THE BEST WAY TO CONTACT HIM IS TEXT MESSAGE. You really need to give it up to Nick and all his shop. He's extremely hard working and he is a one-man-show. I know it can be difficult to get a hold of him but once you understand how he works it all makes sense. He's not going to pick up a phone call and he won't respond back too text right away because he's working with his hands. That means he's spending the same quality time with your parts when it's your turn. I am building out a new BBK and wanted to overhaul the entire thing. I've called around and they shops will nickle and dime you for every part of the service. Everything costs extra. Nick has one set price and it's very reasonable (it's CHEAPER than places I've called). He cleaned, media blasted, power coated, applied stickers, clear coated and rebuilt all of my calipers. I just provided him the rebuild seal kit. He was very realistic about his time frame and delivered on schedule. It was less than two weeks. He does a full time job and does his own business after. Wow, excellent work and pricing! Cliff Notes: chill guy who does quality work, for an excellent price! You. Get your powdercoating done...here. Called in to get my Subaru wheels done--each of them had some measure of curb rash when I bought them. Felt like I wanted a different color and after reaching out to Nick, he advised me to check out his Facebook page for an idea of the colors. He had a very good variety of the different colors there and I narrowed it down to Satin Black or Auto Charcoal. When I was ready, I arranged a time to stop by the shop to drop off the wheels. Once there he greeted me warmly and helped me bring my wheels in. After talking about a little more of what I wanted to do, he brought out his color "chits" (since the powdercoating examples on metal tabs just represent better than paper or plastic). Upon seeing the additional colors available, I actually jumped to Gunmetal. He let me know up front that the color I chose was low, and that I had to factor in extra time for him to order it in. But besides that, it would be a two week time to finish the wheels once the powder came in. Lo and behold, exactly to the time that we discussed, Nick texted me and let me know the wheels were done! Stopped by and am thoroughly impressed with the quality and color. Friendly, professional and definitely open to my questions. Patient while I consulted with him too. After Nick did my fenders (see my main review below), I was so happy with the no-cracks, no paint issues roll he did, I swore I'd have him powder coat a set of wheels for me! I brought the centers of my modular Volks to him recently and we discussed the color options. I had a very distinct desire for a particular color and he showed me samples (not a garden variety color chart that leaves you guessing; but actual powder coated pieces) After lengthy discussion on the merits and de-merits of particular colors, I selected one and left them with him. "How long?" I asked. Nick replied "10 days." 10 days later, I got a text from him saying they were ready. That kind of customer management always impresses me! Picked up today. Wow! Perfect color, excellent application, and an overall happy customer especially at the reasonable price he charged me. I got some new wheels, and needed to have my fenders rolled. I went with Nick at RMS as he has a good reputation on some of the forums I visit. I made an appointment, and was in the garage 5 min prior to my appointment time. After some evaluation, Nick recommended I needed a pull. He proceeded and test fitted. Came out awesome. Recently installed my coilovers on my lude and by rear tires were rubbing my fenders even and it's highest height! Got Mike's number from a friend, called him and he gave me a good price quote and my friend said he does good work so I decided to bring my car here. Shops right off of Warm Springs in Fremont. After about 40 minutes my entire car was done, drove out and no rubbing! & I can lower it more after I get it cambered. I also seen that they do powder coating on wheels, they seem to do a good job on that as well. He also does wheel repairs (curb rash, etc.) If I ever need anything again I'll be sure to call Mike & recommend him to my friends! read more

Let me tell you something about Nick... this dude's customer service is phenomenal! I was in a dire need of a fender roll (cheap and fast btw). We ran into an issue with my wheels being stuck unto the lug nuts of my spacers. In all honesty, I thought Nick was going to tell me to go home and remove it myself, BUT, he did not. With some elbow grease, he and I (mainly him) were able to remove my wheels prior to the rolling. He gave me tips on what to do to prevent this issue from reoccurring. At the end, even with the issues we had, he still stuck with the same price he quoted me with (I thought he was going to charge extra). I ended giving him a tip for his hard work. FYI I do not know if I had to make an appointment, but I told him the situation I was in and he was able to fit me into, what I assume, his busy schedule! Definitely one of the better experiences I've had with a mechanic/automotive shop. I will be coming back here to get my curbrashes fixed and all 4 wheels powder coated! read more

This is long overdue. I purchased a used 2010 TSX and wanted to install an old set of Volk Gts rims. Nick helped me choose the correct tire size and coilover to purchase. Once everything was purchased and installed he did a great job rolling all four fenders. It was a very clean job he was able to slightly pull them without doing any damage to the paint. I think this business moved here recently from another location in Saratoga. Had to take my car in to have my front fenders rolled because like a dumbass the tires on the set of wheels I bought were too wide, which I didn't notice until I lowered the car and it started rubbing. Found RMS on craigslist, and called Nick to make sure he had the time to do this, and he did. Get to the shop and he has a mint set of British racing green colored powdercoated Borbets in the corner of the shop. I have to say I was impressed at the quality of the powdercoat. Took less than a half hour to do the front two fenders, and at $30 a fender the price is right. Fender and paint were completely intact. Roll out of the shop and drive the car a bit, and the rubbing is completely gone. Just to satisfy my curiosity I asked how much it would cost me to powdercoat my wheels (I think about doing so from time to time), and was quoted between $300 and $350 for a set of 18x8.5 wheels. Again the price is right, and by the looks of it the quality is as well. read more

