I was slowly getting better but he was much older than me and had many health issues, including being almost blind. I had had all my belongings moved from Potomac, MD to my new condo at the Risteau. I had been staying at my ex-husband's place in the same building while I recovered from multiple surgeries. I monitored the delivery of my boxes and furniture from Potomac. Everything was fine, so I went to my husband's unit to sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night, having tremors. My husband freaked out and called the ambulance. Turns out I had kidney failure and stayed in the hospital for a week while they solved the problem of a blocked ureter. More surgery. My husband knew I had to put together all the stuff in my new condo and organize. Clothes folded and hung up. Books shelved. Kitchen completely organized. Furniture situated. Family pictures and knickknacks appropriately displayed. He called you! He had a personal friendship with you. I came home from the hospital and was shocked! My new condo looked like something from a magazine. Sweaters folded so perfectly, the way they look in fancy shops. Kitchen perfectly organized. I started crying. I had been sitting in the hospital wondering how in the world I would get up the strength to even unpack one box. Fletcher and these wonderful women made me forever grateful. I told him it was probably one of the very best things he had done for me in 26 years! He passed away not too long after and I was never able to thank you for all you did for me. They were professional and friendly during that first visit. A follow-up email was next, which contained a written confirmation of the amount quoted during their visit. On the day of my move, they arrived a few minutes early and were completely prepared. During the move Mother Nature provided a torrential down-pour. It was an awful rain! The men never stopped working and did not complain. As a matter of fact, they were upbeat and positive, despite the less than ideal weather conditions. The move was complete in less time than they estimated. I was impressed with the professional attitude, the fast service, and the motivation levels that were maintained throughout the entire move. Payment was made through a PayPal invoice. There was nothing about the experience with Xpress movers that was not positive. If the need happens to arise in the future, I'd hire them again without hesitation. :)

I bought the Living Social deal in May for a move in July from Crofton to Baltimore. It took me about 5 days to actually speak to someone to schedule the move - first red flag. When he scheduled, he told me he would also charge a $75 fuel fee - on top of the $115 LivingSocial voucher - something not in the fine print anywhere - second red flag. I contacted LivingSocial about this immediately - it took them two weeks to "resolve" this - we ended up agreeing to pay $35 instead of $75, A few days before the 7/10 move that I clearly scheduled WELL in advance, he did call to confirm the appointment. It looked like things were on track. Then, 8 am, on 7/10, the actual moving day, I get a call "oh um there's an emergency and we have to reschedule cuz um yeah let's reschedule." Nope. I told him I had to move that day and that I needed a refund which LivingSocial graciously worked out quickly despite the fact that the merchant had marked my voucher as redeemed before ever providing a service. As everyone else has said, don't waste your time or money. It's a good deal, but not if you don't get service. And it's certainly not worth the stress. Hopefully LivingSocial won't work with them (him? I have a feeling it's a one man operation as others have mentioned) again, and I will be looking into BBB to see what more I can do. Not cool.

I am doing a two-stage move with Two Men and Truck, and the first stage was amazingly simple and stress free, from making the reservation to delivery and unloading. The company sent 4 guys to my house to move my stuff to two different locations. They arrived on time, introduced themselves and got right to moving things into the truck. They handled all of my furniture and boxes with great care. They were very efficient which I very much appreciated since this was an hourly rate move. During the move, all of the guys were friendly and very easy to work with. They asked questions to be sure they were getting things on the truck to go to the right place. There was not a single moment of worry or stress during the entire move. At one point, the Company owner and one of the managers stopped in to do a spot check and see how everything was going. I was very impressed that they took the time to do this and that they were genuinely interested in how the move was going. The second stop of this move was to a storage unit. That storage unit is perfectly organized - I've never seen a storage unit so impeccably arranged. I can easily see and get to all of my stuff! Overall, this company did a fabulous job for me. I am doing the second stage of this move shortly and have no qualms whatsoever about using Two Men and a Truck for that move as well. In fact, I am looking forward to it. Who'd have thought? One last thing - my sister will be moving soon, and based on my great experience, will be using Two Men and a Truck. These guys are great!

He called 6 people and worked 5 hours one day and 4 hours the next charging me way more than we spoke about. He didn't want to do the work so he brought on more people hoping to do it in less time and charged me. The first day his 2 guys too 4 hours to empty a uhaul storage unit. They broke boxes of dishes and didn't pack the truck right. When it came time to move the things out of my house they had to unpack the truck and repack it. He charged me for that time. The next day he took trash and a mattress to the dumpster which I never asked for and charged me for that. He rushed to do that by 5 abs didn't finish moving my things he was hired to move. They took beds and mirrors apart and didn't put them back together and loss the screws. He was supposed to to come back and finish putting things together and remove 2 tvs that he left in my old place. Their travel time estimation was pretty accurate. My belongings arrived as I packed it, some had damage which was entirely MY fault -- I should have wrapped absolutely everything. Long story short, great service, great company to work with, fast/quick responses, and affordable (in my opinion). The cost of this was less than half what it would've cost me to move that far with a full service moving company (they pack the truck and drive for you) and half the cost of PODS although I believe the PODS company has different size cubes.
