If I've got to SIT here and WAIT while my family member is being treated, AT LEAST PROVIDE A WI-FI PASSWORD so I can tend to/handle my business while I'm waiting. (Perhaps they need to be reminded that not everyone coming into their practice is retired?) Sorry, but this is just basic customer service when you're demanding that the patients ride 'wait in office while they are being treated.' I'm actually going to be needing oral surgery here in the next few months and guess where I WONT BE GOING ? THIS PLACE!!

My husband came out to the waiting room when he was all done. He looked like was just put through hell. Blood all the way down his shirt, and that look of "Get me out of here" NOW. Jordan Campbell had indeed extracted the 10 teeth!! But it was brutal. My husband told me that he chocked on a tooth that got down his throat. He was able to cough it out...the tooth and the blood hit the floor ahead of him! The staff did absolutley nothing to help him. Not even asking if he was alright! Thank goodness we never have to go back there again!!! If your into pain, this is the doctor to go to. But if you want a caring dental practice, go anywhere but here.

All of our questions were answered and the team followed up with us via phone call after surgery. While doing the 3D images for surgery Dr. Abt found that my son had an Odontoma. Dr. Abt did a wait and see approach and a year later we came back and the Odontoma has not grown and just appears to be sitting between the roots of two healthy adult teeth. His advice was to leave it alone because the risks outweigh the benefit. I highly recommend Dr. Abt, he is conservative in his approach and has a wonderful bedside manner and staff!

I was referred to Dr. Abt by my normal dental office for a tooth extraction. I had to make an appointment for an evaluation by Dr. Abt before I had another appointment for the extraction. I'm glad I wasn't in pain to have to wait for the second appointment. The office appeared nice, with plush couches in the waiting room area. The staff (appeared to be all female from what I saw, besides Dr. Abt) was nice and efficient. When I questioned about having to come back for a second appointment, I was told Dr. Abt performs his procedures only in the mornings. So I returned two days later for the extraction. I will say that the procedure did go fast, as I arrived about fifteen minutes early to my appointment and walked back out about five minutes after the appointment time. The actual extraction of the tooth was done okay. The reason I will never return to Dr. Abt was the anesthesia part. He basically just jabbed the needle into me and it was quite painful. I know that the needle has to go in and that it will be painful, but I also know that other dentist will do things to minimize the "discomfort". I have had dentist apply a topical anesthetic to the gum before putting in the needle. I have had dentist put the needle in just a little and inject a little anesthetic before moving the needle further. And I have had a dentist jiggle, or something like that, to my jaw as they insert the needle. And, I have had some do multiple things like that to make the experience more tolerable. Not like Dr. Abt, who just seemed to put the needle in as far as he could to get it done with.

Front desk ran smoothly. Back office care, intake by Ruby was wonderful. The Doctor answered all my questions and then some. This morning's surgical procedure was very well handled. So efficient. My husband took the day off from work to drive me home from my surgery. I was to have 3 molar extractions with sedation. After being in the exam for 45 minutes, Sorensen enters the room, lays me back, looks in my mouth and says "yup I agree with your dentist, these need to come out, so my staff will assist with the appointment." And he leaves the room. We were stunned, what just happened. The the DA says "Oh this was your consult, when do you want to come in?" We were pissed, husband missed a day at work, I had my whole next couple of days ready for my recovery. ********May 11th, 2026************* We arrive at appt, I go brush my teeth, they call me back. Made me swish peroxide and then medicated mouth wash. Sorensen comes in, asks if I'm ready. Barely scrapes my mouth with topical, more got on my tongue than actual gums. Then he picks up the needle and just shoves it in my mouth. I screamed, so he goes deeper. My leg was tapping so bad from the pain. Then he does it again, the more I screamed and jerked, the harder he did it. I was crying so bad, tears would not stop coming out, I was shaking from my lower jaw all the way to my toes. My poor husband was shocked to see how aggressive he was and not bat an eye. The DA was explaining it was normal to have the shakes, and tears due to anxiety, adrenaline and medication I sat there in the chair for 25 minutes crying, moaning and uncontrollably shaking. DA gives me a blanket and said I did good. Then Sorensen comes in and says "Ok, you need to wait in the lobby for your wife, aobut 15 minutes." Husband was shocked and they showed him the way out. Sorensen very aggressively starts to pull my lower left tooth out. I scream so loud, then he says "Open wider" (I have a small bite) and I say I cant, then he pushes down on my lower jaw, I hear and felt a pop and cracking, I jerk and scream, they held me down, then he does the 2nd tooth, easier its a top. But when it came to the bottome one, he had a door stop, for lack of a better word, in my mouth as he is pulling my jaw way down. I screamed and grabbed the arms to get up, I said "Ok, that's it, Im done". They push me back down and pull the third one. Then Sorensen says, "Ok all done, have a nice day" with a evil smirk and leaves the room. I leave crying and whimpering and swollen, with lockjaw and blood gushing everywhere. ********One Week Later**** Still cant open my jaw, its locked tight, cant eat solid foods, been in pain everyday all day.....never never go to MARK SORENSEN......not a good dentist.

