The BBQ ribs were tender, falling off the bone, the sauce was decent but seemingly very generic. The collard greens and macaroni did not taste like my Grandma made them, so I could have done without them. The sweet tea was a hit. My 12 year old son enjoyed his ribs, but I will say he probably hasn't had BBQ ribs outside of a place like Fridays - i hope this adds some color for you. Came here for lunch the other day as I have for many years. The food was just as good, but the service has gone severely downhill. Had to ask for service from three other servers since my waitress disappeared most of the time. And, on top of that, they've started charging 50 cents per cornbread/dinner roll which used to be complementary. I can buy a box of Jiffy cornbread mix for just over a dollar that makes 6! I sat at the bar and ordered fried green tomatoes, ribs, meatloaf, and mac n cheese. The fried green tomatoes are excellent but you only get two. The ribs are decent (nothing to look forward to), the meatloaf is amazing. The mac and cheese are above average. I also got a piece of cornbread and roll. Food was god awful literal 2/10 the only thing I liked on my plate was the Mac and cheese I got the 5 finger platter with two sides Mac and cheese and sweet potato soufflé and a peach cobbler the chicken wasn't good the sweet potatoes wayy too mushy with no crumble and the cobbler was mushy and cold even worse heated up it tasted like raw dough. Food is always good. I always get the 1/2 chicken white or dark. The broccoli and cauliflower casserole is a hit for me. The creamed spinach needs a little help as it didn't taste right the latest visit but it has been better in the past. The baked beans do have bacon in them just a heads up for those who don't eat pork. They have game day specials and it's a nice spot to also catch games as they have many tvs . They do close at 9pm. So this place is very dear and close to my heart. When I was in my early twenties me and my family would come here and eat regularly. Since about 2018ish we didn't really go there as much. On yesterday, me , my dad, and my seven year old son went to go and have dinner to there. We haven't been in so long. I was really upset when I became a resident of Alpharetta , they closed the one down by the Kroger on highway-9. It use to be me my mom and dad. We lost her sweet face on June 15,2018. It was perfectly fried! Once I added salt, it was the best fish and chips I ever ate! The fries were good too but the fish was the highlight. The mac and cheese is good. The cheese is more of a cheese sauce than baked mac and cheese. The fried green tomatoes are perfect. I tried the amaretto cake with white chocolate frosting which was a dessert special. The frosting was way too sweet. The other dessert special was peanut butter mousse cake. They also have a variety do sides and other dessert dishes.
