The food was delicious. We got the flatbread chicken bbq pizza and roasted salad. Both were great and we would order them again. Very clean, well lit, and plenty of tables. When this place gets busy, they get busy. So avoid Sunday if you don't want to wait. It will take awhile to get your food when they're packed. They seem to run with very few staff. The kitchen is out in the open so you can see and hear everything that goes on. So you hear the daily frustrations of a busy kitchen. It seems very hipster at first glance, they don't allow conceal weapons, lots of progressive events, vegan options, but its customers are normal, hometown folks. Was passing through Cadillac and needed something quick, but wanted something good to eat. Came across Roasted on yelp and decided to give it a go. Roasted: A Cadillac Gem! One of the best Avo Toast dishes I've EVER had. Runny yolk, perfectly crispy edges and fresh Avacado. So well, balanced (and prepared) it didn't even need salt and pepper. After driving an hour for mom's Dr appt and waiting to see Dr because silly me had changed the date, didn't update my calendar, and showed up a week early, we were hungry. This place was just 1.5 miles from Dr's office and had a good rating on Yelp. Had to park in back and thought I had hit the jackpot when there was a parking space across from entrance. Walked into door to a set of stairs to go up. Mom was a trooper and slowly climbed the stairs. As we entered we were hit with a haze from what seemed like something was burned. Our hope was that it would pass. It did get a little better but not much. Not sure if their venting system was broke or ??? The kitchen area is open to the dining area. I led Mom to a table in the front and realized that you had to order at the counter. I found one menu so we had to share. Mom had a chicken quesadilla with coffee and I had a BLT Panini with a cappuccino. The cappuccino wasn't bad but I thought the coffee had a slight bitter taste. Mom didn't complain about her coffee. She said the quesadilla was good. It came with a salsa that is spicy and a ranch type sauce. As usual mom took home half. The BLT panini was ok. Nothing to rave about. The best part was the fish art on the wall. All the fish are made from recycled materials. Very creative. I would suggest parking in front on Mitchell if u can. I was excited but then kind of disappointed. The place sounded cool. I was from out of town and it looked interesting. When we walked in, it just felt kind of odd. Definitely could work on atmosphere. Then, I think they had just had a huge order maybe but the service left a lot to be desired. The two there seemed more than annoyed to have to wait on us. We got breakfasts, coffee and a croissant in order to try everything. The coffee was OK. The food was OK but with a bit to be desired (overcooked eggs, black potato chunks). Roasted is a super cute new coffee and cafe spot in downtown Cadillac! The whole menu looked really good, but I went with the iced crème brûlée latte and avocado toast. The latte wasn't overly sweet (a pet peeve of mine) and wasn't too full of ice. The avocado toast was flavorful and filling. I especially loved the cherry tomatoes and egg on top. I did add some salt and would have loved some hot sauce on it. I was happy to wait for my to-go order, but it certainly wasn't a quick stop. I waited 20 minutes for my order.
