If a suit comes without a hem then I don't think you ought to charge someone to finish sewing it. Yet, like most people in Halifax, I can't always afford the exuberant prices of exclusive brands carried by stores like Duggers. The Suitor was the best of both worlds. I was able to find the modern look and style I was looking for, and the pricing was perfect! The store is owned and operated by a Master Tailor who provides custom fittings for anything you buy. I bought a Calvin Klein suit with a french-cuffed Sean John shirt. I didn't like how the shirt looked on me and wanted a more 'slim fit' look. He took my measurements and custom-fitted the shirt within 24 hours. This little hidden gem of a store works mainly on word of mouth and has been for several years now. They can custom make a suit for you in any style you desire. Regardless of your body type, if you like the look of a particular luxury brand (like a Hugo, Canali, or Zegna suit), bring a picture and they'll make a suit for you just like it... but for a fraction of the price!

The saleslady assisting us was very nice and patient. Adam must've tried on at least 2-3 different shirts and more than 5 ties. She was also nice enough to steam the shirt before wrapping it up. They have this cool policy in the store where you can try to put a hole in one mini golf style for $95 off a tie for $2 (and the money goes to charity!). Sadly, both Adam and I missed. But I enjoyed playing a lot! Mini put inside a store! I was surprised no one snubbed us as we did look very ordinary. I think once Adam specifically asked to try on a shirt, they loosened up and realized we were going to buy something. That's when they got friendlier and offered us drinks. But I really only liked the lady who helped us, the rest seemed unbothered and lazy.

So when the 5 (that's right 5) cops came i explained to them that the staff removed all tags from the clothes. I didn't touch them but that is the excuse the owner used so I couldn't get my money back!! GIANT RIPP OFF. Phinneys SUCK and the owner is being dishonest by having his staff take the tags so NO ONE can get any refunds or store credit. See you in court you jerk!!

Two levels - girls on the first floor, guys clothing on the second. They have a large record section upstairs with the guys clothing. The housewares is a little sparse (also upstairs) which is disappointing because that's some of my favourite stuff UO sells. It might be a little smaller than other UO you've been into, but since it's downtown on Barrington I think they were able to scored a large feeling retail space. Today was opening day so the staff was really friendly, and a little chaotic, but that's understandable. I'm sure in a couple weeks it will clam down.
