Wurst n kraut platter

It's a super cute riverside restaurant, with cottages, RV hookups vineyards and wine tastings. We went for a late lunch on a Thursday. Waitress was attentive was hot out but not here very comfortable porch seating we were giving water which I always appreciate . Had beers and cider this time along with charcuterie board then the wurst and kraut platter for my friend and I had the pimento burger. Limited menu but no frills. My burger was excellent I enjoy a well seasoned burger. We were full after our meals and walked around a bit to check out the property. It's about a 45 minute drive from Va but well worth it for a change a pace. Sort of a German themed menu.

Tasting room perfectly decorated ambiance uplifting relaxing fresh clean refreshing Wines all delicious white, red, semi-sweet, dry Food served HOT right off the grill perfectly prepared presentation awesome Wife had ham apple Brie panini My meal roaring burger with Swiss cheese and all the fixings. Sandwiches require two hands to hold them while you take that first bite. And that's after it's been cut in half. No short cuts taken in preparation. The French fries hot crisp perfectly cooked. Not soggy cold or greasy The meal 100% delicious and my tummy says ohhhh yaaah now that was GOOD! Service staff pleasant smiles cheerful quick customer friendly. I would like to give it a five star review but if you give an establishment 5 stars that means everything was perfect no room for improvement. The fault in the stars tonight was due to Covid they have down sized their menu and currently only serving lunch menu till 4:45. No dinner menu . I was really looking forward to ordering the rib eye and scallops plus the bacon Brussel sprouts. Ok well maybe next time. I challenge anyone in a 50 mile radius to check out this establishment you won't be disappointed.

I visited Chez Joséphine as my final stop on a self directed wine tour of NC wineries in the Ronda area. To start, Chez Joséphine has the best view of this "Roaring Creek" where a porch and dining tables are located. You can't just create this atmosphere! This is such a relaxing place to enjoy a fabulous meal and a glass of wine after tastings though out the day. When I visited, they had a wine tasting menu with approximately 10 wines. Whites and reds, tasting begins with the whites of course. The owner of the vineyard and restaurant did the tasting, explained the wines and answered questions. I highly recommend a visit here on your NC wine tour. Have lunch or dinner and enjoy the wine and the view! Meet the owner and learn about the wine and land! You will be happy you did!

Took a little weekend getaway in Traphill. Luckily this restaurant/vineyard was just a few minutes away from our vacation rental. Great atmosphere sitting right on the Roaring River. Friendly staff and the owner came and checked on us. Food was great and the draft beer was great too. I'm sure the wine is great too. They have vacation rentals as well and an event space which the owner let us check out. Definitely worth a try!

Food was really good and the wine was great as well! The outdoor deck overlooks the river and it's absolutely stunning. Seating appears to be fairly limited so if you're concerned they may be busy, you might want to call in advance. Hopefully we will be back someday!

They have probably the best French Onion soup (Gratinèe Soupe à l'Oignon) I have ever tasted, I loved that the bread maintained a slight crispness around the edges even though the soup was perfectly cooked and the bread absorbed it well. I had the Filet Mignon de Porc as my entree, and the pork was cooked just right, it was so tender and juicy, with a nice peppery crust and smoky (but not overwhelming) flavor. My wife had the Steak Frites, which was very tender and cooked perfectly. I would tell you about the dessert, but we were too full and satisfied to even try one. The atmosphere is nice, not maybe quite as private as some restaurants, but the ambient noise is light and feels more private than the layout would suggest. The lighting is dim but not so dark that you can't see just fine. All around it was perfect for our anniversary dinner. Peyton was our waitress, and I cannot say enough good things about the job she did! She was attentive and very warm and friendly, not sugary sweet in the way some people do that comes off as cloying or insincere, but rather conversational and pleasant. I don't know how much they pay Peyton, but it isn't enough. All around, the whole experience made for a delightful meal and experience! And our previous experience there was just as good, so I recommend it very highly!!

Truffle fries, not really French but a must , usually nice and it when I get them here but today they were just a bit sad as it seemed they had been sitting for a bit. Anyway I'm just going to put that to the side and give them a chance to correct that next time. Then the French onion soup which was I have to say perfection! The pull on the cheese was on point. The broth so flavorful . Steaming hot on this one . The escargot. Yes another must here. Always decadent . Buttery and garlicky . Awesome. The mushroom risotto. Yes I know not french but they do it so well here. Rich and creamy and perfectly cooked where it's not mushy, different kinds of mushrooms and I love they add peas. Perfect comfort food. Service was excellent and with a smile. Ambiance always classy and we watched a little World Cup too. Katherine is my goto for classic food and a great bar. One of the best in Winston.

We started with the blueberry THC Yum Yum, which was so good! Light, fruity, and really refreshing. The Caesar salad with Parmesan and focaccia croutons... need I say more?! So good. The tuna crudo was incredibly fresh, and my salmon was delicious. The mustard sauce had a nice sweetness to it, and the corn purée paired perfectly with the vegetables. In my husband's words, his scallop dish was a 10/10. I didn't try the scallops, but I loved the succotash! It was corn-heavy with bacon, white kidney beans, and a few other things I couldn't quite identify, but everything worked so well together. We finished with the apple hand pies served with vanilla ice cream -- definitely recommend saving room for dessert! Another great meal at Sage & Salt! Ricky and Jeremy behind the bar are fabulous!!!

We started with the beet salad and calamari. The beet salad was nice. It was tossed in the vinaigrette and had two different types of beets. The calamari was fried well and was a good portion. The filet was cooked medium and sitting in Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. The Brussel sprouts were expertly prepared and tasted amazing with the bite of filet and mashed potatoes. The Grilled Chicken Orecchiette was flavorful and tasty. I think the noddles were a bit strange for this dish. The meal tasted great and the noodles were cooked well but I just wasn't sure if I would have chose these noodles to go with this dish. The restaurant was backed though so people do seem to like it.
