After having seen a Dr. I trusted So much for many years, I moved to Palmdale. It was difficult to find another Psychiatrist I trusted, until I found Dr. Roy Del Rosario. He genuinely cares about you as a patient, always returns phone calls, and will not over medicate. He finds and prescribes the specific medication for you need. Highly competent, and caring, he has earned my implicit trust, which is saying allot. I've been on the same medication for 25 years, and it works. Unlike some others, Dr. Del Rosario, doesn't try to re-invent the wheel. If you're medications are working, he stays with them. I'm very grateful for that, as I had another Doctor insist on changing my regiment for the sake of change. It caused a relapse of symptoms, which was extremely distressing, to say the least. So, If you're looking for a caring, compassionate, Very intelligent Psychiatrist in the Antelope Valley area, I don't believe you will find a better one than Dr. Del Rosario. read more

Dr. Del Rosario is an excellent doctor, but the office care is attriocous. It is understaffed. I am unable to contact anyone by phone and mailboxes are full, so messages can't be recorded. One time, I called a day in advance to cancel a phone appointment because my daughter had a baby. I got billed for the visit, even though I had proof I called and left a message on their phone because no one answers the phone. The last phone visit, the doctor was 40 minutes late and I accidentally hung up the phone when the doctor called. I immediately called him back several times, and all I got was his mailbox was full, so I sent him a text message to call me. Then I called 3 other numbers and they never answered the call. Then I texted messages to the other phone numbers to call me back. No response. Later in the day I got a call telling me they were billing me for a missed appointment. I called my insurance company to complain. They connected the doctors office to our conversation. I explained I was still within my appointment time and it was not my fault that they don't respond to any of my many messages. She then said they only have 2 people in the office. It is not my fault they are understaffed. It if the doctor's fault for running an such an unprofessional office. Several times, I have had to drive to the office to get Prescriptions for my husband sent to the pharmacy, because he was out of meds and the weren't sent in. After 5 years of stress dealing with the office and billing problems, I am finding another psychiatrist. read more

First of all, my insurance assigned me to this place. After getting assigned, I tried calling for 3 days to get an appointment. Nobody ever returned my calls after I left multiple voicemails. I finally went in and the staff at the front desk is so unprofessional. The female at the front desk was on her phone until I looked at her phone and looked at her. She told me they needed to verify with their billing department if I was covered. I explained to her how my insurance had assigned me to them but she said they still needed to verify and it would take several days. She said she would call me once the verification was done to schedule an appointment. Several days passed, nothing. I finally went in again and she was on her phone watching videos, of course. So I asked if the billing department had verified and she had to check. She said yes. But she could not schedule me yet because the doctor still needed to review my intake forms. Please keep in mind at this point, I've been waiting for a week to get an appointment. She said she would contact me in the next 2 days to schedule me once the doctor had finished looking over my intake forms. I texted their office number 2 days later to see if I was able to schedule something. I got no response. Nothing! I eventually got fed up with their runaround and called my insurance to assign me someone else, which they did in 2 days. Called the new place on a Friday and Monday morning I was called back by the new place. Scheduled an appointment for that same day! Clearly, it shouldn't be jumping through hoops just to get an appointment. read more

I have been seeing Dr Roy Del Rosario for a few years now. When we first met he had to convince me to take my medication this took a while well over a year. But he was patient and kind and worked with me. It is true that you have to call and leave a message it always has been, but phone calls are always returned usually by the end of that day. Dr. Marites DelRosario is a good Dr. She is very thorough. I recommend her. She has been my Dr. for over 7 years.

