It's a small shop, but there is a TON to look at. Lots of small stuff, some furniture, clothing, dinnerware, lots of toys (super fun!), and just about anything you can think of. We came back a second time a few weeks ago and there was lots more since the last time. We found some great records, an amazing Ralph Macchio poster, some vintage notecards, a Nancy Drew book, and some beautiful vintage valentines-- I loved those the best. I'm excited to come back again next time, hopefully there are new things to find!

Even with the 50% sale and taking 2 separate days to walk around the store i was only able to come up with a handful of items that i would buy. Not necessarily because of the price but rather i just didn't think most of what they had was worth buying. There were some items that i thought the prices were just way too high but not really many of them. Not a great spot for a store, i wish them the best but probably wouldn't make a special trip out here any time soon, especially if they aren't running their 50% off sale.

The shoes and t-shirt were Wal-Mart brand items. An elderly woman was looking for a blanket or quilt for her dog. There was a fake sheepskin, brown, worn out, stained blanket marked $39.99. The woman said that she had to look 3 times at the price because she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. Something isn't right there... Not sure if it's the management or an employee marking the items at these prices, but it's wrong, crazy and unfortunate. We visited a Salvation Army store in Portsmouth, NH and filled a giant bag with shoes, clothing, a giant crockpot, and other various items for $35 bucks a few weeks ago and most of the items were brand new with the store tags still attached. Out of curiosity, we took a ride over to the big Fitchburg Salvation Army and wow!! What a price difference! How can the prices differ so much between the stores? Why is Gardner overpriced by so much?? Skip Gardner and go over to Fitchburg, Turners Falls, Greenfield or Hadley next time. Worth the drive!

Service was awful. When I called weeks ago they said I need to make an appointment. The first one…read moreavailable was today May 15 at 2:00 pm. When I got there nobody greeted me so I went to the counter and the woman said that I was at the wrong counter so she pointed to another counter. Nobody was there so I was holding all my clothes that I was bringing to put there. Finally a woman came and said I needed to fill out a form and to leave the clothes. Their brochure said "Consignors can set up an appointment to meet with a staff member" so I was surprised that I wasn't meeting with anyone after having to set up an APPOINTMENT so I asked when I would hear. She said "set your clock for an hour and return". When I got home 15 minutes I got a call that asked me to come back to pick up my clothes because they weren't going to accept them. They could have done that right at my APPOINTMENT and saved me a lot of time. The main reason that they didn't accept my clothes was because they were too big. It would have been nice to have indicated that in their brochure so I didn't have to be embarrassed on top of my frustration with the whole process!
