Then I waited for her to ask if I wanted a slushie but she didn't ask me, I asked for a ball which I get all the time and she said they don't give them out, I went up to the front desk and asked for a ball and she gave me two. This place is amazing and I love the kindness but Jade didn't sit right with me.

I am very grateful to Doctor Mark Ence for seeing my mom at the beginning of September. My…read more86-year-old mom, who suffers from dementia and severe memory loss, had not been to a dentist in more than 5 years, but instead had only seen a mobile dental hygienist for the past 2 years, who saw her once a month in her skilled nursing facility. During COVID, my mom could not receive any dental care, and I was worried that her teeth had started to fail. She needed to see a dentist to have an honest evaluation of whether or not some of her teeth could be saved and whether or not she needed some major procedures to improve her oral health. Dr Ence met with my mom and me and Dr Ence was kind and gentle and made my mom feel comfortable and at ease, so that he could take a careful look at her teeth. He used the (1 week-old) xrays taken by my mom's hygienist, instead of needing to take xrays there in the office. Dr Ence's hygienist took detailed notes as to which of mom's teeth needed extra attention, which teeth would probably eventually need a procedure, and gave some excellent suggestions about what the CNAs in my mom's skilled nursing facility could do to improve my mom's oral health. (Dr Ence also complimented the good care that the mobile hygienist had taken care of mom's teeth). Dr. Ence's office staff and hygienist team were also warm and welcoming and made my mom feel comfortable and less nervous, which happens when someone who suffers from dementia is taken out of their familiar environment. Thanks to Dr. Ence, my mom and I now have a lot of good information and better understanding of the condition of my mom's teeth. Thank you, Dr. Ence, for your great communication, gentle treatment of my mom, and great knowledge of teeth and bone and gum health. If I could give Ence Dental a letter grade, I'd give them an A++ !

I had a dental emergency while visiting the area and appreciated being seen the same day. The front…read moredesk staff was pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, the clinical experience was disappointing. The X-rays were grainy with overlap, making them difficult to interpret clearly. Despite this, Dr. Miller stated I "clearly" had an infection and relied on an AI overlay that changed the appearance of the image rather than pointing to definitive findings on the original image. Most concerning, no clinical exam of the tooth was performed--no instruments were used. Additionally, the X-rays were taken by a dental assistant who stated she did not complete an xray course and being a DA (dental assistant) rather than an RDA (registered) raises concerns about compliance with Utah regulations. (Requirement for X-rays- To legally take dental X-rays in Utah, a dental assistant must complete one of the following: * A board-approved dental radiology course, OR * A CODA-accredited dental assisting program, OR * Pass the DANB Radiation Health & Safety (RHS) exam ) Turned out when I got a second opinion it was a gingival abscess which doesn't usually show up on X-rays and is easily treated compared to a periapical infection which would need a root canal or extraction. The dentist could have discovered this by looking inside my mouth rather than relying on technology alone! Overall, while I appreciated the prompt scheduling, I did not feel confident in the diagnostic process or care provided. As a dental hygienist of over 15 years, I was shocked that this office feels it is serving its patients well without doing an oral exam. I would NOT recommend this office.
