The only time the food got worse the more I ate. The plates were almost as bad as the food. Someone had to hold my plate down so I could cut my pork. The pork was genuinely so dry and so tough that I would believe it was cooked in bulk in the beginning of the week. The fries were bland. The hushpuppies were actually pretty good, but it couldn't save this place. The service was fine. It was divided between us and a St. Paddy's party. The waitress service was just average had to ask for items same items that was forgotten about more than once. My friend got okra he said it was terrible had a terrible spicy taste to it. He asked to replace it with the asparagus the asparagus was tough as nails also was charged $5 extra for the two sides which were premium size apparently it wasn't mentioned when ordered. She mentioned you get two sides with it but didn't mention about the premium sides that cost more. The menu might have said that but would have been nice if she mentioned it. we had reservations at Robert's by the River for the 4th of July! we started with the corn fritters and stuffed jalapeño bites. the corn fritters were delicious, and the stuffed jalapeño bites were super cheesy. for my entree, i had the fried chicken sandwich with chips, and the chips were so good! they also had a great variety of fancy cocktails to choose from. the service and ambiance were amazing! we sat inside for appetizers and then moved out to the patio to watch the fireworks over the river. it was the perfect spot to celebrate the holiday, and i'd definitely try it again. read more

We came on a Saturday evening and were the only people in the place for a bit, which always can be a little concerning. My husband had the salad bar and was pleased with it. We went to the new Robert's Comfort Food on Green River Road on 9/15. The food was good but a bit too salty. What was really bothersome was that we were sitting by the window and the window sills and blinds were filthy and there was dead flies laying all along the sills. Also, the seats and benches were stained and gross. The place just recently opened so it's very evident they didn't clean the place thoroughlyafter it closed from being Bob Evan's several months ago. If the restaurant is this dirty in the area where the customers are, it worries me how filthy the kitchen is where they cook the food. They need to do better. I will give them another chance as again, the food was decent, but if the place is still as dirty, I'll never go back again. read more

We went there last night 8/14/26. Smelled good so we was excited. Had a short ten min wait to be seated. We sat fr by center table on the left side. Waitress came buy and took our drink order, there was something off about her. Drinks came and we realized what was off. It was her customer service was off and her attitude was on ! So not a great start. Well our drinks arrived the sweet tea was lacking and the coffee was so rancid that rebrewed five day old truck stop coffee tasted Devine. We placed our appetizer order.We waited and waited and waited and was asked if we would like some dinner rolls while we wait. We got those and they was great and then the waiting started again. 45 min goes by and then the personality princess came by and asked if we wanted more rolls and it should be just five min and turned and walked away. Well our food arrived the mashed potatoes was soooo salty I think everyone in the kitchen put salt in the potatoes, the hush puppies wasn't cooked properly couldn't eat them either. The other items we order tasted good. Wasn't even a mediocre of an experience, more of a regretted that we came of an experience. Only giving one star because zero is not an option. read more

I could get a gas station fish four times the size of the tiny filets. I had to use both hands to break the fish apart. It wasn't any better than fast food in fish. Just way more expensive. Was killing time at work, and decided to walk around a check out the river walk in downtown Evansville, after that I decided to stop off and grab a snack and a drink, this is located within a very cool shrine: museum to the Shriners, when I walked in I was seated right away, I ended up enjoying some micolob ultra and some tasty Jalapeño poppers, it was the perfect pick me up! On our final day in Indiana we found this place on a google search of the area. We already knew what we wanted before we walked in the door. I had fried fish fillet with mashed potatoes no gravy and the best tasting green beans I believe I've ever had a restaurant. The fish was seasoned perfectly and was so delicious. My daughter had the same other than she had the French fries instead of mashed potatoes She did mentioned she wish the fries were hand cut instead of simply frying frozen crinkle fries. Our last night happened to be a Friday night and it was getting busy and appeared to be short staffed but the two waiting the tables handled it perfectly and kept the room moving. Really wished we could have sat outside because it was such a nice evening but with the short staffing I can see why that wasn't possible. Definitely our next visit we will go back here. read more

Located in the Hadi Shrine building overlooking the river. They have a bar, dining room, and outdoor seating. Could tell that everyone there knew each other. We were seated quickly but had to wait for our waitress for about 10 minutes. After that she was friendly and provided great service. After we ordered drinks we ordered dinner. I got the grilled pork steak. It was delicious and the first time I have seen it on menu. My wife got the fried catfish fillet, and others the chicken fried steak with white gravy. Everyone really enjoyed their main entree. The sides were quite good, especially the collard greens. We didn't have it but the salad bar looked well stocked and fresh. As many people have mentioned, the first thing you notice is how clean it is inside. We stopped to eat here before the Jason Aldean concert and had a great experience. I was searching for a restaurant near the Ford Center and chose Robert's after looking at the reasonable prices on the menu and the positive reviews. It turned out to be the perfect place since it is so close to the Ford Center. Although we did not have Ryan as our server, our table did have some interaction with him and it was a lot of fun. The food was very good, and I especially want to compliment the catfish that our friends ordered. I am not a big fan of fish, but our friend James said it was the best catfish he had ever eaten. We may have to make a return trip to Evansville just to enjoy a meal here again. read more

We visited Evansville for an overnight trip. We're from the south, but we live in the Midwest now. When we looked at this menu, it reminded us of home with the fried fish, hush puppies and salad bar. We tried the chili and loaded baked potato soup. As you see, we couldn't decide on which one we liked more as they were both delicious, so we just mixed them both! I had the catfish, hush puppies, green beans and salad bar. My husband had the pork steak, baked potato and salad bar with a sweet tea. Everything was seasoned well! Ryan was our server and he was absolutely phenomenal and welcoming with all the suggestions. They were out of the meatloaf and bourbon slushes we wanted to try, but that's all the more reason to come back when we're back in town.
