Dr. Gittleman is so knowledgeable and puts you right at ease. His staff is equally as professional and kind. As much as I hate to say any of this, I have to. Dr. Gittleman's office seems to be falling apart. Multiple staff changes (seems like a new staff every time we walk through the door) over our past several visits. My family has been going to Dr. Gittleman for 20 plus years. My girls have never seen another dentist. We have always had positive experiences. However, both my daughters and I have been unhappy with our last few appointments. Random cancellations to confirming three times and arriving and being told "you don't have an appt". Different hygienists' each visit. Feeling rushed through the appointment from long waits in the lobby to rush you out the door. All of us are now experiencing pain after each cleaning. Rough treatment! Both my girls had braces as teens and say the recent cleanings are more painful than the braces ever were. Cost! We are billed more than insurance covers for bi-yearly scheduled cleanings. I understand that cost's rise but every time we go in it's something new on the bill. My entire adult life the "bi-yearly cleanings and one set of x-rays" was billed and covered by insurance. Now, we are being billed beyond that for routine cleanings. None of us have issues with our teeth that should warrant cost beyond the cleaning. Unfortunately, we are now looking for another dentist office in the area that has their act together. read more

I have been a patient for 5 years. I tried to be patient and overlook last minute cancellations, on their end, their error. But here I have a last minute cancellation for tomorrow. Also, the doctor has had me concerned. I have seen him blurry eyed (alcohol) and wondering if the constant staff turnover has to do with a man that has personal problems. read more

I used to love and look forward to coming to my dentist appointments. Been a faithful patient for years and it is so unfortunate to see the place just failing in professionalism and common courtesy these last few visits. From random text messages with appointment confirmations that I didn't set and never agreed to that differ from my previous confirmation to arriving 15 min early for my scheduled appointment (as a courtesy and as requested because you're penalized if you're late) and waiting 15min only to be told the hygienist is running "around another 20min later than your appointment time" due to a patient that was here 2hours ago taking extended time and putting her behind!!! How inconsiderate and infuriating! I hate change but boy is it time. I've had it. read more

I have been going to Dr. Gittelman since I was a child. I just wanted to publicly post a review about how wonderful this Dentist office is. Dr. Gittelman, without a doubt is very knowledgeable. But he also is funny, very personable and makes every visit enjoyable. My hygienist Joan, is super thorough. Not sure if I could ever find another like her! My children too have come since they were kids. Despite the fact that its been like over 25 years since my first visit, these people don't age! lol Awesome place! read more

We had been looking for a new dentist and tried Dr. Gittelman because he was close out our home. This turned out to be a horrible experience. The personality of the entire place is just creepy. The dentists 'sense of humor' is incredibly weird. A few weeks later, we got a surprise bill of over $300 for a simple cleaning because they failed to bill our insurance. We have been in communications with the office for several months on this and never could get the business manager to return our calls so we could get them to bill insurance. And then, to top it off after NO response from the dental office, they turned it over to collections. So now I paid the bill, and am paying our attorney to recoupe a lousy $300+ when all of this could have been avoided if they would have simply returned my calls. Highly NOT recommended. read more

My mother went to Dr Gittelman a short while ago. She has been seeing him for years. She went there because she was having a lot of discomfort, they did not take any x-rays. They told her she did not have any cavities without taking an x-ray. We are seeing another dentist in a week. I'm pretty sure they will be taking x-rays. read more

Once again, Dr. Gittelman has gone above and beyond in a caring, professional way! I had a crown pop off and stopped by the office without an appointment. He fixed me right up! I have gone to his practice for about 14 years now and have had a couple of situations where he went out of his way to take care of some unexpected emergencies in addition to his caring work twice a year with my cleaning. I highly recommend this office if you are looking for a good dentist, good dental hygienists, and a practice that won't take advantage of you! read more

