Great and ever-changing collection of mid-century stuff --- furniture that was in your grandparents house, posters that were on your big-sister's wall, the obligatory Mickey Mouse telephone, they have it all. We're big into board games, and they have those, too --- well, they have the few we haven't bought yet. Nice shop, nice people.

It's a small shop, but there is a TON to look at. Lots of small stuff, some furniture, clothing, dinnerware, lots of toys (super fun!), and just about anything you can think of. We came back a second time a few weeks ago and there was lots more since the last time. We found some great records, an amazing Ralph Macchio poster, some vintage notecards, a Nancy Drew book, and some beautiful vintage valentines-- I loved those the best. I'm excited to come back again next time, hopefully there are new things to find!

I usually hesitate to go into an Ethan Allen because (as a bargain shopper who is there to look at…read moretheir discount floor models) I am usually made to feel unwelcome. For example if you go to the Burlington or Natick Massachusetts stores the hungry designers will almost chase you out with torches & pitchforks. I have moved a lot because I'm a hobbyist flipper and that means I'm cheap but I buy a lot. What a pleasant surprise that the staff at the Bedford New Hampshire store let me treasure hunt and find this awesome chandelier!! The logistics manager Dean showed me that its paperwork shows that it used to be a display in the old, closed down Ethan Allen that is literally over the town line on the street I live on. I guess it wanted to come home. The designer Verlie was very nice to me and didn't make me feel like a scavenger for discount shopping. The Ethan Allen company could learn a lot from this location.

I've been shopping at the Peterborough Achille Agway for about five years now…read more I like the store and they carry products hard to find in the area, but I think the attitude of the employees at the registers could improve a little bit. I find that the employees are more than happy to chat and with the foofy Peterborough townies and people they know, but more times then none, when you get to the register, it's either no dialogue at all, or they seemed pained to engage in small talk. In some cases, they'll just ignore what you're saying all together. In contrast, the woman who runs the garden center is very nice, outgoing, always smiling, and very helpful. Now that Agway has big box competition in Rindge, you would think they would take this into consideration and make sure their customer service is competitive. Agway is a great store, with many great products, but their customer service and the attitudes of some of their employees need serious improvement.

Got there and didn't see them so I asked an associate where I could find them. "I have no idea, it's my first day." Fair enough, maybe it's not in the job description to assist customers. I want back in to ask about bulk pea gravel. No one available. The only helpful person happened to be the truck driver to tried to find the assistant manager for without luck. Huge waste of time.
