Plus, once I let Brisa, their front desk coordinator know that I would be moving to a new dental practice that's closer to my home when I arrive, I discovered that my payment for the service was double what I have been paying for my semiannual cleaning. Quite shady to be honest and I would not recommend Stiles dentistry for others that may need to switch to another dental practice.

Then I chipped another tooth so had the perfect opportunity to seek out treatment again. I saw Dr. Stiles after seeing all the great reviews and I was not disappointed. Having had a bad experience I had a lot of anxiety about going into the same procedure, Dr.Stiles talked me through the whole process and answered all my questions with such a sweet and comforting bedside manner. We then discussed multiple options and payments, which gave me options on what I wanted to do and what I wanted to pay. During procedure day Dr. Stiles talked me through every step after we agreed that's what I wanted and when the process was done she handed me a mirror and asked me if I was okay with the outcome and if I wanted anything changed, we worked together to get it just right. The best thing about this experience was Dr.Stiles's chair-side manner. She never made it seem like she was in a rush or that I was just another patient - something I had felt often at my previous dentist's office. The reviews are true - a warm experience with experienced dentists. So happy that my dental experiences are no longer have to be filled with so much anxiety.

All the other reviews were for the previous Lakeside Dental. I came in for a cleaning. I did not know beforehand which dentist I was going to see because they said the last dentist that saw me was on maternity leave. I had a good experience the last time, so I came back. Doctor Rebecca did my cleaning. I was surprised a dentist was doing my cleaning as usually it is a dental hygienist doing the cleaning. She was not thorough at all. She barely cleaned and just polished. It was the quickest cleaning I've ever had. I figured they were understaffed and cleaning was not really her job. All this time, she was talking about my teeth related to me possibly having sleep problems. (Mmm ok) I just let her talk wishing she was focusing on getting my teeth cleaned instead. I told her about a space in between my molars that bothered me a bit since food gets stuck. The manager was so efficient in giving the breakdown for the filling. I do not have a lot of free time during the day/week so I decided we could proceed with the filling after the cleaning. The cleaning was so quick that we had extra time to do the filling. (One questionable hygienic thing to note for me was that she was using a penlike machine that was leaking and she got the tape of the light to cover the hole in the penlight machine. That's why when I got a sore throat and cough a couple of days after, it crossed my mind it could have been because my mouth was wide open with this - but that was just a thought). Got home, my tooth hurt when I would eat. Called the office and I was scheduled to come back. The first schedule I couldn't make because I wasn't feeling well (sore throat I mentioned). She finally saw me on Tuesday, 10/31/2023. A day that if there was a rewind button, I would just let it be and not come back to this place as I asked for a different dentist to see me to double check and I was told it was only Dr Rebecca who was working. I did see another man in uniform, but I did not bother to ask who he was. I came in and she was nice and apologized. I said it's ok, as long as we fix it. This review is not for her personality but the damage she did to my tooth. I was numb, I did not know the extent of how she was drilling or filing my tooth. It was just a simple filling. I did not know dentists could mess up and drill/file too much due to a filling. I have a toothache now, it hurts when I drink cold or warm, but pain can be fixed. I can find a dentist, spend again to fix what she caused. What cannot be fixed and I am so upset about is the damage to my tooth. She filed my tooth so much there are no ridges. She filed down the center of my tooth smooth in a U more like V-shaped. Every time I touch the molar on my right with my tongue and touch the tooth that she filed/damaged, I get so upset hoping to wake up from a bad dream. It's like a nightmare. I did not want to write this review but I felt I had to. If it can save someone's tooth from being damaged just because of what was supposed to be a simple filling. I called the manager and let him know how I felt to see what he would do about it, and he was very service oriented and tried to do service recovery as best he could. He offered a free cleaning and another dentist to see me. Where was this dentist when I asked when I had to come back a second time? If he was the other man in uniform I saw last time and they said there was no one else other than Dr Rebecca, I would be flabbergasted. If you were me, would you go back or run? Run for sure. I thought it should end there, but the manager is now pressing for me to come back. I let him know that if they want me to come back to see what is left of my tooth, it should be fair terms, and I should get something out of it. It's simply the principle. I lost part of my tooth unnecessarily, why should I have to pay for it. It's like a hairdresser chopping your hair off when you asked for her to style it. Hair can grow back, my tooth cannot.

