First time meeting Dr Imani was very pleasant. I read some horrible reviews and they couldn't be further from the truth. He was a very nice man. He took time to listen to me and asked a lot of questions to get a feel of who I was. I was very nervous to have to switch doctors but I'm glad I did. My last dr treated me like a number. He would even say, "Send in the next one!" To his secretary. Dr Imani came out of his office said hello and very nicely asked me to have a seat in his office. I wasn't nervous anymore. He made me completely feel comfortable. (I have horrible social anxiety) The lady sitting in the front desk answering the phones and calling patients in was amazing. She was very nice! The most unprofessional office I have ever had to suffer through dealing with medically just to simply fill a medication and get a copy of my records has been so painful. This man pretends to be nice until you actually put him and his awful secretary to work for things like pulling records so you can leave them, they make it an insufferable process to deal with both of them. His new secretary who replaced the nicer older woman he had previous to this entitled one has been the biggest letdown as he hides behind her and won't talk to his patients when it comes to problem solving issues he is causing. I was off my meds for about a month, I called to schedule an appointment and to request my dosage to decrease my meds, I called, left a voicemail, nothing. I called back again and explained to the receptionist everything, she did not make a note of me being off my meds. That would have been an important reason to contact the pt. I didn't receive not a thing. Thank goodness that I wasn't suicidal because if I was, without them not calling me back says a lot about that office. The receptionist ignores the important details from a phone call. They never call you back after you leave a voicemail. The Doctor doesn't allow you to speak. He puts words in your mouth while you speak. He cuts you off while you're talking. The business is not about helping patients, it's about making money and giving you drugs. All of the staff Melissa and Tiffany is rude and unprofessional, they seem irritated with their jobs. If you make a phone call it will not be returned even though they say it will addressed within a 24 hour time frame. Patients are stacked up and you will not be seen at your appointment time. Then the next day the doctor takes the day off. Dr. Armani is an amazing doctor he's compassionate and he listens and as for his staff I feel that they're ruining his opportunity of gaining new new clients and losing existing clients. I have several family members that I wanted to refer to him and his staff has never called them back, as for my situation, I've been trying to get my prescriptions filled for weeks and talk to him. It's very sad and disappointing to be told that I have to wait for an appointment to have my prescriptions filled when I've been on these prescriptions for months now and you're not supposed to be taken off. read more

Dr. Imani was a very nice man. He prescribed the necessary meds that worked and made a huge difference. His staff Melissa, however, is the complete opposite. Lady must not have a man because she was RUDE as hell, kept cutting me off, raised her voice & kept talking over me even after I stopped talking. At the end of our call, she was YELLING at me as if yelling at her man after she caught him cheating. No doubt the doctor and whoever else was in that office heard. Probably the adjacent offices too. I was in shock. UNPROFESSIONAL, UNNECESSARY, and I think Melissa needs meds herself after losing it in the manner in which she did. We cancelled an appointment because my whole family was sick & after leaving SEVERAL messages with no return call from them, I finally got a hold of them- only for Miserable Melissa to RUDELY tell me they called me Saturday (mind you & Yelp doesn't show them open on weekends). I had no missed calls or voicemail from them, so when I asked her to confirm the number, she said she had it wrong. So no wonder I received no return call. Today, after not receiving a call yesterday when she said she'd ask the doctor to refill a prescription just til we see him next week, I called the office for an update. She was soooo rude, cutting me off sarcastically, telling me I declined a Telehealth appointment & I can't get meds til I see the doctor next week. Girl - you had the WRONG NUMBER THIS WHOLE TIME! So it wasn't me who declined! Why the hell would I decline a Telehealth appointment and opt to drive almost 2 hours to Lancaster & another 2+ hours driving back home??? She is sadly a representation of the doctor & from the reviews I see on here, she's a huge part of the problem. I saw Dr. Imani for the first time last week and he was amazing to me. However I had 2 questions after leaving him. I called the office and asked if Dr. Imani would