Oh man! I brought a leather jacket to be repaired and cleaned and boy did Roberta's team deliver! I'm kicking myself for not taking pictures of the jacket before repair, but trust me, the lining was totally ruined and needed a lot of work. Her team replaced the lining and cleaned the leather so that it looks as good as new. The jacket is from the 80s so they were able to restore it to its glory days! The price was reasonable and they got me my jacket in less than 2 weeks. If you ever need leather repairs or cleaning do yourself a favor and stop in this store. read more

I used this company to get my 2 year old briefcase cleaned and the piping redone on the strap. It was what I thought was a very simple job. I dropped off my bag and asked to get pricing. They called back and told me $65 to get it reconditioned. I thought that was affordable and agreed. I was told the bag would be done in 2-3 days. A week later they told me it was done. I showed up and it was not finished. The price was now $90. I was told one more day. I accepted and was looking forward to getting my bag back as I travel for work. I arrived 2 days later to pick up the bag and realized they had ruined it. It looked like a child used it for finger painting. There was what appeared to be just orange paint all over it. It was on every buckle, zipper, and clasp. Also, why they choose orange is beyond me. Now to the worst part... The orange paint gets everywhere. From just holding it in my hand for a couple of minutes, my hand was orange. There is no way I can carry this around and not ruin my suit. I called and told them of the issues and they refunded my money but would not replace the briefcase. They offered to redo the bag again but I have zero faith in their abilities plus I have already had to replace the briefcase because I still have to work. Overall, I would avoid this place like the plague. read more

This is truly one of the kindest small businesses in the city. I sadly see much of the opposite and it is so refreshing to meet owners who right off the bat display a genuine joy for their business and their customers. I recently had extra holes added to a belt and they created a very personal and professional experience. They were clearly in the middle of something as I entered the store, but that did not stop them from pausing to show me around the store and discuss different designers they carried and the details behind their items. I would highly recommend shopping this store and/or working with them on custom pieces. read more

I took my leather jacket here to fix a 2 inch rip that had developed in the collar. This jacket has a lot of sentimental value to me, so it was really important to me to get it repaired, and get it repaired right. This place did not disappoint! I picked up the jacket today, and learned that they had replaced the entire collar. They did an *incredible* job; the only indicator that the collar was replaced is that it is now softer than the rest of the jacket. Seriously, I showed it to my roommate, asked him to identify the alteration, and he wasn't able to pick it out. Shout out to Emma, who I believe was the one to do most if not all of the work. On top of that, all of the staff was very friendly, the turnaround was reasonable, and they even fixed a hole in the liner free of charge. It was pricier than I expected going in, but seeing the results, I am completely sure that it was worth it. If you have a damaged leather item and want to be absolutely sure you're handing it over to a professional, this is the place! read more

I came to here over the Christmas holiday. I was home visiting my family from NYC. On my way home, I ripped a huge hole in the underarm of my favorite (only) leather jacket. Now, I consider a good leather jacket a fashion investment. So I was extremely dismayed as I only had this one for a little over two years. Any-woo. When I got to Pittsburgh, I immediately started looking for leather workers in the area. There were a few. But a lot were way out in the burbs. This was, by far, the most convenient location. When I got to the shop, they took the time to analyze the damage--which I appreciated--and told me exactly what needed to be fixed. (The entire sleeve.) Then, they told me they'd need two weeks to fix it. Not that long, considering the work that needed to be done. But I was heading back to NYC within days. So, after I explained this to them, they said they could get it done with a small rush fee. Finally, what makes them so great, when I came to pick up my jacket the day before I left. They'd not only fixed the problem. They'd reinforced the armpit with stronger leather on the inside. So it wouldn't rip again. AND did the same thing on the other sleeve, just because. The cost of everything, including the rush fee, was beyond reasonable, too. Better than any prices I would have found in the Big Apple. I highly recommend them. And, if I ever tear another hole in my jacket, I'd go there again. :-) read more

You can find anything there from purses to boots to clothing. She also carries Brighton and Vera Bradley to name a couple of off brands. I took my leather jacket to RWL to have a zipper replaced on short notice. Initially I was told it be 2-3 weeks before the repair would be done. When I inquired whether it could possibly be done earlier because I was to leave for a colder climate during the Christmas Holiday, Roberta said she would see what they could do. Much to my surprise I received a phone call a week later to inform me that the repair had been completed and the jacket was ready for pick up. Emma did a fabulous job of sewing in the new, more substantial zipper; it looked like it had come from the factory. Both Roberta and Emma made certain the newly installed zipper functioned properly before allowing me to leave the store, even applying "zipper glide" for that extra degree of smoothness! Someone out there, some guy named Ben J. from Boston said in a Yelp review that "...nothing out there deserves 5 stars..." I beg to differ. Prime example is Roberta Weissburgh Leather's and her lovely staff of customer support and leather technicians. These people are experts when it comes to handling, repairing or custom designing leather garments. They do it all; jackets, pants, furs...must I go on? We're super lucky to have 2 stores in the Pittsburgh area, one in Shadyside and one in the South Side Works. Personally, I love Emma's work, she's one of the leather specialists that I had the privilege of her working on my jackets. She's accurate, detailed and super timely on her deliveries. As an admirer of fine leather goods and a wearer of western-inspired clothing, I was excited to happen upon this quaint store along Shadyside's Walnut Street shopping area during a recent shopping excursion. I entered and inquired about bolo ties. They had none at the time, but I was directed to their seamstress who took my order for a custom-made tie. I came back to pick it up yesterday and was impressed by the seamstress's skillful leather braiding and also charmed by the warm, pleasant, and helpful disposition of the manager. Called several known leather shops to get the sleeves of my Harley Jacket shortened to no avail. One of the shops gave me the number to Roberta Weissburg Leathers. I drove 5 hours to get to their store and I'm glad I did. After finishing my jacket I had them mail it back to me. I received it today and couldn't be happier. The sleeves are the perfect length. And you can't tell where the sleeves were cut and resewn. The price was very reasonable and well worth the drive. read more
