This company cannot be trusted to ship freight from point A to point B without royally screwing it up. A vendor chose to use this shipper and our products were held up well past the stated delivery time frame. Furthermore, I was given conflicting and obviously made-up information regarding the nature of the delay. One person would tell me that the driver was running behind and could not be in town on time, only to have the shipment arrive that night after all, with no explanation for the conflicting info. Additionally, phone support is lacking. Several times when trying to call, nobody actually picked up the phone. Other times, I got through to someone, who asked for all my information, only to tell me I need customer service and transfer me immediately. At that point, endless waiting on hold and several times I gave up and hung up. When I gave that feedback on subsequent calls, the switchboard was neither surprised nor apologetic. Class act huh? Furthermore, and most concerning, is the fact that they cannot deliver your freight without skewering it with a forklift. As the saying goes, pics or it didn't happen, yes? Well, I've attached plenty, judge for yourself. Their name is literally written all over it. I have confirmation that it arrived at the terminal in this condition when the Roadrunner folks handed it over for local delivery, so the blame is squarely on their shoulders. Bought garage cabinets from Costco. They decided to ship through Roadrunner freight. It was supposed to be shipped in a week, and delivered a week after that. First they send a wrong tracking number. The tracking number provided was for a product shipped 3 years ago. Second, when I do call them, I am always 50-80 customers away from being heard. When I do get through, they are unhelpful, rude tone, and incompetent. We are a over a week late from their declared delivery date, with no calls from them, no rescheduling emails, no communication of any kind, and when I call and wait, they just say they will call me when they are ready. They do not let you know they are going to pick up other passengers. They dropped me off at a appointment then left me there. I had to wait over an hour and a half for them to return, because I had to work I ended up paying for transportation from a stranger to get back to my hometown which was three and a half hours away. The next time that they came to pick me up on the way back, even though I had to work, I was sleeping and woke up to find us in another county attempting to pick up another passenger, who I was never informed of. A little communication goes a long way!!!! I could have contacted my place of employment to let them know that I wasn't going to be able to make it on time. I mean common courtesy. Now today, I was supposed to have an appointment at the dentist state scheduled them to ride with and no one informed me that they had canceled! Our company paid roadrunner to transport 4 pallets of freight. They delivered 2 of the 4 and lost the high value items. (Go Figure.) Everything was fine with the claim until they heard the cost of the items that we had tendered. (Expensive.) Then it was like going up against a brick wall. Hired an attorney to write a letter and they have basically blown him off as well. They will not respond. Apparently the only way to get anywhere with this company is to sue them in a court of law. Everyone knows how expensive that is. At the end of the day....we just want our lost freight or the ability to replace it. We are out well over $10,000.00 They might be good on the front end to move your freight, but if something goes wrong....good luck with that...... read more

In my 11 years of moving freight, this company takes the cake for being the worst I have dealt with. In the past 3 weeks we have had two incidents that have left me never wanting to use Roadrunner again. 1) Stolen Freight : That's right. Our goods were blatantly stolen. On the bottom middle of one our skids was a opened and resealed box. The box had the contents removed and replaced with some padding so the box would retain its shape. It was apparent one of the crews on Roadrunners dock had their eye on our merchandise and felt like taking it home with them. We have filed a claim and two months later, they still have not accepted fault on the claim. I don't think we will ever see our money from them. 2) We shipped a shipment that was a 4 day lane. It took Roadrunner 8 days to get it there. We called them multiple times to find out where our goods were. They claimed they could not reach the truck driver and we would have to wait for our goods to arrive late. Unfortunately, we needed the goods on a certain date and since the goods arrived late, they did us no good. So we told them they to return the goods to us at their expense since they arrived extremely late. Not only did they refuse to do so, they said the rate to return the goods to us was double what we paid to ship them there. That's right, they penalized us for their own late delivery. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a common act they pull. Thinking about it, I would not have been that upset if they would have just apologized or said they messed up. But during the multiple phone calls, they did not apologize once for screwing up our shipment. Unless you'd rather gamble with your goods, I do not recommend using Roadrunner. read more

