Let me start by saying that Dr Semegran provides a thorough eye examination. She goes over and beyond any eye doctor. Her assistant is excellent for help. As for the rest of the team....worthless. This practice is owned by another business now. This staff does nothing. I was in to get my eye exam. I needed new glasses. I brought the frame with me. The tested me and sent the frame out. They told me the date it was to come back. Two weeks later I still had no glasses. I was told they would be there the following week. Next week I kept calling and asking. The individual to help did nothing. "Oh, they are coming" he said. Finally I called on Thursday and he said they were in the next morning. Of course, the glasses were damaged now he said. They did not have these frames so I would have to call where I got them in London. I said just give me the glasses back and I needed a refund. I went back the next day and he was gone. The glasses vanished. Everyone did not answer anything. I now need to call the insurance company to get the money back. This staff is terrible. The doctor was ideal. I will just find another doctor now. Maybe this company is as blind as a bat. read more

Dr. Semegran is great. She is very pleasant. I have been with her during Covid. She was the only one to take me in as a new patient. Choosing glasses is very easy. She is really helpful and patient, also knowledgeable. This year I had a car accident and she suggested some testing and prescribed some medication that made me feel relieved from my eye pain. With my concussion she was super empathetic and I could feel she genuinely helped me. Dr. Semegran is more of a saleswoman than an eye doctor. I went to Dr. Semegran for my first eye doctor visit in 11 years and she knew that. I was looking for information, but Dr. Semegran took this as an opportunity to take advantage of an uninformed client. Everything that she said would be best for my eyes was simply the most expensive version of each item. I knew what the cost of the frames were because they were listed on the frames but she did not tell me the other costs (lenses + lens protection + anti-glare + warranty) until she swiped my credit card. Before I knew it, I was spending $400 at her office. Initially I did not care about the price because I am someone who will spend more money for comfort and fashion, but then I learned that she gave me bad information. I went into the office weighing the options of glasses vs lasik surgery, so I asked what she thought about Lasik surgery. Dr. Semegran told me that I need a prescription for at least two years before I can get Lasik, but I went to two consultations on the same day my visit with her and neither doctor said that I needed that and would have scheduled my surgery for as early as three weeks from the consultation date. You are not a patient to Dr. Semegran, you are a dollar sign. To add to the lack of professionalism of Dr. Semegran, she dilated my eyes and did not tell me. Again, I have not been to the eye doctor in 11 years so I thought that my eyes simply felt "funky" and would be fine soon after the visit. Once I stepped outside to drive home, I could not see the yellow lines in the middle of the road and the sun was making my eyes water. Thank God I had a pair of glasses to go home with otherwise I could have been seriously injured. I left at 12:15pm and could not see straight again until the sun went down without any warning from Dr. Semegran. Can I give less than one star? I went to this place with an emergency about 2 hours before I got paid. I had dropped a piece of sharp plastic in my eye, I got what I felt like was most of it out but was still irritated, knowing that my eyes are important I panicked and went to see them to see if they would look at it for me just to make sure it was all out of my eye. I told them I didn't have any money to give them upfront, but that I was getting paid at 3 pm and that I would leave my debit card number for them, I just really wanted it to be checked out. I even work in the plaza and some of her employees are regulars at the deli i work for. The doctor came out and basically told me to fuck myself and wouldn't even help me when I was seriously worried about my eyes. Dr. Semegram gives an excellent eye exam. No unnecessary waiting she is true to her schedule. Her selection of frames surpasses any optical store. The only downfall - really not a downfall- but she is in Palisades Park every other Saturday. Don't live in the area so need Saturday appointment. I have been seeing Dr. Semegran for quite a while now. I had an issue years ago that she caught, which led to surgery to remedy it with someone else she recommended. It was an easy and stress free process overall. I continue to see her on a regular basis to monitor things and wouldn't trust my eyes to anyone else. She is thorough with her exams, always on time and just a really nice person. I also love Linda, the receptionist there, who is friendly and very sweet. She is always great about giving me a confirmation call before appointments, which I absolutely appreciate (actually, it's usually 2....1 about a week before and another the day before).
