Everything always looks tempting and well-stocked, though I personally haven't tried any of the baked goods yet. I've only shopped here on Sundays due to their limited hours, but my husband often comes during the workweek and says it can get extremely busy, especially during peak times. Checkout options include self-checkout lanes as well as assisted checkout lines. The assisted lanes come with friendly cashiers and incredibly hardworking baggers--usually older women--who bag your groceries and insist on taking them out to your car and loading them for you. If you choose this option, be sure to bring cash for tipping, as opting out isn't really an option once you're in those lines. Because of this, many shoppers avoid assisted checkout altogether and prefer to wait longer at self-checkout so they can bag their own items. The commissary offers a wide selection of products, including salads, vegetables, beverages, personal care items, desserts, frozen entrees, meat, and poultry. Plenty of checkout areas exist; however, a waiting line forms, which becomes busy with service personnel and others attempting to avoid peak hours. Personnel are available to assist with bagging groceries and loading them into vehicles. A self-checkout option is also available to bypass lines. Try to go during off peak hours and you're golden. Commissaries are mostly standard. Unless you need brand specific, then you can find mostly anything. Checking out needs work. People of varying levels of technical skill take full baskets through self-checkout to avoid being guilted into tipping the bag folks so it gets congested during peak times. I love the commissary- they have products from all over the world, plus they have lower prices for military personnel. They have regular grocery products, fresh fruits and veggies, and decent meats and poultry. You must be military or retired military (not just a veteran) to shop here. 20 minutes in line just to check out eggs. I would recommend buying your food from somewhere that has more employees ringing at registers rather than waiting to earn money loading bags into your car. read more

This place had it all and cheap as dirt. In a great way. Best grocery store you can shop at. The price are on digital tags instead of paper tags. Way cool. Prices here are much cheaper than any grocery in Texas. The meat prices alone astounded me. Yet another reason to join the Military. Best amenities. read more

Good options and competitive pricing on meats. I would buy all other items at Wal-mart or Super Kroger. Not open on Mondays. Don't go on the 1st or 15th, lines will be outrageous. Early in the morning or early in the afternoon are the best times to drop in. Sushi maker is good and the lunch menu is awesome. We've been shopping here on and off since 2014 and the experience is always hit or miss. The prices in all honesty aren't that different from anywhere else and some of the baggers are very unfriendly. Whenever you decline a carry out, they act as if they wasted their time bagging your groceries because they won't be getting tipped. The fact is I'm a 24 year old woman capable of carrying out my own groceries. Why would I have a man or woman who could be my grandparent carry out my groceries for me?! I have been a courtesy clerk(bager) at this commissary for the last 6 months. Now let me tell you about this place. The bagers mostly consist of 70% or more of Asian decent and hardly English. They basically run the people who bag groceries, they are the worse individuals I have ever met to be honest. They talk about me and other people in a different language and nothing is done by administration to fix this. The prices at the commissary are undeniably better then anywhere else but the people who run the commissary are just nasty people. The bathrooms have literally never been cleaned. I see the lady who is responsible for cleaning them every day she comes in bathroom and marks her name on the work list in the bath room and leaves. Cashiers throw and slam groceries on the belt but will sometimes ask you if you want a new item. read more