Do not use these services. Road runner completely destroyed all of the stuff we had shipped with them and then their settlement with us was $.10 for every pound we shipped. They are supposedly giving me $250 for 2500lbs work of stuff. If my stuff was worth 10 cents per pound, i wouldn't have shipped them. Also, it has been 4 months since they said they would send a $250 check. When i asked today when the check will be sent out, they said that they don't know and can't tell me that. I wish i just paid up and got a better transporter. YOU DO NOT WANT TO USE ROAD RUNNER. BTW, this is the first Yelp review i have ever posted. I usually don't complain online. We placed an order through FreightCenter for freight to be shipped on 3/27/18. It was picked up by Roadrunner on the 29th. On the 31st I called to get tracking information and was told it would be delivered on the 9th of April, which I thought was a long time but there was nothing I could do. It is now April 12th and we still don't have our shipment. I have been on the phone for the past 4 days with them and EVERY single time I call I get incorrect information (LIES) about why it was delayed and where it actually was. I have had business dealings with many trucking companies over the years being in the furniture business and Roadrunner Transportation Services is the absolute worse company to do business with. I have been trying to get a claim paid since December of last year. I was shipping two leather chairs to Florida and the chairs were lost...STOLEN and Roadrunner will take no responsibility and blame their partner carrier who are only willing to pay 840.00 of the 1697.88 claim. If I could give no starts I would. A lost shipment took two months to turn up. Could not recover any shipping for my customer. Subverted claim after it was declared lost and signed off as lost in the claim. That closed the claim, but just as the check was to be written it turned up and they delivered out of contract. Zero recourse available to me or my customer. A second case of clear damage documented on both shipping and receiving ends is denied twice. Even with images of product as packed and un-crated. This company will deny claims flat out, or if they are cornered into a pay out it will be pennies on the dollars that you had lost or damaged regardless of insurance. Don't chance it. read more

We had a package delivered to Seattle WA from ?Sumner WA recently. Our experience with this company is terrible. The "scheduler" was rude and basically threatened to charge me storage fees if I couldn't be around to receive the package from 10am to 3pm within the next 3 days (sure, I'll just take a whole day off from work to wait around). She finally relented and gave me 7 days - but "no more.". The "dispatch" person was also useless from a customer service standpoint; he could not provide a more narrow window of delivery - even after the truck was packed with it's 10 deliveries for the day ("since the drivers can change their route at any time"). The driver showed up late of course, at 3:10, after making me wait for 5 hours. He was upset that he had to drive up my alley way (my street was closed for construction for part of the day). "We're curbside delivery only". Well, maybe someone from the company should have told me so! Anyway, the driver arrived in a beat up truck full of hundreds of scratches and dents, but yelled at me because the alleyway is narrow and he was going to hit some of the overhanging branches (like that's only happened a thousand times so far to him). For the record, our alleyway is a piece of cake to drive into; large delivery trucks to it all the time (roofing companies, lumber delivery trucks, etc). My opinion is that the driver just isn't a good driver; it's not that hard. The only positive is that the package was not damaged - a small miracle given the state of this company. I would rather have paid for shipping and had it delivered when and where I wanted it. read more

I'm going to keep this quick and simple. This company stacked my pallet which caused 416 dollars worth of damage. They were late with getting me my pallets as well. I filed a claim with the company which took 65 days just to get an email declining my claim. I told them I had pictures and video to prove it was their fault. They never asked for any of it. They already knew the result long before I filed the claim. How a company can be this terrible and still stay in business is beyond me. Please don't look at my as just an upset person trying to get back at a terrible company but just take 5 minutes and do some research on this company. If we could leave a negative five star review, we would. On October 9th, 2015 we shipped out one of our lovely Cedar Bars to a customer in California. We purchased a 2-day delivery on October 6th from a third-party shipping company (freightcenter.com) and then called Roadrunner's