Everyone is competent, cheerful and friendly making visits here quite pleasant. Finally, I have yet to meet his colleague Dr. Yai but word has it he's terrific too. I expect Dr. Ackerman wouldn't bring a dentist into his practice that wasn't of the same caliber as himself.

I have heard that happens so hopefully my honest review can help others fairly evaluate this business. Since my last review in 2022, I have gotten 4 implants at Pebble Beach Dental. All the work to achieve this was completed by Dr. Erickson. I am a private pay customer, and I have appreciated the payment option provided by Pebble Beach Dental. I just returned home from my bi-annual cleaning, and my oral health is good and stable. I have had bridges removed as the anchor teeth failed and after a time of healing two implants on either side of mouth have been placed. The ability to eat and chew without pain has vastly improved my quality of life. I am really surprised by the negative statement made about the office manager, Stephanie. We have met and spoken both casually and around business over the last 4 years and never have I experienced anything remotely as is being said in these reviews. She is neither petty, dismissive or unprofessional to me nor have I seen her be that with other patients. One would think that if that were her behavior, I would have experienced it as well in this length of time. Something I believe strongly is that no one can make me feel anything. Depending on my perspective and my own state of mind is how I will receive and reaction to any given situation. Please do not these negative reviews prevent you from seeking care at this business as it is at the top of the scale in terms of ability, character, and quality.

PART 2: CAN IMPROVE - I would have given 5, however the dental hygienist who came to floss my teeth simply did not know how to floss. No getting the string in between the teeth and moving up and down each adjacent tooth. At times, she skipped teeth; at others, she got the floss in between and did one side but rather than lift the string up, she cut across to the adjacent tooth hitting the gum, which I didn't appreciate. If she observes other hygienists and practiced on even herself or the staff, she would better understand how to floss.

A billing staff member who identified herself as Erin told me that my primary insurance (Delta) had overpaid and the insurance company typically refunds the credit to the patient. When I contacted my primary insurance, they told me this does not happen. I was then told by the same billing staff member that the office - not the insurance - would be issuing the refund, contradicting what I had previously been told. During this process, I received a voicemail from them instructing me to stop contacting my insurance and let the office "handle it" as that would be "in my best interest"?? When I asked for an invoice or itemized statement to understand the charges and credit on my account, I was told that invoices are not provided. And to top it off, I have to get 2/4 teeth revised (without IV anesthetic which the office will not cover) because half the gum graft was unsuccessful.

Makes no sense to us. The demeanor of the staff during this interaction was unprofessional, as it appeared that today's visit was intentionally scheduled as a sort of payback for his previously missed appointments, they never intended to see him and planned to waste his time just to tell him that and smirk while doing so. Not a great way to treat a patient. So unprofessional.

HEED MY WARNING! I went to this place after my friend recommended them. I was having tooth pain,…read moreand they found an infection in one of my molars and scheduled an extraction. Luckily, on the day of the extraction, my face was swollen from the infection and they wouldn't do anything until the swelling went down. By that night, I was in so much pain I ended up in the hospital where I was kept for three days fighting off a facial cellulitis infection. While in the hospital, I learned that the infection was NOT in the tooth that Citrus Heights Dental had targeted for extraction. It was actually the tooth NEXT TO the tooth they planned to pull! Thank God for that infection. It was a horrible experience, but at least I didn't lose a perfectly healthy tooth! I never went back to that place and I never will.
