R-M was chosen by our builder to design and install the HVAC systems. There was a defect in how the system was designed. After the designer suggested that I buy additional equipment to take care of the problem, I spoke to the owner who had some remedial work done, without additional charge and apologized for what his employee had suggested. More recently, a technician came out to fix a problem. He said that the previous fix didn't completely fix the original problem. The current owner, son of the previous one, made all sorts of excuses and said the solution was to buy still more equipment. The company has high rates, ridiculous add-on fees and doesn't stand by its work. Stay clear. read more

Greg an experienced HVAC professional came out to do my furnace tune up right on the nose at 6:30am. He was very knowledgeable showed me some other things about my humidifier and maintenance for my drain pipes. He did a tune up and combustion analysis that determined the efficiency of my furnace, the CO output etc., Would do business with them again. read more

Robertson Morrison installed a new HVAC unit in my place in 2013. I have just found out that they installed the drain pipe incorrectly, causing it to leak into my downstairs neighbors' unit. They also left a broken T junction on the master drain pipe, which would allow water from upstairs to leak into mine. Needless to say I won't be asking for work from RM again. read more

I had a problem with my furnace cutting out AGAIN this Fall and it was fixed last year by a different vendor. They had told me I needed a new furnace and would only install Lennox. I grew suspicious. I am a handy guy - but I no longer have a voltmeter/tester and I could not diagnose my problem completely. DEAN arrived from Rob-Mor and quickly found the bad part ($12) and the furnace is running like new. We've had Robertson Morrison assist us with our heating and cooling needs for years now. They've always shown a strong commitment to us as a customer and demonstrated top notch expertise. Twice in the past ten years we've had sudden failures of our air conditioning unit on a rental property that we own and Robertson Morrison was out within 24 hours to replace the unit. Both times they responded immediately and solved the issue with minimal involvement from us. On our own home they've been out multiple times to diagnose airflow issues that leave areas of the house colder than we'd like. In these cases they've demonstrated vast knowledge for heating and cooling and helped us balance the temperatures to our comfort level. Recently we had a zoning system installed by them which has not only made our house more comfortable, but installation was quick and easy. Their professional team showed up on time, installed the system quickly and then spent ample time teaching us how to use the new thermostat and walk us through how the system works. Out air conditioner quit and we didn't know who to call. So after talking with a couple of friends they recommended Robertson Morrison and we called yesterday and they had a tech out here today before noon. Michael was very knowledgeable, professional and very nice and fixed the problem, (a deteriorated wire that kept blowing the low voltage transformer) within a couple of hours and we are now enjoying the nice cool air. Our system is 20 years old but there was no pressure to replace it and he just did his job and fixed the situation. We recently called Robertson Morrison to service our generator prior to the sale of our home. They are not our normal provider. The service was prompt and got our equipment back in order. The markup costs of their work were higher than our normal provider but we were willing to pay a professional to get the job done. Their service technician, Jeff, was earnest asking about who serviced our HVAC and going on to examine our AC units and try to offer advice on these. I told him we would be moving (did not tell him we own commercial real estate with generators and still live here) but we were happy with our previous service provider. I could tell then that he assumed we were moving out of state but appreciated his "cold calling" until... He told the new homeowner lies and failed to disclose to them that he was not the normal service rep for the generator nor did he disclose the service history we provided him. He hyperbolized the context of the prior service call, failed to disclose that we had him put a new battery in place ahead of schedule in good faith when it wasn't needed and also cast blame on our respected realtor who had no part. They were that desperate for work that they malign others. Can you really trust a service technician like this? There are other classy professionals that provide great service and depict situations in their true context without maligning everyone around them. read more

I have used Robertson Morrison for my HVAC needs for over 15 years. They consistently exceed expectations whether we needed assistance with an existing unit, a malfunctioning water heater or installation of a new system (2013). When a squirrel got into our unit outside over the weekend they had a tech out to help within an hour. We are happily on their annual service maintenance plan as well to keep our systems running smoothly. read more