Headquarters in Wisconsin on the 8th to confirm it would be delivered the 13th as needed. We dropped the crate off at the terminal in Portland, Oregon on the 9th, and expected everything to go as planned. On the 14th we received a call from our customer that it had not arrived. We immediately contacted our Freight Rep who said they could confirm it had arrived at the terminal on the 13th at 12:24am, but didn't know why it hadn't been delivered to the customer. They said they would make sure it got to them by the end of the day. On Thursday the 15th we contacted our customer to make sure it had arrived as promised, only to find out it had not. We then contacted our freight rep again who said she would contact the terminal in Livermore, California where it was at and find out what was going on. At 12:51pm she contacted us and said that someone at the terminal in Seattle put it on hold, and that it was in Seattle (the complete opposite of what we had been told). Our customer was supposed to have had their item two days prior, and now we're being told its two states north of them. After several hours on the phone, our rep told us they were sending a courier to Seattle to pick it up and deliver it by 12pm noon on Friday, the 16th. Our customer's event was Saturday, set up for their event was supposed to be Friday - now our customer was inconvenienced yet again. At 10:22am 10-16-2015 We contacted our rep again to confirm the delivery was being made. No answer. We contact them twice leaving voice mails both times. We ended up getting in touch with their superior, and their superior's superior and found out our rep had left for the day. So now we had to deal with new people who had been well-informed by our rep what was going on before she left. At 12:36pm we were informed that the shipment wasn't in Livermore, California - but indeed in Seattle. So we called Seattle's terminal and they had NO idea what we were talking about. We turned around and called Livermore's terminal and had someone go out on the dock and find it... It WAS there where it was supposed to be, and we were able to confirm over the phone with the terminal's supervisor that he was actually looking at it. It had arrived three days prior, and had sat dormant for three days. At 5:45pm we were informed that there was no way they were going to get it to our customer by Saturday, and that they would deliver it Monday (two days after their event). We informed them we were renting a vehicle and driving all night to pick it up and deliver it ourselves so our customer had it in time. They (our rep's supervisor's supervisor) told us they would take care of the costs. At 6:26pm we picked up our vehicle and drove all night to the terminal. When we arrived at 9:30am 10-17-2015, we discovered that the item had been damaged. We picked it up, drove to the nearest lumber store and purchased the items we needed to repair it. At 12:31pm we arrived at our customer's event location and repaired the damage in front of them - humiliating! We left Sacramento, California at 2:12pm, arriving back at the shop at 1:30am, 10-18. We returned our rental vehicle by 6pm. On Monday, October 19th we contacted our rep who said there was nothing they could do about it, and to file a claim. On 10-23-2015 our claim for the total amount (including all receipts) and two days of missed work was accepted, and we were told it could take 60 days to hear back. On January 7th, 2016 we received an email with a word document attached that read, "Claim Denied"... and the reason for their denial? They claim it WAS delivered, and in "satisfactory time"... Having read the above (a lot was left out for clarity) you can understand our frustration. Not only was it NOT delivered, and NOT in satisfactory time, but it was very apparent that they did not read our four page report with line-by-line details as to what happened. They did NOT deliver it. WE did. We have made multiple attempts to contact them and have not heard back. We've asked what to do to appeal, and have had no phone calls or emails returned. read more

Roadrunner Transportation Services are by far the worst excuse for a shipper that we have seen in 34 years. The Shipper Special Instructions clearly stated that there was to be a three hour delivery window and the ONLY person authorized to inspect and accept the delivery was to be notified within thirty minutes of delivery so he could be on location at an unmanned storage facility to inspect and accept the delivery. Neither of these instructions were followed. 