Robbie provides a holistic approach to PT...... instead of immediately going for a knee replacement, I made an appointment with him, and he figured out that my gait was off, and correcting this problem through stretching, strengthening and practice has absolutely improved the pain I have been in for over 2 years! I've never written a Yelp review but felt compelled to after seeing the unfathomably low rating for this business. If I were able to give them 1,000 stars I would. Bear with the length and a bit of the love fest. I've been seeing them for over two years now and don't plan on stopping. I'd recommend googling them to see ratings from other sites. Being a long-time sufferer of Rheumatoid arthritis and having several surgeries I've been to my fair share of PT offices. Over the years, I've grown so tired of the PT model in use in many of these facilities. If you've been to PT you know what I'm talking about. They have you ride a bike, do some exercises, and stretch yourself, and they may use the e-stim. You MAY spend a few precious minutes of one-on-one time with your therapist but that was never the norm. In one therapy session at one of these facilities, I asked my therapist if they could do anything to help the throbbing pain in my glutes, she said "No". NO???!!! I just thought, why in the heck are you here lady??? Better yet, why am I here?? Needless to say, they never got the bottom of the issue. After sharing my story with a friend, they recommended Roberts PT in the summer of 2017 and skeptically I made my appointment. My initial appoint was ONE HOUR LONG of one-on-one time with my therapist. This was different but I was still expecting the same old same old. My next appointment I spent 30 MINUTES of hands-on one-on-one time with my therapist. Afterward, he showed me to the back where techs (they are young because most of them are in college studying to be PT's) walked me through ALL of my exercises, then THEY stretched me out and applied heat or ice as needed, with a wonderful leg wedge and a blanket if requested. Ahhhh This is the routine, each and every time, without fail! Thirty minutes with the PT, techs helping me with my exercises, stretching me out, ice and heat. This is the kind of therapy my body has needed for so long! And guess what NO E-STIM, EVER!! They have been the single best non-medicinal pain control method I have found, hands down. I've seen EVERY PT in the office, have my favorites, but each and every one of them has treated me with kindness and respect. They NEVER gave up on me AND created a tailor-made workout routine for me to use at my gym! When my insurance said they wouldn't cover treatment anymore, Vic took care of it because my coverage has UNLIMITED visits! I've gotten several of the best deep tissue therapeutic massages I've ever had (Paige, Stefan, and Alex). Another great perk is the massage therapists (some student) work hand-in-hand with your therapist to make sure the therapy continues through massage. I typically see Alex for massages. He's great. My son, a competitive swimmer, has been getting massages from Alex too. Alex gives him tips on specific stretches that help keep his muscles limber. I recommend this place of business 100 times over to anyone and everyone who needs help getting back to well. I carry my therapist's business cards with me and hand them out if someone needs them. They have helped me change my life!!! read more

Absolutely horrible! I completely agree with everyone who says they're running an insurance scam. I began seeing them after a car accident that resulted in a MTBI (mild traumatic brain injury). At first I was only being charged $25 copays. Once they figured out it was related to a car accident & insurance claim, I was yelled at in the lobby by Paige, the owner's wife (in front of other patients) and was back charged over $400 per visit. All in all, they made over $18,000 off of me once my settlement came in. Scott is incredibly unprofessional and allows high school students to observe his work (where patients could be partially/mostly undressed). I received dry needling in my hips (so my pants were down) and I was asked AFTER the high school male student had entered the room, if it was okay for him to observe. He had ALREADY seen me undressed! DO NOT under any circumstances become a patient here. I regret every minute & every cent that I ever spent here. read more

I have been going to Roberts for the past 15 years for various issues. Intermittently I tried other PTs closer to home but always found myself back at Roberts. Scott and his team are simply the best! Their continuing training keeps them up to date on all the newest techniques and it shows. Their bedside manner is always warm. The staff that supports the PT team are also amazing and degreed. All real go getters and very easy to work with. As you walk in their door you are typically greeted by an amazing front staff as well. Seriously all great! As for massage - OMG - the absolute best!!! Running an insurance scam. Don't go here unless you want them to run up your medical coverage with $60,000 in physical therapy. Tries to do third-party billing and get you to sign 100 different liability waivers to get treatment and refuses to take medical insurance for auto accidents. read more

This place is an absolute SCAM! I wouldn't even give them a 1. They refused to discuss my bill with me since it was due to a car accident insurance claim. I never received one bill from them, but when I stopped getting treated there, they sent the bill directly to my lawyers, trying to collect. My bill amount also continues to change. Paige (the owners wife) is INCREDIBLY unprofessional. I'm shocked this place is still in business. read more

After surgery and SEVERAL other physical therapists, I finally found someone to give me relief from the pain my doctor said I would "have to live with the rest of my life". In a year of treatment, I was always treated kindly and respectfully. I was asked permission to have students observe, which I think is is great because we need more young professionals learning the techniques used at Roberts PT. The 5 other offices I tried were not practicing these methods, which was why I chose to go here after all of the research I had done. I stopped treatment a year ago and have had no recurring issues. I am so very thankful for Scott and the staff at Roberts PT. I am always recommending them to my friends. read more

My 16 yo daughter had a "groin pull" last year and while it settled down then, after 3 soccer games it flaired up again. I called Roberts PT and they worked her in at 7pm and worked on her for 1.5 hours. Her pelvis was rotated and triggering her pain. Scott and Shaunna were incredibly thorough, professional and kind. They are extremely knowledgeable and their results are unmatched. I encourage anyone who has recurrent pain or injury to see Scott Roberts,PT and his team. Simply the best! I have been Scott's patient for years. Years because I am a dentist and had an undiagnosed malalignment for YEARS (missed by numerous other practioners). Horrible book keeping. Refused to turned my claim into my health insurance after a car accident so they would receive the full amount after my treatment was over instead of what insurance would pay. I only went 9 times for whiplash... and he charged me $5000. That is a lot of money for only 9 sessions. I even offered to pay out of pocket in the beginning until it was all settled... he refused. THEN CHARGED ME LATE FEES... $325 WORTH. read more