I was looking to get a set of rims powder coated, so I turned to yelp. Based on all the great reviews, I decided to give RMS a call. Maybe it's an incorrect number, but I attempted to call twice and no one picked up. I figured they were busy, so no biggie. So I tried the next thing was to go onto their site, and click on the "Contact Us" link. I decided to just email them my question so they can get to it when they are free. I entered all the info needed to complete the email and submitted my questions. Well it has been 3 days and still no response? I'm sure these guys are great guys and do good work, but I guess I would never know considering I'm still waiting for a response. Maybe there's something wrong with their email system, who knows. But this 1 star is mainly for communication/customer service, not for service. Edited to 2 stars: They finally emailed me back after the 4th day. Better late than never I suppose. Do you love your car?! Seriously, real talk, no I meant wheel talk (see what I did thur?)! If yes, please keep reading, if not, why are you on yelp looking for good places to roll your fenders?! A couple questions you have to ask yourself: Do you want some random guy from craigslist who bought a fender roller and watched some videos on YouTube trying to make side money or do you want a guy dedicated enough to rent out a building making a real business out of it? Do you want to save a couple dollars using Mr. Youtube who has only rolled a handful of cars or do you want RMS which has experience rolling over a thousand cars of all makes and models?! Enough hype, here's the low down of my two visits to RMS: 1st visit: Went there without an appointment to get my fenders rolled. I didn't have my aftermarket rims mounted yet so I wasn't sure if I needed my fenders pulled so we just agreed to roll them for now. In well under an hour, my 21 year old car with 21 year old (and soft!) stage-3 pearl white paint had its fender rolled without a chip, dent, or any signs of damage. A couple months later, I got my rims mounted on the car and sadly they rubbed. 2nd visit: I made an appointment over the phone with RMS and he said he'll only charge me the difference as if he did it all once the first time. If that isn't the utmost courtesy & professionalism I don't know what is! If you truly love your ride, do yourself a favor and get your fenders taken care of at RMS! read more

But to my surprise when I got home to check out my fenders. There a a big paint crack under one of the fender -_- I guess its fine since no one gonna see if unless they poke their head to look under my fender. Nick took care of all the stripping of the factory paint, cleaned up some curb rash and powdercoating. Each wheel came out flawless. Nick really knows what he is doing and his prices are very competitive if not the lowest in the entire Bay Area. I dropped em off Tuesday at closing and had em back Friday afternoon, now that's fast!! Now about Nick: super chill laid back no bullshit kind of guy. No bait and switch none of that. But it also goes without saying that someone's personal opinion shouldn't ever be projected onto your own judgement. With that in mind, both my girlfriend and I needed to have our front fenders rolled and contacted Nick at RMS to see if he could help. We made an appointment to have both our cars taken care this past Saturday morning where Nick was already prepared to get both cars in and finished properly. Before we could even finish our discussion about where we wanted to go for breakfast, the fenders were rolled without any cracked paint to worry about to deal with afterward. WIN-WIN! I was just happy to have finally gotten my car done, but more importantly, my girlfriend was excited that she could finally put her wheels back on and not worry about having to wind her coilovers up so as to not eat up her fenders anymore. Just had my motorcycle tank powder coated and clear finished at RMS. Nick was great. He explained the process to me and made sure the tank had been sitting a week before working on it. He received several powder samples to match the color to my fairings. Unfortunately my fairings are dual colored two types of yellow and the left and right side fairing are the darker color than the fender I had given Nick to match. You can only tell up close though. Always go darker lol. The tank still came out looking wonderful. I paid about 1/4 of what the paint guys wanted. I left feeling I had spent money wisely and that Nick had done an excellent job on the tank with what I had provided him to complete the job. Will definitely recommend RMS to my other motorcycle friends and also to anyone looking for quality work on a budget. Also it should be noted that powder coating is FAR more durable than auto paint, especially when it comes to weathering. Make sure to get the clear coat on top on whatever you are having coated! read more

Nick is the most experienced person in the Bay Area when it comes to fender rolling. He has done thousands of cars using proprietary tools that he has developed over the years. In addition to providing great service, he is extremely knowledgable about wheels and suspension design. He can confidently answer your questions related to fitment and provide advice. I could not find any shops in the North Bay with the same level of experience as RMS, so I made the two hour drive to come here. Understandably, I was nervous that the reviews re: missed appointment times and being hard to reach would be accurate. Contacted Nick today and was able to get an appointment the same day. I had new wheels mounted in the morning and needed my rear fenders rolled to prevent rubbing from hard turns or a loaded back. Once I arrived, Nick went straight to work and finished both rear fenders in 30 minutes. My WRX hatch has silicone beading on the fender, so paint separated a bit on that section, but I came in knowing that. Zero damage to the paint on metal and no scratches on the new wheels.
