I requested the NO fluoride pumice polish and Jamie the Hagen used the cherry flavor fluoride polish, fluoride is a neurotoxin! Dr. German tried to hard sell my wife and I on a $1,200 sleep study and mouth guard total BS! We will never go back to pd! Much better dentists in prescott. The other hygienist actually scraped so hard on one of my wife's tooth the crown had to replaced hmmm more profits! PD claims to holistic but they are just like other poorly rated dentists! read more

Prescott Modern Dentistry has been Great for me. Really nice people at the front desk. I have never waited more than 5 minutes. Dr. Brown and Dr. Garrett both do great work, and are very nice people. Dr. Garrett did implants for me. I highly recommend this business. read more

Dr German is good in what he does. He understands dentistry. HOWEVER, they are way too booked to take on new patients. I went it, yes I have cavities (life after cancer) no matter how hard I try with my health, it caught up. They scheduled my daughter asap for her cavity and told me they can't schedule me for 7 weeks even though I have pain. They told me to take NSAID but I'm very intolerant to NSAID. They put me on a waiting list and called me to move an appt a week before but I would have had to cancel my clients for that day, for an appt that they wanted to move a week head. the worst is they missed a really bad cavity. I went for a second opinion and they missed the big cavity. When I asked Dr German for that missed cavity and my concerns they let me go and concluded our doctor-patient relationship. They have too many patients to timely attend to working on cavities. If you care about your teeth, don't be on the back burner go to another dentist. They are awful. Another bad thing, they do the xrays and not many of the other dentists will accept their xrays, my comprehensive xrays done by them most of the images are blurry. I saw the images. I am sad to have to leave a negative review. I've been a patient here for years, and had some really positive interactions with Dr. German and Carrie, the hygienist, who is kind and very thorough. However, I hope Dr. German will read this and make some changes. During my last visit, I was told I had two small cavities, and that I would need to have x-rays done for my insurance to cover the fillings. I really did not want to get x-rays due to health concerns, but I finally consented. You would think a "holistic" dental office would be more understanding about patients wanting to avoid x-ray exposure whenever possible, but instead I faced a lot of pressure. In fact, the x-ray technician's attitude was quite condescending and mocking. She insinuated that I just didn't want to pay for the x-rays, but I explained it's because I have a history of a brain tumor. She told me not to worry because dental x-rays have "less radiation than a banana." I replied that while that may be true, there are different types of radiation. Some are healthy, and some cause cancer. There is infrared radiation, ultraviolet, x-rays, gamma rays...they don't all affect us the same way. Her response was that she "didn't know nothin about gamma rays" and that she had just been given a sheet showing there was more radiation in a banana than a dental x-ray. She then proceeded to take my x-rays. After the first set, I noticed that my thyroid was exposed and asked if there was a collar I could wear. She got visibly annoyed, and told me the collar was on the lead cover she had placed on me, but that I must have moved and exposed my thyroid. Then she proceeded to take MORE x-rays because the first set didn't turn out right. Afterwards, I had my annual bloodwork done and my thyroid antibodies had shot up. I now have Hashimoto's disease, which is known to be caused by radiation exposure. Of course, I cannot prove that this x-ray directly lead to my thyroid function deteriorating. Nonetheless, no one should be subjected to such careless, ignorant and potentially harmful treatment. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this office and I won't be returning. They are so full, they don't need my business anyway. read more

I love how well Dr. Thompson is with my teenage son who has a dental phobia. I'm sad that cleanings are continually being scheduled out 7-8 months. We scheduled him a cleaning 7 months ago and now he has a welding competition that day. When I called to reschedule they are booked out to October. My son will be 18 by then. We now have to make the decision to go elsewhere. Dr. German was nice when I went in with a suspected cavity but he found it to be a receding gumline. Although that was reassuring, he continued to talk about the anatomy of it and also got onto the topic of doing a sleep study which I respectfully listened to however was charged $200 for the appointment and it damaged my rapport there. read more

This is the first review I've written but felt it was important for others to be alerted. Dr. Thompson doesn't stand by his work. I had a wisdom tooth extracted and when this procedure took place a healthy tooth next to it was jolted due to his hand slipping. Not only did I feel the impact, but I also heard Dr Thompson state "I guess I didn't have as good of a grip as I thought". Two days later I contacted the office to inform them this same healthy molar is now chipped and requires attention. I went back to see Dr Thompson and he confirmed there was a chip on the side of the molar (in line with and adjacent to the wisdom tooth he extracted) that will now require a crown. When I asked him to cover the cost of this he said that he wasn't responsible for this and that he never said his hand slipped. Dr Thompson went on to say "we have a real problem here if you don't believe me - it's a separate incident and I won't be covering it". It was clear he wasn't going to stand behind his work so I went to see another dentist - 2 trips later, $500 out of my pocket and a once healthy tooth for over 50 years now with crown. On top of everything else, when this was shared with my insurance company, they filed a claim against Dr Thompson's office for charging his patients more than twice the normal rate. read more

