She nicked an artery in several places and refused to repair it leaving me with blood in my lungs. I had to have several blood transfusions and had the artery ligated at another hospital. The bleeding starting the same day she pulled out the gauze packing yet she said she could not help me and to go see my primary because the bleeding had nothing to do with the surgery she performed. The bleeding artery was the main sinus artery... She deserves to be sued and jailed. I almost lost my life and have delt with severe trauma from this. I spent 9 days in ICU.... She is lucky I am not the suing type although I contemplate it often.

We have seen her once a year or twice a year for three years for my two son's various flu and other injuries. We are so grateful she is there. Please don't leave, Dr Kelly! If every provider were like her, our medical field would be serving all patients SO well. Here's why: She always thinks of everything without me even asking, from meds, to at home things to do, to a school note, without hesitation. She always makes a little bit of small talk with my sons, but it's like she really cares. Bonus: The place is clean, the front desk staff is friendly, calm and efficient. They smile and are efficient and great with insurance and I haven't ever received a crazy bill from them ever. The wait time has never exceeded 15 minutes. We are out within 45 min including payment and lab tests. I am not getting paid by them to say all this stuff LOL haha! I don't know anyone there either....but I just have to call out this example of urgent care DONE RIGHT. Dr Kara's-Hedrick, DNP, please always continue being the best urgent care provider we've seen! I was concerned about finding and considering carefully, the right specialist and I feel that I did. Google and WebMD are wonderful tools. Knowledge and information are one thing. This clinic is terrible. When I arrived, the woman at the front desk closed the tinted windows…read morewithout saying anything. Then, I could see her eating and looking at me through the windows. After about 5 minutes of me standing there, she eventually opened the window and asked what I wanted. I told her I was a new patient, signed in, filled out my paperwork and waited to be called. I was called in to get my vitals taken and was surprised at the lack of privacy. The area where I was getting my vitals taken is not a room nor is closed off so other patients were just passing by staring as they went in and out to the bathroom. The nurse took me to a room and on the way stopped to talk to a patient and left me at the patient's door while discussing his issues out loud. It was awkward and uncomfortable so I moved further along the hall, away from the door. In the room, I waited for the doctor but instead an intern showed up first. She was very nice but she wasn't too sure of what to do. The doctor eventually came in and was not very polite. He hardly let me speak, always interrupting me mid-sentence. I was told they would give me a strep test to see if I had strep throat. The doctor and intern left and the nurse came back in and took my strep test without changing the gloves she had worn to take my vitals and to take another woman's strep test. I was asked to wait so they could get the results of the test. I waited, and waited, and eventually fell asleep and woke up and still no one had come back. I'm sure at least 30 minutes passed at which point I stepped out of the room to look for someone and found the doctor, nurses and interns eating at the reception and I was the only patient left. They forgot I was there and when they saw me the intern said: oh she has a question. I said, "no, no one came back, they told me to wait." The doctor simply said "sorry" and said I didn't have strep but he was going to give me antibiotics anyway. He gave no indications as to how to take the medication so I asked. The nurse then asked "when I wanted to come back." I said I didn't know since the doctor didn't say I had to come back, so she said, "okay we will schedule you for a month." I asked about a referral the doctor said he'd give me to see a podiatrist and she didn't even know about it because the doctor didn't write it in my chart. I happened to run into the doctor on my way out and asked him if I had to come back and he said yes, in two weeks, at which point I had to go back and change my appointment. I asked what the earliest appointment was and was told I could get scheduled at 10am any day but that the doctor didn't usually show up until 11am, so I'm not sure why they even schedule appointments an hour before the doctor is there. After weeks of waiting to hear back about my referral, I went back to ask. At the window, in front of other patients the receptionist asked, why do you need a referral for a podiatrist, are you diabetic?" I am not diabetic but even if I were, what bothers me is that there is no patient privacy whatsoever. I was told that there was no record of a referral request and then was told that it was filed but they hadn't heard back. Almost two months after my initial appointment I still had not heard back and did not ever hear back. This place lacks professionalism and they don't treat patients with respect. I ended up calling my insurance to switch my primary care physician.
