What a cute coffee shop this is. Firs right in with the neighborhood. They have a table outside where I sat to have something to eat that I got from another nearby restaurant. I was in the mood for an Iced Latte so I said to myself why not try out a new place. When I walked in I heard this cool, calming sound and was intrigued by it. I looked up and there were coffee beans coming from the ceiling and they were being sorted I guess. I told the lady working there WOW I could watch this all day. And she goes isn't it somewhat relaxing to hear and I totally agreed with her. I did not try any of the pastries here. I just had an iced latte which to me was a bit too strong/bitter. I totally would recommend people stopping by here though!

You can choose what roast of bean you'd like in your espresso / drink. Great holiday / seasonal menu. I would love to come again

Not a place to study or anything (no tables) but great for a quality coffee to go. DIRTY CHAI LATTE (ICED) I think a good coffee drink blends the coffee flavor and the rest of its components (milk, sweetener, other flavors) into a well-married experience that kind of just tastes like one happy flavor journey. The chai flavor is a bit on the weaker side, but it's definitely there in the background spicing and celebrating this really smooth and delicious milky and coffee flavor combo. There's no harsh bitterness that comes through that you have to tolerate and it's not too sweet or creamy; it's honestly quite good. Brown Butter Cookie - left a bit more to be desired, but a cool item that you don't see elsewhere. It wasn't too sweet (has salt on it as well) and does have a deep brown butter flavor. Would def come back here though most of their menu focuses on the basics and that's probably because they do the basics well. Also a bit of theatrics as when the barista pulls the beans it comes from a machine that puts it through a tube and you can hear the beans scattering their way over to the barista. Lots of machinery here to show you the whole coffee process. How cool!

The ambiance here is cute and the service is great! I loved that I got to pick my beans (even though I needed help doing so). That being said, the coffee was ridiculously expensive and not anywhere near extraordinary. I barely tasted the syrups I got, and my small iced latte was definitely not worth the $8.70 I paid for it.

Every time I go to roasting plant , there's great customer service and quality drinks . I especially enjoy their chai latte with oat milk .

I was a bit overwhelmed when they asked me what beans I would like! I'm like what? No one ever asks me that when I order coffee! Amazing! They have many different types but decided to pick the medium barista recommended one. Wow, the latte was SO good with just the right amount of sugar! No regrets and will be back when I'm in the area!

One of the COOLEST coffee shops I've ever visited!! You get to select which coffee beans you want roasted for your drink, and they roast it right there! The coffee tasted super yummy, and I chose the Jamaican flavor (based on how empty that tube was hehe) My drink was sweet like vanilla but my friends was more nutty. It's crazy how much the coffee bean impacts the flavor! Overall, the employees were super friendly and explained more about the concept behind the store. This is a fun experience with good coffee so a win win! Definitely worth visiting if you're a tourist! FYI- there's only 2 chairs for seating outside and no seating indoors! Not a good place for sitting around or studying!!

Good ice Americano and blueberry scone This place has the best coffee in the neighborhood! What a cute coffee shop this is. The ambiance here is cute and the service is great! Every time I go to roasting plant , there's great customer service and quality drinks.

This place isn't your typical coffee shop that sells sweetened coffees like Starbucks. It's meant for individuals who genuinely enjoy coffee. Wide array of beans covering so many interesting flavor profiles. I felt like a child in a candy shop. 5/5 and would highly recommend anyone to visit if they love black coffee. The staff were so knowledgeable and friendly as well, made me feel very welcome. One thing to know however is that there is very limited seating! Seems like it's more meant for grab and go.

This place is tiny and is more like a quick grab-and-go type of café. There was a line going to the outside at some point. They sell many different kinds of roasted beans from different regions, which is awesome. I can definitely see myself picking up beans in the near future. I had the flashchilled iced coffee, which had a great flavour. It was a bit of a bummer because it was so much ice.

This is such a cool place! Unique setup that pulls your beans from sealed bins containing a fresh roast from so,e time in the day. Maybe eight or so different origin beans and roasts ( light to dark). Being a scientist myself, I loved the setup and automation. The barista was extremely friendly and talked us through the entire process. She even roasted a batch ( fully automated) while we were there. The cappuccinos were very good and exactly as described ( smooth, light, chocolatey) . I loved the visual experience as much as the coffee itself. Limited seating.

i learned about roasting plant through a case study in my college course, and i knew i had to visit here on my vacation. the employees explained to me how the flash chiller and javabot work. literally the coolest kindest funniest employees ever!! definitely made my day if not my entire trip

    Brewed from Guatemala beans

My review is for their beans alone. The barista said they roast their beans right there every night. Coffee beans don't get fresher this ! I bought single origin medium roasted beans from Guatemala and Brazil. They are both excellent. Luckily my coffee Grinder and espresso machine can keep up with the high quality beans. Love the reasonable price too!

