I called to get an estimate for a small job. I could buy replacements parts, but wanted to know the cost of getting them sandblasted and resurfaced. It turns out that the minimum service charge was close to replacement price, so I chose to buy instead of using Spray Technology. I had a great experience working with Fidel and Spray Technology. He called to give me a quote on refinishing six metal patio chairs and negotiated a reasonable pick up and delivery charge. He and his crew showed up on time for the pick up. Both were courteous and professional. He promised the six chairs would be ready in a week so I could have them by Thanksgiving. I was very excited to find a shop in the Bay Area that offered Vapor Honing (Vapor blasting) services. This method of media blasting uses ambient temp water with "#6 glass" media. The media is so fine it feels like baking soda. I learned this after but you're able to leave plastics and rubbers on and vapor honing does NOT damage the part. Since it's a non-abrasive process the parts come out clean and almost polished looking. I feel like the aluminum parts get the best shine. One of the shop guys showed me a steel manifold that was vapor honed and since the metal was harder it doesn't get the same shine but the parts still come out nice. I believe that this is also called "dustless blasting"... Since the media is carried by water, there is no risk of heating up or warping parts. I will definitely bring back more parts for them to take care of! read more

I asked Spray Technology to powder-coat my 2019 RAM 1500 chrome front bumper. Requested a custom job - leaving factory chrome finish on bottom center-portion of bumper and powder coating remainder (i.e., top and sides) matte black. The job was finished on-time and looks great. Mask line between chrome and black powder is sharp and clean. Very consistent coating on face of bumper and they even coated the inside of bumper as well. Price was great, as was service and turnaround. Highly recommend Spray Technology for powder-coating needs. We had a rustic looking wall decor and I was trying to see if the rust can be removed. Many places I went to said that it is actual rust and the sand blasting should help. When I brought the piece to Spray Technology, I came to get a quote for sand blasting. But Antonio looked at the piece and told me that it doesn't need sand blasting since the rust is a fake rust to make it look antique. So he showed me that just acetone and a piece of wipe cloth should remove the fake rust. I'm glad I came across someone honest as Antonio who helped me save money and time! Amazing Chad! read more

I had an antique bed frame that needing sand blasting/powder coating. The frame dated back to the 1890s so I was concerned about it not being damaged in the process. I also wanted to keep the cost reasonable. Antonio, the owner, was very personable and justifiably proud of his shop, their work, and his long history there. He showed me around and explained the powder coating process in detail. Fascinating. I saw other antiques there as well as detailed industry pieces. In the end, my bedframe turned out beautifully and at a fair price. Text communication was a little loose at times but that was a minor inconvenience. Went first to Gilbert Spray but they sucked. I then went to Fidel and his team at Spray Technology to clean up my propane tank for my RV. The work they did was ridiculously thorough and went above and beyond. I have no hesitation on them doing very high quality work at a very reasonable rate. Joe is a nice guy and welcomes one off jobs for the every day private party (though he also does work for local tech companies). I had a set of 18" wheels powdercoated here for a reasonable price. The work was good and the service was friendly and delivered on time. Items were well packaged and prepped for delivery when I picked them up. $125 minimum but I saw everything from bike frames, wheelie bars, wheels, large gates and tech components in the shop so they do have experience doing just about everything. Before I even began welding my pieces together I had decided to go with a bright pink powder coat (I'm classy). I called up Spray Technology and spoke with Joe about my options. I had a suspicion that he would be appalled by my selection but he was more than happy to help. Turns out that they have several pink hues to offer. Being the over achiever that I am, I organized a trip to bring down several pieces from other students. Each decided to go with a separate color so I knew the fee would be a bit high. Fortunately Joe was kind enough to take pity on a group of broke grad students and offered a more reasonable price. The pieces came out beautifully and I was absolutely overjoyed with my cran raspberry selection. Joe and Antonio were incredibly helpful and always happy to go in the back and search their stock for a certain color. As Chet mentioned, they do not take credit cards but they will take cash or check. I needed a rollbar for my BMW powdercoated, so I brought it down to Spray Technology to ask about it and get a quote. The guy who helped me (can't remember his name) was really nice and super helpful. He showed me some samples of different finishes and colors, helping me choose what would be best for my application. He quoted me a great price, and I decided to go for it. I assumed it would be a few days to finish, but they ended up getting it done in just about 24 hours. Really impressed with the quality of the coating and the turnaround time. I'll definitely be back, and highly recommend that anyone who need powdercoating give Spray Technology a call. read more

I'm really happy with the work Joe and his team has done on my rare and beloved exhaust muffler. There was a hole that developed during the sandblasting and he sourced the repair vendor and took care of it. There was also some blistering on the first pass off the muffler but once the hole was repaired, they stripped off all the coating and redid the entire muffler over. They definitely own up to all their faults and stand by their work. All my future ceramic coating and powder coating jobs will go here. read more

Fidel and crew offer great guidance, provide excellent results, stand behind their product. I had a set of classic reproduction wheels stripped of their factory paint out of the box, some hubcap rivets drilled out and coated flat. Flat is in some ways harder to do correctly for a final finish than gloss. The results met my high expectations. We discussed options ahead of time, was shown the process. I gave them the time they needed and they allowed me to inspect on pickup. They are pricier than other places up the bay, but in my opinion the results merits what they charge. I will be bringing more work and encourage enthusiasts looking for the best results to try ST and see. read more

I gave them another shot on another saw and it was an unmitigated disaster. They bead blasted the mating surfaces for the bearings and roller carriage and powder coated the mating surface for the yoke and roller carriage on my once valuable 1955 Radial Arm Saw. Basically, whoever works for them didn't know not to bead blast and coat what were obviously mating surfaces on a machine surfaces ground to very tight tolerances. I got the sense they didn't want my business any more. Fair enough. read more

We have a 100-year old house, with heating via steam radiators. They get rusted, and the paint flakes off. I took three radiators to these guys last year, and got them blast-cleaned and powder-coated. We've used these three now for a year, and they still look great and work fine. I fabricated a mild steel adapter bracket for an air flow sensor conversion on an old BMW, and it was to be installed in a modified OEM air filter housing. In order to make the adapter look like it belonged there, it needed to have a very slightly textured satin black finish. I drove over and looked through Joe's samples and found what looked like a good candidate. The results were great. The adapter had a number of very tight corners and concave features, but the powder coating found its way into all of them. The finish was a surprisingly good match to the plastic of the air filter housing, and the whole assembly looks as close to OEM as I could have hoped. Additionally, they must have done a good job bead-blasting the part because I had left some rough areas on the adapter where welds were ground down, but none of it showed through on the coating. Price and turn-around time were good too, so overall I recommend Spray Technology. read more

Antonio and Team at Spray Technologies, you saved my backside. Short story, I messed up the $XXXX Wolf Range by dumping a gallon of oil all over it which promptly became a black sticky mess that stopped 3 of 4 burners working. I was dead! Appliance repair deemed the burners unfixable and I was looking at a $1400 repair bill. I took the burners down to Spray Technologies and they blasted them so they looked like new! Even paying special attention to the display surfaces and cleaning out the feed nozzles. It is fantastic to be shocked at the results of a job. I was taken care of by Joe the owner who immediately recognized my car parts and was even able to handle the difficult magnesium valve covers. Parts were returned to me individually wrapped and I could tell all the tapped screw holes were properly plugged during the powder coating process.