If you are getting a crown, go elsewhere! Although it may seem nice that this practice makes crowns…read moreinhouse instead of sending out to a lab, making the crown also depends on the skill of the dentist. I've never had issues in the past with lab made crowns. This is the first time I've ever had a Cerec crown, and I have had pain for over two months. Also, I can FEEL this Cerec crown in my mouth constantly - it is as if there is something stuck against my cheek or on the tooth. It is causing me to bite the inside of my check. Plus, it is painful to try to chew even soft foods on it, the tooth/root hurts if I touch it with anything (tongue, finger, etc). Going through this pain, I did some online research on Cerec crowns, and there are a lot of issues with these type of crowns (most of which has to do with the skills of the dentist). The Cerec crown being too "bulky" so that feels like something stuck to your tooth or cheek is a complaint that people have had, which has to do with dentist not being skilled enough to fit it correctly. If you research Cerec crowns, you have to also be careful not to just read "advertisements" disguised as articles written by dental practices that purchased an expensive Cerec machine and want to recoup their investment! Since getting the new crown, I went back to Dr. Anolik's office three times because of the pain. The third time, Dr. Steven Anolik referred me to an endodontist, Dr. Jason Fields - who apparently is Anolik's go-to endodontist for referrals. He said the whole reason for the pain is that I am grinding my teeth. This didn't make sense to me - I might grind a little or clench a little, but I had gotten another crown on the same side years ago and never had this kind of pain. So, I switched to a different dental practice. My new dentist said that don't have a Cerec machine because of the problems with Cerec crowns. She tried doing a bite adjustment (grinding the crown down a little because it was hitting the top teeth to hard). She also referred me to an endodontist, and said to go if I am still having pain in a couple of weeks. The pain continued, so I saw the new endodontist, who recommended a root canal. He did the root canal, and when he got in there, he said the nerves were very inflammed (from all trauma of the crown) and some of the nerve was dead, and it was infected. That was the reason I was having this pain. Now the infection is getting treated, then he will finish the root canal. Then I'll go back to the new dentist and see about replacing or fixing the ill-fitting crown. I am writing this long review because I totally regret having walked into this dental practice in the first place. If Dr. Steven Anolik had told me BEFORE recommending the crown that they are using an inhouse Cerec machine to make it, instead of sending it out to a lab, I would have had a chance to research it before the appointment. But I did not know until I was in the chair for the appointment to get the crown. Would I have researched it and decided against it? I don't know for certain. But I believe patients should have the choice and have all the facts. Thus, I am writing this review for anyone who happens to see it, who happens to go to this practice and they tell you that you need a crown. At least you would have the choice to do some research on your own and decide if you want to risk having the dentist make it inhouse. Another thing I learned through this experience. The endodontist looked at all the x-rays and intraoral photos of that one tooth. It had a crack on both sides, which is why a crown was necessary. But he said that he would have done the root canal first, and then do the crown. There was a big risk of the trauma to the nerves, the inflammation, and a deeper crack that could not be detected. So doing the root canal first would have saved me all of this pain and multiple appointments and multiple painful shots in the mouth.

I Highly recommend Dr. Daftary and his practice to anyone looking for a compassionate, responsive, modern dentist with a patient first approach. As an adult in my early 50s, I have seen my fair share of Dentists over the years. I was impressed with how modern the technology used was, from a full (painless) 3D scan of my mouth, to the TVs over each chair for a welcome distraction, it is apparent that this office has the tools and resources to accommodate a variety of needs. Perhaps most important, the Dr. insisted on insuring my comfort despite my urging to proceed (I have a fast metabolism, as such I have gotten used to dentists just giving a shot and getting to work). Don't be distracted with the angry 1-star reviews some have left, they are not warranted in any way. The dental hygienist told me at least three times that I needed to use an electric toothbrush and floss every day. After the cleaning, Dr Daftari comes in and shows me my X-ray and says I have a small cavity and there is decay under one of my fillings, and because it is so deep it might need to be a root canal. I was taken aback by this so I decided to consult another dentist. They told me the exact opposite. No cavity and no need to replace the filling. The only upside is that they were able to schedule me in quickly and the receptionists were so helpful.

However, Dr. Ghafari examined my teeth very carefully and found it was coming from the shape of my tooth and my bite. I feel no pain at all now!!! I've seen many dentists, so I can safely say there's a difference between what impression you have as a patient and what is actually done in your mouth. I saw another negative review here, but my experience has been completely different. I can't say Dr. Ghafari is the most friendly dentist or one who gives lip-service, but I can say she is very resonable and honest about her procedures. She seems to be a perfectionist, which means she doesn't seek a short-cut to save her time and money. You should recognize how long it normally takes to clean your teeth. It can be less than 10 mins in some dental office, but that's not necessarily a good thing. That's why sometimes you have to wait in the waiting room a little more, but think if the previous patient were you. I'm pretty sure she could be way faster if she wanted. And moneywise, other offices may charge you less out of pocket but far more in insurance money that you need to use in your future. My wife had this experience, and it made me more grateful to Dr. Ghafari. At least she's straightforward about costs. For the last thing, I really want to say that you'll find how good dentist she is in how you feel about your teeth as time goes by.