If texture doesn't bother you (liberal amount of black sesame!), I'd suggest getting this latte (10/10). Both pastries were great in their own right. For my second matcha of the day, this matcha was like your everyday/average matcha. Can't go wrong, but it wasn't mind-blowing. If you're in the Theatre District, I'd definitely recommend popping in for a drink & a treat!

I had seen their cute pastries online and wanted to check them out. We got the items above and a few coffees. The cakes are cute. Tho not as light and fluffy as I was expecting. I thought they'd be more like the asian bakeries we have back in SF. Not as sweet as american desserts, but it was kinda in between. The egg sandwich I really wanted to like since I've been craving one. But the it was sooo dry. Definitely needed more mayo. And the bread wasn't very fluffy either. Cute spot if you want cute desserts. Tho I think they are more geared towards posting on socials. REVIEW #3999

There is some counter space, but mainly for standing purposes. I ordered a standard Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk ($7.35) and my friend got her usual Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte ($8). Docking 1/2 point bc the matcha is pre-made. I'm a fan of the whisking process bc I do believe there's a craft to matcha overall. Surprisingly, my drink tasted fine and my bev was a good color, so I was pleasantly happy. We waited less than 10 min for a table to open up, but you have to be there at the right time, otherwise you prob just grab your drink + go. Overall, glad I tried Kijitora. It's not my first matcha choice, but it was decent for a standard matcha latte. Their specialty matcha drinks look to have mixed reviews, but I'm personally not a fan of sweet drinks.

The tote bags were so cute but they were kind of pricey in my opinion. A standard beige Kijitora bag was priced for $30 each! They had several designs for sale. I was just busy checking out the cool cat merchandise while I was waiting in the long line to purchase the matcha drinks. The line was exceptionally long! It was worth the hype though! When I was my turn, I got an iced strawberry matcha latte and an iced mango matcha latte. It was so pretty when I got them. The mango and strawberry paste were sitting at the bottom of the matcha latte. I had to stir and mix the fruits with the whole drink. Surprisingly it was not sweet at all and was just right! They made it in a way that wanted you to crave more of it. It was very addicting. I did not get onigiris this time but will be sure to get some next time I'm here. They were just $4 each for miso salmon, tuna mayo, mentaiko cod roe, sukiyaki beef, and chashu pork. What a decent price for one onigiri! I would definitely be sure to get the miso salmon next time I'm here. The place was very cute with nice little tables for individuals. The place was very cozy with lots of sunlight coming in. Very modern with plants all around. It was so loud with people talking over each other. There were too many people on a Sunday afternoon so I had to walk around or cut through people to get my way. It was that crowded. I also didn't expect this place to be on the second floor and the stairs to be that steep. It was hectic carrying my stroller upstairs. Luckily someone helped me get down! The stairs are very narrow so I had to hold onto the rail. It was not ergonomically friendly at all.

I probably never leave reviews in general, especially negative ones, but this experience was so…read moreegregious that I honestly felt like I had to say something. I've worked in restaurants and bars long enough to understand that staff drinking happens, but this was on another level entirely. I came in with a group of friends and one of the bartenders, Will, was so visibly drunk that it made the entire experience uncomfortable. Slurred speech, wobbling behind the bar, taking orders while chewing food with his mouth open -- it was honestly embarrassing to watch. He looked like he absolutely did not want to be there. At one point, my group had been trying to get his attention for another round for quite a while while he stood around talking with coworkers. We then watched staff take a shot together, and when he finally came over he burped mid-conversation and literally had whatever he had just been drinking dribbling down his neckbeard. That was the moment where the whole thing went from unprofessional to just gross. What made it worse was that it didn't seem isolated to one employee. Throughout the night we watched staff openly taking shots and drinking behind the bar like it was a house party instead of a business. There's a difference between bar culture and complete lack of professionalism, and this crossed that line hard. One of the friends I was with actually frequents the DUMBO location and said that the last time she was there, the same bartender also seemed intoxicated, which makes this feel less like a bad night and more like an ongoing issue. The DUMBO location itself is in an amazing spot, which makes it even more disappointing. But ownership seriously needs to get control of what's going on there before someone gets hurt or the place develops a reputation for having drunk staff on the clock. Unfortunately, the experience was uncomfortable enough that my girlfriends and I won't be coming back. I genuinely hope the employee mentioned gets help if this is a regular thing, because nobody should be working service in that condition.