beable to give me documentation stating my diagnosis he gave me so I can submit to my primary doctor. Receptionist stated she will see if he would be OKAY with doing that for me. So I said fine let me know she said if he does I can pick it up in 24hours. The next day I get my prescriptions and the instructions were different from what Dr. Imani and I discussed. I'm already extremely nervous about taking medications I have never took before so I called the receptionist again asking about the follow up for the letter which she said he's been busy hasn't viewed it yet then I asked if she can add about which medication he asked me to take once a day for the 1st week. She states the instructions are on the label for you. Yes I understand that but as I stated he wanted me to try one of the medications once a day for the first week and I totally forgot which one. She said she would add this question for him as well this was last Wednesday today is Monday. So I call right now asking for them to cancel my future appointment and when she asked if I would like to reschedule I stated due to no call backs regarding 2 questions I had with the Dr I no longer wish to proceed seeing him she said ok thank you! I have read the reviews before coming however a lot of times reviews come from people who do not get their way and there's more to it but in this situation I will agree with many the receptionists need to like their job more and be more helpful especially dealing with people who have certain problems with mental health like myself. Been seeing this doctor for my son for 5 years now. He diagnosed him with multiple mental issues. When I ask to make adjustments to his meds due to the fact that they aren't working and they are creating new behavioral concerns he gives me push back every time. Now keep in mind my 15 year old is the size of a grown man (6'1 300lbs) his reasoning is none other than he doesn't like to put kids on a lot of meds or high dosages. That's understandable to an extent but If he is on the correct meds we wouldn't still be having issues, is this not what a psychiatrist is for? He also gave me push back on getting his diagnosis on paper for his therapist along with push back regarding putting a recommendation he made on paper. I strongly do not believe he had my child's best interest at heart but was just collecting a check. He is rude at times and condescending. I feel like I wasted 5 years in trying to assist my child with his mental illness which is very frustrating because after 5 years I feel like I am back at square one. When I addressed these concerns with him for the last time he said, "you will have these problems with him until he's 18" In a too bad so sad kind of tone. I'm so mad he's the only psych in my network that sees minors or I would of changed years ago but I was hoping it would get better. This office has violated HIPAA privacy rights, Also caused my 80 year old mother Who has cancer to suffer from withdrawal by cutting back on her medication's or not getting her medication's correct. They charge her $175 cash for a telehealth visit over the phone! As for myself and my anxiety he prescribed medication that you cannot just stop suddenly. I missed my appointment due to surgery and my pharmacy tried to fill my prescription, Dr. Imani's office denied it until I had a visit with them which was two weeks out and I had no medication. Tiffani the office manager is condescending and doesn't understand the severity of abruptly stopping the medication. They do not care about you at all! When I tried to explain the severity to Tiffany and the other girl who works in the front, they were giggling and told me to have a nice day. This office is useless. It took weeks to get a n appointment. I came in 5 minutes early to a room full of folks waiting. I expected to fill out forms and did, but I also expected to actually see a doctor within an hour of my appointment like every other therapist or psychiatrist I've seen, but NO. I overheard that the doctor had taken a late lunch and so every person in the waiting room would have a late appointment that day. I was not the only person to mention that I had things to do like pick up children, like most regular human beings with lives beyond seeing a psychiatrist. This "doctor" is the most incompetent money hungry man I have ever met. He diagnosed me with bipolar disorder, great, he was right. Pit me on lithium and my life literally turned around. BUT when it come to my refills, I have to call because he won't give you a refill, his secretary always has an attitude and they literally NEVER answer the phone. The staff in this office is in severe need of training. As a professional from another company I can see the lack of initiative to attend to the public at large is evident by the failure to return phone calls or take a message and actually receive a call back. The worst psychiatrist I have ever met! The