Roy Del Rosario has to be, by far, the worst psychiatrist I have ever had to deal with. This guy never answers his phone, requiring you to leave a message every time, like he's hiding from his worst creditors. I met him one time and knew he wasn't any kind of physician. Don't waste your time. These people do not even answer the phone let alone care. Not to mention the stories i've heard. Give it a go yourself, i encourage ! I don't know why they even bother to have reviews etc. On the third attempt calling, on the third day , all i get is "We can put you on the waiting list." -That's after i was already on some "waiting list" -Just my opinion. If it's like this before even stepping into the office , i can only imagine the types of things going on here. I'm wondering if hubby can write wife's scripts and vise versa, is that allowed? Roy Rosario is one of the absolute worst psychiatrists I have ever been to in my whole life and now I have no trust in these kind of doctors for anything anymore. I went last year because my symptoms were acting up really badly and my therapist recommended them. Like other people on Yelp have said, getting them to answer their phone is damn near impossible and they took 3 WEEKS to get me into an appointment. I can understand it taking a long time if busy, but Jesus Christ, urgent care takes less time to get into! When I finally say Roy Rosario, he was rude, condescending, and got angry that I dared disagree with him when I said that medicinal cannabis was helping my symptoms, and get this: my appointment was supposed to be for an hour, but they only saw me for 20 minutes because he had such a nasty, condescending attitude with me that I told him I wanted to leave because he was making me feel really uncomfortable, and I quite frankly got tired of listening to him trying to rudely talk down to me just because he disagreed with me over a simple matter. Very unprofessional indeed! His front desk girl then got very rude with me and treated me like some kind of homeless tramp when my insurance didn't go through, supposedly due to "non-payment". WTF? When I called my insurance company to see what happened, they calmly explained that their payment system went down the day before and my payment would be processed in a few hours, and that my insurance had a 3-month grace period anyways, so there shouldn't have been any reason why it didn't go through. I angrily called this chick and demanded that the she call my insurance company to fix the problem right then and there, and that they can forget about scheduling another appointment for me because I would never be coming back to that hellhole ever again! She got really silent and just said "... I'll call you back.", then hung up on me. Six months later, they sent me a bill for $350!!!!! You people have GOT TO BE FREAKING KIDDING ME! These people BALANCED BILLED me because supposedly my insurance company wasn't "in-network", despite me making that stupid front desk chick verify that my insurance was accepted there. Part of me makes me wonder if they tried to do this out of spite because I dared disagree with Roy and left because of how he treated me. Unluckily for them and luckily for me, I know a lot about legal issues since I studied to be a lawyer at one point and I knew that what they were trying to do here is called BALANCE BILLING, and in the state of California, THIS IS ILLEGAL. I called my insurance company and told them my story, and they very quickly agreed with me that what they did was not legal in any way, shape, or form whatsoever and changed it to my appropriate co-pay. DO NOT go to these awful people if you don't have to; go to the valley, or literally anywhere else if you can! read more

This is the first Yelp Review I've ever given, and I'm only giving her a star because I can't give her less. First off, her treatment towards her patients could be construed as borderline harassment, which is unfit for a psychologist who treats those that have mental issues. Secondly, she was always half an hour late to every single appointment I ever had with her, almost like clockwork. But the most egregious task was when she instructed me in the process of getting a procedure I desperately needed, she said I needed a Psychological Evaluation first, which of course, she couldn't perform and didn't tell me anyone who could. So I spent a year of my life chasing a POINTLESS PROCEDURE ONLY TO FIND OUT A YEAR LATER THAT I NEVER ACTUALLY NEEDED ONE. Here I am, days away from ACTUALLY getting the procedure begun, and leaving this review as a bit of a walk down memory lane. Go to literally anyone else, don't waste your time with her, because she'll waste yours. read more

I would not recommend this doctor to anybody. I had to call four times before I had anybody return my message. The only reason they returned my call is because on the fourth message I stated that I have left three messages and their answering machine says that you will return calls, so I'm wondering why you're not returning my call. I was calling to set up an appointment for my child. So when they finally returned my four phone messages they told me that you can only come in to make an appointment. So I took off work to go there to make an appointment and they would not help me because they said their computers were down and had been down since yesterday. No offer of let me take your name and information down, nothing. I was originally referred to call this doctor by our psychologist. She stated that this doctor is the only board-certified child psychiatrist in the Antelope Valley. I consider that a real shame for residents of the antelope valley that do not have means to travel out of this town to go to a board certified child psychiatrist. I, however, want what is best for my child, have the means to leave the AV for quality care for my child, so I will be seeking services elsewhere. This place is not best for my child when they cannot even show enough good customer service to call people back and it takes extreme measures to make an appointment. (And please note that two of the four messages that were left where left on this doctors direct voice message that was said to be confidential) Therefore I do not recommend this doctor, I do not believe she cares like she should, and her business is not ran as well as it should be. She may be the only board-certified child psychologist in the AV, but she is obviously not the best. It should not take a month to make an appointment. I am an educator in the AV and have had several students that I know go to psychiatrists. I am appalled and saddened if they have had to come here and have their parents deal with this horrible service. As a parent, you are already going through the heartache of having a child that you need to bring to the psychiatrist to begin with. This should not be so stressful. There should be kinder more compassionate people working with getting clients in for appointments. My recommendation is to save any heartache, and find someone else to help your child. read more

My daugther had an alarming breakdown on a Sunday night for the first time; not knowing where to take her I called n asked around until a friend highly recomended Dr. Del Rosario, but when I called Monday morning the receptionist asked me about my insurance info; when I told her that since the insurance policy was just effective a couple of days before thru Cover California and I did not have the whole info with me I wanted to pay cash for this consultation, she then said that the office normally prefers to bill the insurance Cos. for their services; after 3 attempts to set up the appointment and offering to pay cash, I received the same answer, then she reccomended me to call back when I had the insurance info n proceed saying that anyway there were no appointments available but after almost 2 months later; when I asked her if she could recommend me another doctor she said no and a and hung up me.
