I got a statement on 7/27/2026 stating I had a $30 balance on the account because of interest charged. When I inquired with the credit card company, I was told it was on "promotional balances" and that the tires I bought must not be considered a promotional balance. What a scam! I paid the $30 and closed my account. I will never deal with Discount Tire again because of this. That's just shady. Buyer Beware -- My Experience With This Tire Company…read more I'm sharing my experience so other customers, especially first-time or younger buyers, know to carefully document everything when purchasing tires and dealing with a warranty. In July 2025, I took my son, who is in his early 20s, to this store for 50,000-mile tires. His vehicle had approximately 31,000 miles. By October, the tires were showing significant wear. My son rotated the tires himself. In January 2026, with approximately 43,000 miles on the vehicle, the tires were wearing extremely badly and the vehicle had developed a shake. He returned to the NTB location in Salem. The tires were rotated and he was sold an alignment. By April 2026, the tires had deteriorated even further. One tire developed a broken belt and had to be replaced. The technician, Matt, documented warranty information and sold my son an additional $16 warranty. We were subsequently told the warranty would be determined by tread depth rather than mileage, and because a new tire had just been installed, the newest tire would be used to determine eligibility. The April invoice also did not document the vehicle mileage. By August 2026, the vehicle had approximately 53,000 miles -- only about 22,000 miles after the original 50,000-mile tires were installed -- yet the remaining tires had experienced extreme wear. At that point, I personally became involved. We went to the store and spoke with Michael. He told us that the employees involved previously had given my son incorrect information and were essentially trying to avoid doing the work. While I appreciated that acknowledgment, my son was understandably frustrated by the experience. Two days later, I personally returned to the store, ordered a new set of tires, and asked that the warranty be honored. I was told the exact price could not be determined until the warranty department reviewed the situation. On Monday, after four separate calls with corporate customer service and Holly, the manager handling the warranty, we were offered a 50% goodwill credit toward the original cost of the three remaining tires, applied toward another set of tires. However, we were also required to pay for another alignment, and our military discount would not be available. What bothers me most is that there were multiple opportunities to address the problem earlier. The abnormal tire wear and shaking were reported in January. Instead of resolving the issue then, we went through months of additional problems. Good customer service is doing the right thing when a customer has a legitimate problem -- especially when dealing with a young customer who may not understand every detail of a warranty. My recommendation to anyone buying tires here: document the mileage on every visit, keep every invoice, read the warranty carefully, and get all warranty-related explanations in writing. And they have to rotate your tires every 5,000 miles.

We brought our car in for a brake issue. While working on the brakes, they told us it needed a steering repair and new tires. We picked up the car and scheduled a time for the steering repair. The repair was supposed to take a coupls of days, they had the car for several weeks. I left a message for them to quote me tires while they had it, so we could possibly get they done while it was there. There seems to have been a change in front desk staff, the previous guy was also super friendly and helpful. The new person acts like he's miserable every time you call. He stated he didn't get my message but could work up a quote for tires. I didn't get the quote until I called to pay for the steering repair. We found cheaper tires somewhere else, had them delivered to the shop and scheduled a third visit in a month. The front desk person told us to bring it back the following Monday at 11 and they would put the tires on. While I was on the pone with him I told him the brake light has been on ever since they fixed the brakes, the power washing fluid container has also been leaking since they repared the steering. My husband took it in at 11, as requested and was told they thought we were going to drop it off. The front desk guy went to the back and talk to the garage staff, my husband could hear him cursing and complaining about us bringing the car in and not dropping it off. Then, my husband mentioned the brake light and he said we'd have to make another appointment. Our car has been in the garage for nearly a month and still is not completely fix. Every time we call to ask a questions, the guy at the front desk has an attitude of he doesn't want to speack to anyone, and our questions are not answered. I have never experienced this at this garage, but it is enough that we are considering a new gagrage.

Well to cut it short, it cost me another $98.71 to have them fix the brake lights that they caused the problem with them to begin with. I would not recommend them too anyone.