Most rude front office staff in Arizona. We've lived in many cities/towns in AZ. Don't go here unless you want to be insulted and told your bill will be sent to you for immediate payment and you have to get your insurance to reimburse you. No exceptions. -Haha read more

rom Hell in my experience. Very overpriced but comes across as very pleasant, professional and apt. There goes my confidence in my ability to judge people. I needed an implant, one tooth, $4800. He extracted the tooth, supposedly built up the bone etc and said come back in 3 months for the implant. An appointment was made. The dentist from hell recommended the appliance from hell to cover the hole in the front of my mouth. I believe that appliance, looks like something that cost $2.87, cost $800. It needed adjusting just about every day. Never should have been recommended without disclosing its problems. Further and shockingly, the staff expects you to do exactly as you are told. No deviation no back talk just follow the rules and you will be fine. I have the strange belief that the staff is there to serve me , not the reverse. Anyway, after the staff, a veritable Kindergarten, complained about me Montes fired me. He explained, very nicely, that he had to satisfy his staff because they were a team. That leaves patients in left field. Amazing, this guy has no idea how outrageous he is. Goes from bad to worse. I go to another dentist to get the work completed. The x-rays show that there is nowhere near enough bone in that area for an implant to be placed with the hope of any longevity. I notify Montes of this situation and demand a complete refund. He strings me along for a week or so. I finally file suit against him for malpractice, unprofessionalism,abuse and elder abuse. So unless you are sheep and wish to get fleeced or a law student seeking practice I would avoid this Kindergarten like the plague. Read less read more

These doctors are all very very warm, gentle, and take the time to answer questions with understandable explanations. Most importantly I appreciate their up to date experience and ability to find alternative answers to my dental problems, often less intrusive than what had been recommended in the past by other dentists. I recommended them to my 93 year old mother, and she loves them too. Their office staff is excellent and friendly. I take my 2 year old to Dr. Thompson and he is very patient and sweet with her too. My boyfriend needed a tooth extraction. The office staff got him in right away for an exam. Due to my boyfriend schedule, he wouldn't be able to come back for about a week or two. Dr. Thompson stayed late for him the same day in order to pull out the tooth. Dr. Thompson explained where the infection was coming from & what he thought would occur after extraction. Just came out from having four fillings done by Dr. Nathan Thompson and I must say that was the BEST and most PAIN FREE experience at any Dentist I've EVER been to. He did such fine work on my fillings I cannot tell where my tooth ends and the filling begins. His chair side demeanor is professional and happy. I really liked the fact that he and his assistant Toddie let me know step by step what they were doing. It put me at ease. I would recommend him to anyone I like or love.....people I don't like, I will refer to a painful dentist. I also noticed his office was impeccably clean. He is very knowledgable and took his time to discuss all options for my dental care. He also answered every question I had and was easy to understand. I will happily return!!! My dentist since 1982 (Dr. Dale Ring) searched for a practice to move his patients to when he was closing his own clinic. Dale wished that the new practice would reflect the professionalism & quality care that he had provided sine the 1970's here in Prescott. Prescott Dentistry was his choice. I have been totally satisfied with his decision, & have nothing but praise for the new crew. I would recommend them (& I have) to anyone! read more

Conservative treatment, quality work, exceptional staff -- and take your kids here. That's the short story. The long story is that I've been seeing Dr. Montes for 8 years. The first time I visited his office, I hadn't seen a dentist in a very long time. He worked me in for a humongous filling the same day and successfully avoided a root canal. Winning for my teeth and my wallet. I have seen him regularly since. He recommends conservative treatment -- if possible, take care of problems while they're small and avoid nasty root canals and crowns later on. He is honest about what needs to be done TODAY and what can wait (for me, for my financial/insurance situation to improve). He never makes me feel rushed and always has a smile. I was recently told by another dentist that I needed a crown. Dr. Montes gave me a free second opinion and solved the problem with a filling that was pain-free and absolutely seamless. My husband broke his front teeth in half when he was a kid. After twenty years, they had worn out a bit and Dr. Montes redid them with beautiful results. (And I feel weird saying beautiful either about teeth or my husband, but I did anyway). The office has at least four of the same wonderful, friendly & welcoming receptionists/front office persons/hygienists/dental assistants as 8 years ago. The new hygienist I saw this week is equally wonderful. They are not judgy when I don't floss enough or stain my teeth with coffee (As my sister says -- I provide the teeth, you just clean them in whatever state they're in) or when I need an empty room to breastfeed my kid before we leave. They are extremely efficient in scheduling appointments and dealing with insurance issues. And they make it fun to pop in every six months and update them on what's new with work, kids, etc. like you're visiting an old friend. Also GREAT FOR KIDS. Both of my kids (now 3 and 4) have been seeing Dr. Montes since their teeth grew in. First, for "happy visits" to get them used to the chair and later, for cleanings. I personally don't think the dentist should be disguised as a theme park, and this office is a great professional REALISTIC (hey, sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do) but kid-friendly choice. My three-year-old just had a cavity filled by Dr. Thompson that required no anesthesia. He did not shed a tear and the worst he could say was that "one thing tasted really bad." My insane mother-in-law couldn't even find anything negative to say about Dr. Thompson. Going to the dentist is not fun. This is as good as it gets. I now live 100 miles away and have had enough bad experiences that it's worth it to trek to Prescott 2x/year for our dental needs. read more

I was drawn to this practice because of their biomimetic philosophy stated on their website. I knew I had some trouble spots on a couple teeth and my daughter had her first cavity. I didn't want to go to a "drill and fill" practice. They set two hours aside for my appointment. First hour, for the the cleaning - second, for the visit with the dentist. Dr. Thompson was wonderful. He explained so many things to me that I feel every person needs to know/understand about their teeth, for proactive reasons. Dr. Montes saw my three year old daughter. He was wonderful with her. She had no hesitation about letting him navigate around her teeth. He ended up recommending a sealant for her cavity. He explained the process, which put my mind at ease. I had some additional questions, which he was very acommidating over the phone. Two weeks later we went in to do the sealant and it went better than I could have even imagine. The whole procedure took maybe 15 minutes. My daughter left with a healthy attitude towards dentist. We will continue to be patients of this practice indefinitely. read more