2.) The Shipper Special Instructions also stated a pallet jack would be provided. It was not provided. With regards to the condition of the items delivered: 1.) The binding straps on the pallet had been removed 2.) The custom pallet on which the items were shipped on had been stolen and it was replaced by a 48-inch pallet which was half the size needed to support the 85-inch boxes. It will need to be replaced. Below is a written statement from the parts supplier from which the pallet was shipped. "Very disappointing to see the condition of your delivered items. Please be aware that the prep and packaging of your materials looked nothing like the attached photos when the pallets left our facility. I have attached a couple photos that detail that a full length custom pallet is constructed to fully support the length of the products/cartons. Multilayer banding is applied to the cartons to secure the cartons to the pallet. The pallet that was delivered to you is not our original custom pallet. Corner protection is also applied in this step. Also, we place the notification not to stack on top of your order in multiple locations on the top of the pallet. We take great pride in our packaging and again are extremely disappointed about this delivery". 3.) The boxes in which the parts had been shipped are custom made 85-inch boxes. These all had to be replaced because: A. They were bent from not being supported by an undersized pallet B. The boxes were damp C. Some of the boxes have visual footprints on them D. Several were crushed and/or ripped open with the product hanging out E. The boxes were unstackable do to damage incurred F. The shipment was dumped in the parking lot and was supposedly signed off by an un- authorized person who works for the company who rents the storage space. No proof of delivery was provided. We filed a claim with Roadrunner which Roadrunner refuses to accept responsibility for. Before and after pictures have been attached to verify everything described in this review. Hi, I represent ContemporaryFurnitureCenter.com I have used RoadRunner Transportation Systems to deliver sofa set to my client. I can understand that "things happen", but attitude off the company is wrong and I decided to post this review so other companies will know ahead of time what to expect. My order was confirmed with delivery on Dec 26, 2017. Furniture was lost and damaged during the shipment. Finally damaged furniture landed at my client home on January 16th 2018. Today will be 3 months from the delivery day and Roadrunner declined my claim knowing the facts and having images of damaged pieces and supporting claim documentation. They had no interest to cover shipment of the replacement pieces due to they policy where they will wait 120 days to respond to any claim. I believe that they forgot that they need to keep clients happy. Today we decided to proceed with a court case. read more

We had Roadrunner take 5 skids of slot (20) machines to our client, South Florida to Oklahoma. First problem, it took 3 days longer than the had quoted us. Not the worst thing to happen, but then our client notifies us that every single pallet had multiple machines with damages. 20 machines in the shipment, with FOURTEEN showing damages. We have been selling and shipping these machines for over 10 years, they were well palletized, padded & shrink wrapped, with signs saying FRAGILE and DO NOT DOUBLE STACK. Evidenced by the damage, they ignored both (simple) instructions. Their system for reporting and claiming damages makes it very obvious they don't care, you cannot get a human being on the phone, everything is on a PDF form (that you cannot save) that has to be printed and snail MAILED IN with your documentation. And I was informed by the booking agent, on the rare occassion when they take responsiblity, they pay pennies against the SCRAP WEIGHT OF LOAD, with no consideration of its value. This company was sent to us to ship a race kart to Florida! Three weeks later we get an additional bill for twice as much as what we already paid for because the item was over the weight they quoted us. They weight the item before it was taken and I do not understand how it all of a sudden ended up being almost double the original weight! So now, I have try my luck at getting my money back. I recommend anyone who uses this company use a prepaid visa so they can not steal your money!!! I do not know what happens to the container after it leaves me, they could have added additional weight to the product to get more money! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! HORRIBLE COMPANY!! If I could give less than zero stars I would. Do not use them if you want your shipment to arrive intact. Zero customer service. They simply do not care. My shipment arrived with "concealed damage" according to the incredibly unprofessional person in the damage claim department. When the crate was opened, after the driver had already taken off like a bat out of Hell, we found our product totally shattered. The driver refused to wait to let us inspect our delivery. He must have heard the broken glass moving around upon unloading! I immediately called Roadrunner and had a form sent to file a damage claim. It required receipts for all costs. Claim form states that failure to document damage and all receipts will result in claim being denied. NO, just filing a claim will result in it being declined, regardless of what you send them. I had to find and schedule someone who would totally uncrate and remove a huge amount of broken glass and dispose of it. Then schedule someone to measure and replace mirror which was so large that it had to be ordered and took over three weeks to get. I then had to wait for arrival and then