I needed an implant, one tooth, $4800. He extracted the tooth, supposedly built up the bone etc and said come back in 3 months for the implant. An appointment was made. The dentist from hell recommended the appliance from hell to cover the hole in the front of my mouth. I believe that appliance, looks like something that cost $2.87, cost $800. It needed adjusting just about every day. Never should have been recommended without disclosing its problems. Further and shockingly, the staff expects you to do exactly as you are told. No deviation no back talk just follow the rules and you will be fine. I have the strange belief that the staff is there to serve me , not the reverse. Anyway, after the staff, a veritable Kindergarten, complained about me Montes fired me. He explained, very nicely, that he had to satisfy his staff because they were a team. That leaves patients in left field. Amazing, this guy has no idea how outrageous he is. Goes from bad to worse. I go to another dentist to get the work completed. The x-rays show that there is nowhere near enough bone in that area for an implant to be placed with the hope of any longevity. I notify Montes of this situation and demand a complete refund. He strings me along for a week or so. I finally file suit against him for malpractice, unprofessionalism, abuse and elder abuse. So unless you are sheep and wish to get fleeced or a law student seeking practice I would avoid this Kindergarten like the plague.

The first time I visited his office, I hadn't seen a dentist in a very long time. He worked me in for a humongous filling the same day and successfully avoided a root canal. Winning for my teeth and my wallet. I have seen him regularly since. He recommends conservative treatment -- if possible, take care of problems while they're small and avoid nasty root canals and crowns later on. He is honest about what needs to be done TODAY and what can wait (for me, for my financial/insurance situation to improve). He never makes me feel rushed and always has a smile. I was recently told by another dentist that I needed a crown. Dr. Montes gave me a free second opinion and solved the problem with a filling that was pain-free and absolutely seamless. My husband broke his front teeth in half when he was a kid. After twenty years, they had worn out a bit and Dr. Montes redid them with beautiful results. (And I feel weird saying beautiful either about teeth or my husband, but I did anyway). The office has at least four of the same wonderful, friendly & welcoming receptionists/front office persons/hygienists/dental assistants as 8 years ago. The new hygienist I saw this week is equally wonderful. They are not judgy when I don't floss enough or stain my teeth with coffee (As my sister says -- I provide the teeth, you just clean them in whatever state they're in) or when I need an empty room to breastfeed my kid before we leave. They are extremely efficient in scheduling appointments and dealing with insurance issues. And they make it fun to pop in every six months and update them on what's new with work, kids, etc. like you're visiting an old friend. Also GREAT FOR KIDS. Both of my kids (now 3 and 4) have been seeing Dr. Montes since their teeth grew in. First, for "happy visits" to get them used to the chair and later, for cleanings. I personally don't think the dentist should be disguised as a theme park, and this office is a great professional REALISTIC (hey, sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do) but kid-friendly choice. My three-year-old just had a cavity filled by Dr. Thompson that required no anesthesia. He did not shed a tear and the worst he could say was that "one thing tasted really bad." My insane mother-in-law couldn't even find anything negative to say about Dr. Thompson. Going to the dentist is not fun. This is as good as it gets. I now live 100 miles away and have had enough bad experiences that it's worth it to trek to Prescott 2x/year for our dental needs.