I really wanted to like this place because everyone was nice but the bottom line is, Gittleman ignored my request and did what he wanted to do. I went in to fix ONE tooth and they fixed the tooth they wanted to fix instead. I walked in telling them that I had no insurance but i had free dental coverage with the VA but I couldn't get to my doctor until August so I wanted them to fix the one tooth that was causing me pain and i'd be paying out of my pocket with no insurance. I told them I wasn't going to fix the other four cavities even though I knew they were there because they did not hurt and I was gonna let them be fixed for free at the VA. I told the person on the phone, the person at the front desk, and the dental assistant who did my xrays. I told glittleman which tooth i wanted fixed. I told each person that i went to my VA doctor LAST MONTH, i KNEW i had 5 cavities, one hurt badly and the others didn't hurt at all so i wanted that ONE tooth fixed and leave the other teeth alone because I was going to get them fixed in August for free. Instead, the doctor filled the tooth he wanted to fill and ignored the tooth that was causing me pain. He didn't really explain anything about the tooth that I had pain in, he was totally infatuated with the fact that my three 25-year-old crowns didn't look like they fit right. He was shocked that I didn't have pain under the crowns, and asked me numerous times about it because "they would need to be replaced". But not one comment about the tooth that I came in about. All that time in there, all that pain, all the discomfort, I thought he was fixing that tooth.I didn't even realize he had been working on a different tooth until two days later when I touched the same painful tooth and it still hurt, then i realized the filling was in a tooth that didn't hurt. When I went back to try to understand why they did that, I was told that the doctor FELT my other tooth needed more attention than the tooth I came in to get fixed. In addition, I was told that the tooth I came in about, had no damage so it likely WAS a root issue and IT WAS LUNCHTIME and the doctor decided it was easier to fix THAT tooth and deal with the painful tooth when HE had more time. No one mentioned any of this to me when I was there. All these decisions were made without consulting me. They took away my option to make any kind of decision about what I wanted done. I asked about the painful tooth and they told me to use Sensodyne until I could get to my appointment in August and then they put some type of covering on it that was supposed to protect the nerve and should last a minimum of a few weeks. It fell off like a corn husk in about six hours. I paid $500 to fix the tooth that would've been free and the tooth that hurts is still hurting. They offered me no refund, no transfer of funds to the tooth I wanted fixed. They were very nice but I just can't get past the fact that the doctor not only decided to fix a different tooth, but didn't even tell me that that was what he was doing. He didn't even explain to me what was wrong with the tooth I came in about. I Was told on the phone I would not have to pay an exam fee because I just had an exam and an x-ray the month before at the VA and I already knew that I had five cavities to be filled. When the bill came up, they did charge me the $88 for the exam. I'm just sad and disgusted. I didn't go to the dentist for a few years because of stuff like this. People just drill in your head and do what they want and treat you like you don't matter. When i came back, i had to ask Dr Nadler to allow me to voice my concern six times before she just let me vent my concern, she kept cutting me off, I was just a number and a fee, thats all. Gittleman never apologized or even talked to me. We are about to go to Hawaii and I wanted that tooth fixed. I've wasted my time and my money, my tooth is not fixed and now it's too late to go someplace else to get it done. I'm so sorry I picked this dentist. I've decided I'm going to ask for a refund, we'll see how that goes. There just seems to be no more integrity out there. Due to location of my career thru the years, I have had to use other dentist, but this only proved how important a great staff and dentist can be. I don't know why it is so hard for the staff to put the right name on my chart. Maybe I shouldn't pay my bill, since the invoice is directed to the wrong person. Secondly, it took three visits to get a filling done correctly. Three!!! Clearly, you are nothing more than a patient number without a face or name in this place. Evident when they can't get my name right. It's very unsettling when the dentist talks to his staff, but never addresses you! And when you return to a follow-up (a concern over a brand new filling coming out in less than a month), you never see the dentist. Everything is relayed to him because he's just too busy. I had driven past this dental office for over 15 years... in 2018 I was in need of a new dentist and decided to give Dr. Gittelman a try because of the proximity to my home. I walked in and was impressed with the office, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and Dr. Gittelman.