Horrible. Had been a good customer. The quality of service has deteriorated. I have been a loyal patron of this business for 10 years and have gotten my semi annual check ups on my equipment, installation of a humidifier, installation of a AC compressor (which broke almost immediately after the brief warranty expired). While never really ecstatic about what was offered (eg no payment plan, poor explanations, so-so maintenance etc.) and the service offered: it was at least satisfactory. However, when a workman who did an annual maintenance left a clattering, noisy furnace door and then charged me to come and fix it, I have to say I cannot hold still. As I have had to replace the entire AC and have gotten far better service, wonderful payment plan, equipment that cools the entire house rather than just a few rooms, better estimates etc. from another local company , I would strongly recommend against this company. We had previously used Robertson Morrison for periodic maintenance of our furnace/AC and found that they cleaned everything in a satisfactory manner. Some time after that, the blower motor control failed, and since this was a 25-year old unit, we called on RM for help. They had a replacement furnace installed and running the next day, and paid extra attention to make sure there were no leaks and that we understood everything about the unit. The unit which they recommended is much more efficient than our old one. Prior to the experience with RM we had relied on a larger company in the area to install and service our furnace, with some good and some bad results. So far RM has been consistently good. read more

Robertson Morrison- Not Safe Service. In November 2015 a technician performed an Annual Heat Check on my furnace. According to his record he, "cleaned the burner + pilot". This means that the technician removed the insulated burner cover door to the burner compartment. The door to the burner compartment fell off sometime between 11/2015 and 1/2016. The door could not have been reattached properly, or it would not have fallen off. Because the door fell off, the heat from the burner was not directed through the furnace but instead into the section of the furnace with the electrical wires and into the basement. The excessive heat in the section with the wires caused the coating on the wires to melt exposing the metal. This caused a short circuit which shut off the furnace. In the technician' s 1/2016 documentation he wrote the "burner cover door fell off heat from burner compartment melted wires..." If the burner compartment door had been replaced correctly it would not have fallen off. The wires would not have melted and the furnace would not have short circuited. I believe Robertson Morrison should have take some responsibility for the burner compartment door falling off and the subsequent repairs to the furnace. After many negotiation calls and emails Robertson Morrison agreed to only waive a very small part of the fee for the second visit to finish repairing the issue. I had to pay for the original visit and repair in addition to a second fee to finish the repair so my furnace was safe. I had been a loyal customer since 2009. In July 2016 I had another issue caused from the 1/2015 Heat Check. I turned on my AC and it didn't work. I hired another company to inspect the AC. The technician found that the AC wires which also run through the compartment outside the burner door were not fixed in January when the furnace wires were fixed. This final incident lead me to write this review. I am lucky that I did not have a house fire due to the unsafe workmanship of this company. The manager in an email mentioned, "Here at Robertson Morrison we pride ourselves on providing good customer service with honesty and integrity as a core foundation behind our work." The website states the following: Doing the best possible job every time, allowing a life-time guarantee on our workmanship Operating with a 100% satisfaction commitment Being easy to do business with Positive word-of-mouth referrals, our most valuable source of business Robertson Morrison did not stand by their words or take responsibility for the burner compartment door falling off and the resulting damage. The company did not show honesty and integrity. Most importantly they created a dangerous situation in my home. read more

I highly recommend Robertson and Morrison for furnace installation, maintenance and repairs. Every point of contact with the company has exceeded standard service, from the schedulers to the installation crews and the service techs. Robertson and Morrison installed our furnace in 1997, and I confess we ignored routine maintenance until it first failed in 2013. Since then, we have had five different technicians work on our aging furnace, and they all did a fantastic job (thanks, Dal, Jeff, Brian, Jeff and Randy!). Some of the failures have been difficult to find but the techs stay on the job until the problem is solved, and they do not bill for time spent on a "red herring." For example, the last call was due to a failed pressure switch but all the diagnostic tests indicated the switch was fine. Randy worked two hours, and even replaced the "mother board" to see if that was the problem. In the end, we were billed only for the new pressure switch and less than an hour of time. Additionally, in the past, our furnace failed one month after the annual maintenance check - the tech returned and fixed the problem at no charge to us, even though the problem would not have been evident during the annual check-up. The techs also give my husband tips for maintenance that have saved us hundreds of dollars each year. Finally, no tech has accepted a gratuity from us - they happily decline - so we've stopped offering. These guys really seem to love their jobs. When it's time to install a new furnace, we will call on Robertson and Morrison to do the job. They have earned our confidence and our business. read more
