Cute Boutique in Carnegie. Awesome stuff! Great for treating yourself or gifts! They even have designer names!

While visiting Carnegie on a Sunday-free parking day I stumbled upon this quaint shop. I got an opportunity to meet and chat with the owner JoAnn who explained to me that they have a vast array of merchandise for both holiday giving as well as for yourself. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and helped answer my questions. She also gave me her business card in case I needed anything. She also said you may bring your dog in here. Some of the articles I was told are authentic-like some of the jewelry that came from Israel. Other things are brought in by other vendors and artists. There is a vast selection of merchandise ranging from antiques, children's clothing, adult clothing, soaps, hats, decorative items, and of course holiday ornaments. They even have a dressing room if you want to try on anything. She took the time to explain to me what items were genuinely made in the country of origin and those that are imported. There are things that can be a bit pricey but if you look hard enough you'll find something in your budget. I was shopping for Hanukkah and she told me that most of those ornaments sold out over the weekend but she would try to get me one by end of week. In the meantime I picked up a beautiful pink Burberry style scarf made in Scotland at a fairly descent price. This is a great shop just to look around. Holiday tea towels with gingerbread men on them will put you into the spirit of Christmas. The soaps were scented along with mini snowball bath bombs that I thought it would be a waste to use them. They do make great gifts. The shop is located on E Main St in Carnegie near the now torn down site of Papa J's. During the week metered street parking is available along with a lot only a few blocks down.

Got to be honest: when I visit Marshalls, I skip the clothing section. Since different brands of…read moreclothes fit very differently, it's not usually worth digging through the racks finding clothes to try on. But, I'll still poke my head in here because there are plenty of other things I can find much more easily. Boots, purses, home items, notepads - those sorts of things are fun to look at, especially as I evaluate new colors, patterns, and so forth to include in my home and workspace. A lot of items here make great (and affordable) gifts for people, too; so even if I don't find something for myself, I rarely leave disappointed. Free and easy parking - plus the fact that this Marshalls is located next to a Panera and a convenient store/pharmacy - means that even if I leave empty-handed, I don't feel like I wasted my time or energy. I'll certainly continue visiting and seeing what's available here as long as I'm in the area.

I hung my items up so the attendant could count them and she noticed I had a Starbucks drink and told me I had to either leave it in the cart or with her at the counter (GROSS!). I definitely wasn't doing that, so she wouldn't let me try the clothes on. She was super rude about it too. I told her that I walked around the store with it, so what was the difference if I brought it in the fitting room?? I could have spilled it anywhere in the store and it would have had to have been cleaned up. If drinks aren't allowed, they should post it. It was just an off-putting experience and I told her that I'm a grown up and I can handle having a drink. In the past, I also had a bad experience with this attendant. She's miserable. To sum it up, I left the store without trying on the clothes. The line is always massively long when I go in here anyway. I doubt that I will go back to this location again.

So, Zicknacks and Treasure Trove Fleatique both share same address and signage is for Treasure Trove Fleatique. Once inside, the downstairs has used furniture while upstairs has booths for different vendors of used items, a lot of it vintage. There is even a plant booth which I loved and purchased a couple plants at a good price. Sooo, after coming home and searching online I am deducing on my own that Zicknacks occupies the main floor/downstairs portion of this venue of furniture and furnishings (I never saw any signage-- did I miss it?) And other vendors occupy upstairs. I must admit this particular visit there wasn't that much furniture but I can see that this is a good option when searching. The cashier is on the main floor near the front door. Searching online it shows Zicknacks also does donation pickup and has Hauling services.