schedule installation (another week) to get receipt to turn in. All of this took time. Job finally completed and I finally have all receipts needed to send in with claim form. I'm thinking wow a lot of time, money, and aggravation but worth it because I have all documents in order and will be reimbursed. WRONG! Claim declined because it took too long to file! After an incredibly futile and circular conversation with a totally rude, uncaring, unprofessional person in claims about the time I needed in order to gather all required documentation, I decided to hopefully try to save anyone else from having a similarly painful experience. They kept giving me the run-around, until my shipment arrived at 3:45pm (almost 4 hours outside of the 4 hour timeframe they initially gave me). Have a critical shipment of Generators from Generac in Wisconsin to Pennsylvania. picked up 5.29 am Weds morning10/31 freight moved to Milwaukee 20 miles away sat there all day, then they shipped it to a Terminal in Bollinbrook Ill and now saturday 11-03-2012 it is listed on their web site (tracking) as ready for dispatch. 4 days and it is still not any closer to Pennsylvania. Had another shipment shipped via USF Holland from Generac on November 1st and it will be delivered to me on Monday. They TOTALLY SUCK. They doen't deliver anything they just drop off at their terminals across the country and transfer to other truckers for final delivery days late. read more

Terrible company. Beyond awful customer service. We had two pallets of flooring delivered to us. We paid extra to have it delivered to our residence with a liftgate truck. When the freight got to San Diego, I was told it wouldn't fit on their liftgate and I'd either have to hire four men to offload the truck manually or come and get it myself at their warehouse on the Mexican border. Some choice, huh? To top it all off, when the wood arrived, the driver then sat in the shade watching, even though I'd been told he would assist. Calls to customer service went unanswered. I work for a partner company and unload many of Roadrunner's trailers. The way they disregard "Do Not Stack" labels and the number of broken down pallets that we have to rebuild is appalling. I feel bad for the customers that receive freight that has been touched by Roadrunner. We try our best to take good care of it, but there's only so much one can do with damaged freight. Find any other company to ship your freight. Honestly, a man with a pickup and a tarp would be a better option than letting Roadrunner handle your freight. read more

Without a doubt, the WORST customer service we have EVER experienced with ANY freight company. We currently have a claim open with them for lost merchandise exceeding $1K in value, and have yet to be able to connect with our assigned claims analyst after 125 days. We have spoken to several of claims analysts in an attempt to resolve this open claim from late August 2014. Each experience with members of the Roadrunner team in an attempt to bring this claim to resolution has been unhelpful at best, and rude/dismissive at worst. We first mailed in our claim in August per the instructions on their website. We contacted their claims team 2 weeks later and they told us, "Mailed in claims aren't great for us, they get lost and not entered in on a regular basis. Please scan and fax it to us". So we provided that information the same day. Originally when placing our claim, we followed each step instructed to us by their staff in an attempt to follow their processes and policies. Before ending each conversation/claim request, we have asked every time if there was anything else needed to facilitate this claim, and each time we have been told "No" and that we would just need to wait the 120 days for the claim to be investigated/processed, and their team would attempt to locate the package. The last time we contacted their team on November 21st we were told there was nothing else we needed to do. When we called in On January 11th, (the 120 day claim mark) we learned that the same day we called in November they mailed a proof of "did not receive" document to our recipient/customer. We were not made aware of this document. nor were we given the option to give them an email address to send it to the recipient. They simply dropped it in the mail. The recipient has told us they never received it. Their claims department openly admits that the mail process at Roadrunner is broken, yet they chose this broken process to send a document to the recipient, clearly relying on the process to be broken and extend their time to delay closing the claim. After we brought this open issue to their attention, they emailed the document to our recipient/customer a couple of days ago and 30 minutes later he faxed and emailed it back to them. This step could have been resolved in November and our claim paid few days ago. Because their team neglected to inform us of this step in the process in November, we have now been instructed to wait for AN ADDITIONAL 30 DAY WAITING PERIOD for the claim to be re-evaluated. At this point, our claim will now be open for 150 days. Recently