first six appointments I've had with him he couldn't even remember my name or anything he had asked me the numerous times I've seen him. And this latest appointment he tried to make my husband commit insurance scam! My husband's work requested Imani to fill out FMLA forms so it would make it ok for my husband to step out of work without having to take time off to care for me in cases where my disorder gets bad. Imani refused saying my husband would have to be a patient of his in order for him to fill out those forms! It makes absolutely no sense! Imani wanted to give my husband a fake diagnose and take him as a "patient" to bill our insurance even more just so he can do what's expected to do, and that's to take care of me, his actual patient! I visited Dr. Imani and was unsatisfied with the level of care and service he provided. I visited him regardless of his poor reviews because he is the closest psychiatrist to me. I should have sucked it up and drove to Valencia. Imani is hands down the worst "doctor" I have ever come across and I've visited many physicians in the past. I'm appalled that a man like this is actually practicing medicine. He was treating me for depression, despite me not having problems with depression. I also didn't have a problem with anxiety but once again he jumped to conclusions and diagnosed me with depression and anxiety. I told him that I have a problem with restlessness and I guess this means anxiety. He led me to answer questions the way he wanted me to, by using his clever questioning techniques he diagnose me with depression! I don't have a problem with depression, I'm paraphrasing here but he asked me if I ever feel sad and I thought "who doesn't". When I visited him today as a follow up appointment, it started off well. Things took a turn for the worst when I told him I didn't like the way the current medication made me feel. He prescribed me depression and anxiety medication and guess what? It wasn't making me feel good because I don't need to be taking that Me: "I don't like how this medication makes me feel" Imani: "Your brain doesn't gage improvements very well" Me:" I feel this medication is making things worse for me" Imani: "WHAT DO YOU WANT!?" "I'm not prescribing you medication A or B" Me: "I never asked you for medication A or B, I just said I didn't like how this made me feel". Imani: "you need to get organized" "Here is this medication but its not as good as the one you are on now". (pulls out phone) " here is the medication C I'm prescribing you" (I don't even know how to interpret the data on his phone he is showing me) Me: "thanks I guess" BTW there isn't more to this story, in case you're wondering I didn't go to med school so why would a Psychiatrist ask me what medication I want? 250 dollars an hour is what he charges! Spent 10 minutes with him but I'm sure my insurance will get billed for the full amount. Had he spent the full hour with me to properly diagnose me correctly, I wouldn't be walking out of there with a medication that wasn't what I needed. Do not take your children to him, I'm 31 years old and if he did this to me then your child doesn't stand a chance! This man needs to revisit his Hippocratic oath. I went to his practice in canyon country. Stay away from this man. I suffer from addiction, depression, and anxiety. I got off suboxone before I visited him and he tried putting me on it for 2 years. He prescribed me seroquel, for anxiety which makes you really sleepy, i didn't like it and he told me to cut it in half to "get used to it" I called them a week before I visited him for me third and LAST appointment and over the phone I got xanax for my anxiety which helped. He denied ever prescribing it to me and proceeded to tell me he would never give it to an addict. It literally says his name on the bottle ordered to Walgreens and I have never been prescribed it before. Mind you I'm 6 months sober, have a sponsor, and have someone holding my pills. He said that Benadryl helps with anxiety. Are you kidding?! I don't want to sleep. I was prescribed amitriptyline for sleep aide and he needed to google it to see how to spell it lol. He's a joke, very unprofessional, you ask about side affects, he says " there is a lot of side affects". read more

My wife has been seeing Dr. Imani for the past four years. She is a Schizoaffective Bipolar and has been treated by doctors is 11 States, with some of the highest credentials possible. Dr. Imani ranks as one of the best. He is professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and well-prepared. His demeanor is compassionate and appropriate. Those who complain must be viewed with an understand of who his patients are and their, sometimes understandable, issues that they bring to the table. I have extensive training in the scientific method, have taught anatomy & physiology and have advanced training, two at the masters level, and one a doctorate.
