This was not acceptable as we had guests coming and I was only in town for the day. They kept saying they would try and get out that day, but a few hours later they informed me I needed a permit prior to install which was not mentioned up until that point. That put the brakes on the project of course. I would absolutely NOT recommend this company especially if you are trying to get a project done at a specific time.

Today I had the pleasure of interacting with the owner, who parked his company van in a way that completely blocked the view of oncoming traffic for anyone trying to exit the community. The car ahead of me struggled to get out, so I rolled my window down and let him know he was blocking visibility at an actual intersection. His response? "What do you want me to do?" I suggested the obvious: pull up a little so people can see. He said he couldn't because it would block the guest lane. I suggested pulling to the other side. His response? That would block the resident lane. Here's the fun part: there was no one in either lane and still about 100 feet of empty space in every direction. But apparently, basic spatial awareness and public safety were too much to ask. So instead, the owner of this company chose to block an intersection, argue about it, and refuse to move--despite being told it was dangerous. I still couldn't see oncoming traffic, and when I finally made a left turn, I almost got T-boned. If this is how this man handles a simple, common-sense situation--being made aware that he's creating a legitimate safety hazard--I can't imagine trusting him with heavy equipment, construction, or something as basic as pool maintenance. I wouldn't trust him to dig a hole in my backyard, let alone manage a pool, even if he were the last option on Earth. Unprofessional, inconsiderate, and wildly irresponsible. Hard pass.

Pete will likely reply and blame us as he has done for other negative reviews. We gave him multiple attempts to fix the problems to no avail and many times he blamed us even though we did what he asked and more. He started in October and today in February, we finally asked him not to return because enough is enough and we need to hire another company to fix his mistakes. He stated we had unrealistic expectations. He may post pictures and from afar it may look good but up close the details are messy and unprofessional at best. I still don't know the name of the project manager, let alone what he looks like, because he never showed up onsite or made any real effort to communicate throughout the build. No updates, no coordination, and no accountability. We constantly had to chase people down just to get basic answers. The attention to detail was equally disappointing. We were left with damaged and scuffed-up coping, stained decking, stained stucco -- and were essentially expected to just accept it. For a six-figure investment, the result should've been flawless. Instead, it looks like corners were cut at every stage. I'm a project coordinator in the construction industry myself, and I would never treat customers the way we were treated. The level of customer service was unacceptable. Tom, our sales rep, was great in the beginning -- friendly, helpful, and responsive. But the moment we signed the contract, we felt completely abandoned and instantly regretted choosing this company. Our biggest regret is not taking more time to research and choose a pool builder that actually values communication, craftsmanship, and customer experience. What's even more concerning is that I've posted this review twice on Google -- and both times it was hidden. It seems they're actively burying recent negative reviews to protect their image. Welcome to a January through April 2026 story of "two-leak" leak detecting and leak stopping in my…read more40-year-old in-ground pool: Let's start with a make-sure note pertaining to ALD's warranty: Make sure to hire a pool repair company that Aaron's recommends when ALD detects a leak that requires repair that ALD is not set up to do. Read on for the story about two-leaks .... & ALD's warranty: During December 2025 and early January 2026, I noticed unusually rapid water level dropping in my pool; my pool-knowledgeable neighbor suggested that I ask ALD to detect the leaks. Over the phone ALD agreed with me that my pool's 0.39 inches per day rate of water level (averaged over a week during our cool & no-rain January) warranted a leak detection by their skilled colleagues. A few days later one of ALD's leak detection experts found a sizeable crack in sidewall of my pool and temporarily epoxy-patched it, cautioning me that this epoxy patch was only temporary and that I should seek a permanent repair by one of their approved contractors on a list that he gave me. During the next few days, the pool continued to leak at same rate as before this temporary patch, thus validating ALD's guidance to seek permanent repair from an ALD approved contractor. So, I did. Within a few days ALD's approved contractor Aquaworks permanently repaired the sidewall crack; during subsequent week the pool leaked at 85% of the leakage rate before this permanent repair, thus indicating that significant leaking persisted. So, ALD warranty time. After I informed ALD that significant leaking persisted and that I had retained an ALD-approved contractor to repair the crack that caused the first leak they detected, ALD promptly sent an expert to detect additional leaking. ALD's expert found that Aquaworks had properly sealed the wall crack, and he found a leak in the main drain at bottom of pool's deep end. After he carefully epoxy-plugged that main drain leak (scuba gear required!), my pool's rate of water level dropping during a warmer March week reduced to less than 0.2 inches per day, within a rate typically caused by evaporation. As of end of April, pool water level reduction rates remain at evaporation rates. Many thanks to ALD for their diligent and persistent efforts to find and fix two leaks that attacked my 40-year-old pool. Note to self (& other prospective ALD customers): Retain a pool repair company that ALD recommends when they find a leak that requires significant repair. Cooperate with ALD and they'll cooperate with you.
