Totally stopped in to this shop on a whim. Aren't we glad we did! We've gotten to know the owner and probably stop by once-a-month as we travel through the area. Great and ever-changing collection of mid-century stuff --- furniture that was in your grandparents house, posters that were on your big-sister's wall, the obligatory Mickey Mouse telephone, they have it all. We're big into board games, and they have those, too --- well, they have the few we haven't bought yet. Nice shop, nice people. read more

Love this shop so much. My sister is a huge 80s fan and we stopped in last fall for the first time after finding this place on Yelp. We spent at least an hour perusing. It's a small shop, but there is a TON to look at. Lots of small stuff, some furniture, clothing, dinnerware, lots of toys (super fun!), and just about anything you can think of. We came back a second time a few weeks ago and there was lots more since the last time. We found some great records, an amazing Ralph Macchio poster, some vintage notecards, a Nancy Drew book, and some beautiful vintage valentines-- I loved those the best. I'm excited to come back again next time, hopefully there are new things to find! read more

One of my favorite places. Endless stream of eclectic mix of items, which at the very least is fun to walk through and see. The furniture is priced really reasonably and every now and then there is some free stuff in the parking lot. Very friendly and nice couple that own this place treat you like a guest in your home when you come in. Good mix of midcentury modern to the 80s and plenty of melamine glassware. read more

What a pleasant surprise when I opened the door. Great array of 60's 70's and 80's pop culture items. I was drawn to the 80's items. I used to love this store. I have spent quite a bit of money over the years in this store. When it came time for me to sell some items, I contacted the owner several times. She would respond that she would get back to me, but she never did. I would wait patiently for a few weeks, reach out again. I can see she saw my messages, why not be professional and respond? I had a very unpleasant experience and interaction with the owner, Kara, of The Melamine Cup. I have been to her shop numerous times over the last 4 years, driving in from Boston, a one and a half hour trip each way and have made many purchases, totaling upwards of $800 at her shop. A couple of weeks ago, I messaged her on FB that I wanted to buy a quilt and matching set of curtain panels. She responded that she would tell me the dimensions of the curtain panels the next day. So the understanding (as has been before) was that I would pay for the items once I heard from her. The next day, she sent me a message at 12.30pm with the dimensions of the curtains, (which I missed because I was out) and 5 minutes after that sent me another message that they were sold!I went to the store this week to pick up other items I had paid for, and I asked her why she had chosen to sell the items that I had committed to buy. She defended herself saying that unless items are paid for she cannot hold them, which is totally the opposite of what the initial conversation was about. And at one point she became upset and accused me of being confrontational and even went so far as to say that my items were all wrapped up and I was welcome to take them (the unspoken message being I should leave!)This is how she chose to treat a loyal customer. While her FB posts portray otherwise, she conducts her business in an arbitrary and unfair manner. The way she spoke to me was rude and offensive. I have no clue what set her off and why she chose to turn on a good customer like me but there it is. While there are some who would attest to how great a person she is (going bythe heart emojis that pepper her posts), there are also others (like me) who see a different side of her. And she doesn't wear a mask! read more

I had an unfortunate experience with this business, The Melamine Cup. Last week the owner committed via email, to purchase a piece of furniture from me to be picked up this Wednesday, 8/5. She indicated that she would contact me Sunday to set a time. As a consequence I considered the item sold and removed it from all other sales postings. Last evening she contacted me to back out of the sale saying she didn't have room for the furniture. Be aware that any agreements from this business may not be honored. Very poor way to build goodwill in the community. read more

The Melamine Cup boasts it purveys mid century modern, vintage and nostalgic items. While I am not much into "retro" furnishings and items, the nostalgic items did send me back in the time machine of my mind! My sister and two friends accompanied me on this voyage of discovery! My sister bought a dark blue "naugahyde" couch in excellent condition, as well as a vintage radio. In another room, she also scored a set of four stainless steel and vinyl 1950's chairs for her kitchen table for $30, as well as a retro gravy boat. I fell in love with the selection of used Levi's jean jackets in the back of the room and found one that fits perfectly for $25. In a display case, I saw a fimo clay like square jar with a white unicorn on top, much like I had when I was 12. I scored that baby for $5 for my 6 year old daughter. They also had some Better Homes & Gardens furniture, just like the ones I had way back in the early 80's. Wish I still had the doll house! And alas, some awesome sneaker roller skates just didn't fit. I suggest checking out their online gallery on their website to see a selection of what they sell. read more

I have been a collector of mid-century modern furniture for years and have followed this shop for ages, but hadn't made it to the store because it's two hours away. Over the past few days the owner has posted numerous pieces of furniture on IG and I attempted to contact her regarding purchasing several items. She did not get back to me so my boyfriend and I decided to make a day trip out of it and visit the store. When we arrived there was a trailer parked directly in front of the store and two men were loading a dresser into it. We entered the store and began looking around, going into a second room off to the left. A blond woman stood there on the phone, discussing the furniture she was buying. We heard her speaking about reselling the furniture she was buying for several thousand dollars and negotiating a business deal. I went to look at a dresser when she rudely stated "That's sold. Don't touch it." She proceeded to say this to us several more times, about nearly every piece of furniture in the store. She also stated "The owner isn't here, she'll be right back." It became obvious that this woman was a customer who was buying furniture at cheap prices only to resell it for 10x more than the price she was paying. We looked around for several minutes and ultimately left because this woman was so rude, obnoxious, and massless. The owner never showed up, and it was a really a miserable experience. People like this customer driving mid-century pieces prices up like this make it near impossible for everyone to enjoy the history of it. We ended up driving two hours home empty handed, and frankly the experience was so off-putting. This is NOT a reflection of the owner. Clearly owners can't control who their customers are. We left because of how uncomfortable our experience was, and it's possible the owner has no idea that their pieces are just being resold. Personally, however, it would seem the owner knows this person because they left this customer alone in the shop. I do hope the owner(s) read this. It seems like they invest heavily in the store and keep their prices reasonable. read more

I would really recommend this store. Lots of very good items, but the best to for me was customer services. I went in with a toddler, and they had space for her to play while I was looking for hidden treasures. Not only the owner was friendly but me me feel welcomed. She was amazing!!!!