when attempting to close this claim: We spoke to one of their analysts (Tiffany), who outwardly refused to give us the ability to contact our assigned claim analyst (Andrea) directly via her office extension and additionally refused to CC us on an email to our claims analyst so we could be informed of where we are in the process of this claim. Tiffany also said that she was sure that Andrea wouldn't have received the fax or email sent to her by our recipient/customer. How is this possible? Email is instantaneous. We were CC'd on the recipients email to their company and we received it with no problems. Again, obvious blocking tactic in play. The call with Tiffany had been the rudest service we have received to date and among the most transparent road blocks to providing resolution to this open claim. It is all but blatantly apparent that their claims agents are instructed to make it as difficult as possible to get a claim closed. The only logic I can attribute to this tactic is that instruction likely comes from management who are motivated to hold on to our money for as long as possible, so Roadrunner Transportation can earn float on the interest. **** UPDATE **** It has now been 5 days since we learned of needing to provide written confirmation from our recipient, which we had immediately provided that day. We have called every day since this was brought to our attention attempting to confirm they received this document, and each time we have not been able to connect with our assigned analyst, Andrea. Her answering machine says she will be out of the office until January 5th. It is now January 16th. Neglecting to assist in closing this claim and avoiding our calls at this point is borderline criminal. Stay away from using their services!. They have damaged my products and instead of notifying me they just kept it in their warehouse until my client contacted me asking about the product. They did not want to deliver the damaged so they figured maybe my client and I will forget about it.... why else they would not notify me about the problem. After I filed a claim, I received an email that my claim will be processed within 90 days but may take 120 days. Well it has been almost 120 days and of course I still have not received any refund or update. When I email them ( every few weeks) about the update, I get the same meaningless response that it is being processed. There is no name , no phone number, no contact information fro Roadrunner Claim Department besides the general claims@rrts.com email address. That is one very professional company. I cannot believe they even manage to stay in business, they have by far the worst customer service in the industry. I WILL NEVER EVER USE THEM AGAIN. read more

I have just had the worst experience with RoadRunner Auto Transport. I was looking to ship my car from Illinois to Florida and filled out the "online" Booking information. I gave my credit card number for the deposit. 3 days later, I get a call from Melissa in their NY office, saying that the quote that was given to me was incorrect and that the new "quote" would be $200.00 more. She could not "guarantee" me that new rate as she said that it is up to the driver if he would accept my bid. She said that if my bid was not accepted by a driver, then my car would not get shipped unless I increased my bid. My car would sit in Illinois until I raised the bid enough to get a driver to want to move my vehicle. WHAT???? That is absurd!!! Why would anyone do business like that. It certainly seems to me that something else is going on here. Then she tells me that for the return transport from Florida back to Illinois, the price "should" be "around" the same amount and that she doesn't think it "should be a problem" getting the car moved for "around" that price. REALLY??? That is crazy. I understand that the car transport business is a Broker business, but that is not a good way to do business. I would like to know that when I book my car to be transported, it gets transported to my destination within a reasonable amount of time for the agreed upon price. I don't buy a mattress and the store tell me that when they deliver it, it will be more expensive!! This company BAD, BAD, BAD NEWS!!! Stay away!!! read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. They are absolutely the WORST company that I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Their customer service is a JOKE. They were supposed to deliver our package 4 days ago and have not delivered it. Their first excuse is that they were moving their Dallas Texas offices so they left our package on the truck over the weekend. Their next excuse is that they delivered it to Vocar Transportation and they didn't deliver it because the did not have room in their truck. I would not recommend this company to anyone for any reason. I just hope that someone at a higher level at Lowe's reads this and cancels their contract with this worthless company. read more

Wow..not up front with delivery dates, extremely long waits on the phone for customer service and then they just dismiss poor service with it is what it is attitude. read more