I absolutely love Roberts Physical Therapy and Massage. I have known Scott and Paige for many years and was one of their first clients when they opened back in 2005. I am still a client today.  I have had 13 surgeries since 1994 and have been to many physical therapists over the years. Scott was the first manual PT I saw and he truly changed the way I view physical therapy.  He is by far the best PT I've ever seen.  His knowledge of the human body is amazing. In addition to massages, I have seen Scott over the years for knee pain, back pain, shoulder pain, migraines, jaw pain and pelvic pain. He's also performed dry needling on various parts of my body many times. Unlike most PTs, Scott spends a lot of time getting to know his clients, their background, and the pain they are experiencing so he can fully understand what's going on. He's not satisfied until your pain is gone.  I've never experienced that level of care, attention, and determination anywhere else in the medical community (and I've been to a lot of doctors, specialists, PTs, and surgeons). Scott and Paige both work long hours every day so they can help as many people as they possibly can. Scott also attends classes and seminars on the weekends to increase his knowledge and stay up on the latest techniques (as can be seen by the alphabet soup after his name) so he can give his clients the best care possible. Paige handles all of the administrative and behind-the-scenes things so Scott can focus on what he does best.  She literally keeps the place running (and she gives amazing massages!) If it wasn't for her, Scott wouldn't be able to do what he does.  They are a small business and have had many challenges along the way (as any small businessppl does), but they always seem to come out on top. It's been really exciting to watch them grow and expand their business over the years.  This is truly a special place.  I feel that if you leave there unsatisfied, then it's on you. Depending on your issue, it could take several visits to address your pain. You've got to be willing to put in the time and the work to get the results you're looking for. I recommend that you talk to the folks there if you have a problem before blasting them online. They are a family business and are some of the nicest people I know. They work hard to make sure each client has the best experience possible. They've made a name for themselves in the Richmond area and in the PT community as one of the best PT places out there - and I could not agree more! read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE bookkeeping! I NEVER write reviews but these people more than deserve this. Let me start off by saying I have never had a late bill and have almost perfect credit. I went there a few times for a back injury and made the mistake of paying cash for my co-pay a couple of times. During roughly the same time, my wife visited them while pregnant with our son for her lower back pain. To make a long story short they sent BOTH OF US to collections without ever having tried to contact EITHER OF US about our supposed "late payments". Luckily I had proof on my credit card statements (from over a YEAR ago) from the one time I did pay with credit card, so I was able to get out of one of the fabricated charges. You would think this would be a sign to them that we did indeed pay the other times we visited, but no. Not only would they not budge about our supposed "late payments", but they wouldn't even budge with their penalty fees until my wife left them a bad review, and then all of the sudden they were willing to take away the late fees, but not the charges. The physical therapists were very nice and did a good job, but the bookkeeping left a very sour taste in my mouth, especially considering I had to pay for some of the visits twice. read more

First Sara S must have deeper issues stemming from her accident. There is no way this business should have any rating less than a 5. This is a group who cares about their patients and offer great wisdom and knowledge in helping not only about getting well but also working with insurance to get the most out of one's coverage and supporting doctors for the benefit of the customer. Scott is a magician in physical therapy and knows how to tackle the ailment to ensure lasting recover. Paige has a special gift of touch and relief for a medicinal massage not to mention the staff willingness to please, support and continual desire of higher education for the benefit of the patient. I am a returning customer for I know this group has successfully treated and healed the various injuries or realigments I have experienced over the years. Absolutely horrible experience. Not only did they recommend dry needling for my condition, which was not necessary given my diagnosis, and if anything exacerbated the condition, but neglected to tell me my insurance did not cover this method of treatment until after I stopped physical therapy. Even after I attempted to get a copy of my file to reconcile, they still proceeded with legal action for a $133 bill. Soup to nuts; from treatment to office management to billing, this office has been an absolute nightmare to work with. Thank goodness I found another physical therapist that made a huge impact in my recovery; just ran my first half marathon in two years. Do yourself a huge favor and avoid this office at all costs; there are way too many knowledgable and professional physical therapists out there to subject yourself to this nonsense. read more

Horrible. I was treated here for several months following a car accident. The owner's wife Paige is extremely unprofessional and yelled at me in front of other patrons regarding a billing issue that was not my fault, but the fault of their staff. I was being charged a lower fee when I began treatment, but once they realized I had been in a car accident & lawyers were involved, they decided to charge a much higher rate & back charge me to get more money. There were numerous times where young college students were allowed to observe my therapy, some of which involved me being partially exposed due to the areas that needed to be worked on. The owner Scott is an experienced physical therapist. The rest of the staff are young and extremely unprofessional. I felt uncomfortable just walking in the door and will never set foot in there again. read more

I have been to see Scott a couple of times now, and have been extremely happy with the results each time. I threw out my back and was in quite a bit of pain. I wasn't able to walk very well, much less sit in a chair all day at work. Scott took the time to ask questions in order to understand exactly what happened and to pinpoint the areas of my pain. After the first session of working on me, I felt so much better. I had never experienced dry needling before but I had heard about it and was eager to try it. I couldn't believe how quickly the needles worked and how much better I felt afterward! Scott is extremely thorough and is a wealth of knowledge on the human body. I have also spoken with Paige on numerous occasions - it is apparent that they both love their work and are constantly trying to improve their business in order to provide the best service to their clients.
