldn't be happier with the quality and the entire experience. Marcos and his crew showed up on time and they kept the neatest worksite. Our deck is top knotch! The foundation and supports were built very well and Marcos took time to be sure he had the correct footings and tied it it our house. Another company was just going to float it on our existing concrete which we found out later was pretty thin. This crew has experience and I'm so thankful we were able to have them build our deck. 100% would hire again.

Unfortunately, one of the toilets has never functioned properly--it constantly runs and struggles to flush. Despite John returning several times, the problem was never resolved. We later hired John for other odd jobs, including installing a garbage disposal and fixing water backup into our dishwasher. As always, he was punctual and friendly. However, the garbage disposal was installed incorrectly, which caused new problems. He also accidentally caused some minor floor barrier damage while working in that area. To his credit, he offered to repair the damage right away, but I declined because I appreciated his willingness to help. The next day, when the water backup issue continued, we called him back. To our surprise, he asked for MORE money to revisit the SAME problem he had originally been paid to fix. Even after paying again, the issue still wasn't fixed. We ultimately had to hire another company, who immediately discovered that John had not removed the knockout plug or connected the dishwasher properly--something very basic for that type of installation. Overall, while John is personable and punctual, I cannot recommend him due to repeated problems, additional charges for unresolved issues, and ultimately needing to pay another professional to correct mistakes. Seems like an overall good guy trying to make a living but he needs to take his customers into better consideration if he would like to keep them.
