This review is longggg overdue! Miguel is the owner of the shop and he is one of the nicest mechanics I've ever worked with. He provides great customer service, creative ideas and most importantly honest work and pricing. Brought in my 2021 4Runner TRD-Pro and he installed a Westcott roof rack, Westcott leveling kit, Westcott rear door ladder, Westcott rock sliders, ABs compressor, Black Rino wheels, Warn winch, C4 mid-bull bumper and more. I highly recommend Midnight Garage, he's a pleasure to work with.
I discovered MG via Yelp so it only seems right to pay it forward. I don't normally leave reviews... for anything.. but this time I will. When I met Miguel for the first time, I explained that I was looking for a one-stop shop for my 80. I was hesitant and skeptical at first because I've recently had some very bad experiences with hired help. Putting trust into someone so quickly was risky, but decided to take a leap of faith. Fast forward 2 months later and Miguel has definitely delivered. Thanks for answering all of my questions and providing great results. Attention to detail is hard to come by so if you're looking for it, then look no further. If you have an 80 and looking for a shop in the Bay as I was, do not hesitate. Shout out to Ralphie too. I appreciate the work you put into my LC and keeping it clean. Yes, I notice these things lol.
Midnight Garage is honestly top notch. They diagnosed wiring on my Airlift 3P system and swapped out 2 ViAir 444c compressors on my E93 BMW hardtop convertible. The air system in my trunk sits on a custom wooden layout so it needed to be handled with care. I was happy when it was returned to me IN PERFECT CONDITION, which means a lot to me! THANK YOU! BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE! List of questions I ask myself when choosing a shop: 1. Who will be working on my car? There is one too many shops who have less than qualified staff to perform the tasks required. I have had horrible experiences prior where the techs are not qualified and the shop owners value QUANTITY/VOLUME/MONEY over QUALITY of work. This is not the case at Midnight Garage. Miguel and his partner Rafael are Midnight Garage- nothing more and nothing less. This means that you if you were paying a dance studio for dance lessons, then Michael Jackson himself would be teaching you to dance. 2. Does the shop respect my time? Another thing I have noticed which really sucks is shops wasting my time. If you are going to give me a scheduled time to drop off my car, then honor it. One too many times I have dropped my car off at X time only to have it sit there for hours or a day before it's actually worked on. This is not the case at Midnight Garage. Miguel reserved my time so that MY CAR IS THE ONLY CAR being worked on at the given time. No mumbo jumbo unorganized staff running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to meet deadlines and rushing their work, which in turn causes mistakes! Midnight Garage is 1 car and 1 customer = exclusivity and respect of your time. 3. Is the mechanic professional? From the 1st time I spoke to Miguel on the phone, I knew I had stumbled across someone who knew what they were talking about. He spoke to me with respect, was knowledgeable and most importantly, was passionate about being a master of his craft. If you have ever heard the saying: "Do what you love and you'll never work another day in your life". Miguel is the definition of the preceding quote meaning that he loves what he does as opposed to someone that just does their job for a paycheck. There is an enormous difference when someone touches your car and doesn't really care versus someone like Miguel who treats it like its his own. The results speak for themselves. 4. Is the shops pricing competitive or outrageous? There is nothing worse than shop who charges an arm and a leg AND STILL CAN'T GET IT RIGHT. Usually, one would think: "You get what you pay for". Or "Good help ain't cheap, and cheap help ain't good". Think again. Miguel was very reasonably priced and the quality of work was top tier. I hate it when I am paying outrageous hourly rates and getting my car back with a new scratch or some crap like that. 5. Does the shop stand behind their work? This is a crucial one for me since I supplied my own parts. A lot of shops out there will not let you supply your own parts because they are too lazy to possibly become the middle man if a part is faulty. Miguel told me to contact him if anything went wrong meaning he stands behind his work, honors what he does, and takes pride in honing his skill. I almost didn't choose Midnight Garage because the shop that referred me to them said they mainly work on classics and trucks, but that all changed the second I talked on the phone with Miguel. So for all of you out there that need any air suspension work that is NOT a classic or truck, do not hesitate to come here, for Miguel did a stellar job! The fact that his work is not limited to classics and trucks only speaks volume of how articulate Miguel is. Thank you my boi!!!!
The MOST HONEST car shop I have ever been to, HANDS DOWN. I contacted multiple car shops about the prices to add suspensions and lip splitter and Midnight Garage, the owner Miguel, has been extremely nice, attentive, and honest. And you will never come across another owner that's honest with his work and prices. As a woman, I always encounter men who LOVES to rank up the prices when asking about cars. Miguel is actually reasonable and very informative, he KNOWS what he's doing. I can't stress it enough! I officially found a car shop where I can come to comfortably without having to feel ripped off or anything. He obviously has a loving passion for cars and it isn't always about scamming people off their money and it shows. Everybody who is looking for some real nice work, YOU MUST CONTACT MIGUEL.
I was shopping around the Bay Area for a garage that would be able to install a suspension kit and wheels on my 4Runner. I sent out requests for quotes via Yelp and got several estimates from different businesses. One place that stood out above the 10+ shops was Midnight Garage, a clear five star business. Please allow me to explain why. Miguel, the owner of Midnight Garage, was extremely personable, knowledgeable, and helpful in answering all of my questions regarding the suspension/wheels job. He went above and beyond and shared his previous work as examples to make sure he understood exactly what I wanted. That's one star for being so responsive. Miguel then proceeded to give me the best quote out of all the businesses. Not only that but he was able to set a tentative date for us to meet so he could work on my car. I say tentative because I was still waiting for my parts to be delivered to me. He was patient and communicative in letting me know that he still had me in mind. That's two stars for amazing customer service. On the day of, Miguel took my car in the morning (7AM) and proceeded to work on it right away. He gave me an estimate of when my car would be ready, which was even faster than I had expected. I definitely appreciated the timeline he gave me and especially his hard work in meeting that time. That's three stars. When I came back to Midnight Garage to pick up my car, I was blown the heck away. Miguel literally transformed my vehicle into my dream 4Runner. He is a MASTER at what he does, which is being able to take anyone's car to the next level. This makes sense since before opening Midnight Garage, he was the lead tech at a very popular car shop. That's four stars for the masterful work, and treating my car like it was his own. The fifth and final star is for Miguel being a standup guy. Super friendly, genuine, honest, and hard-working. I truly felt that he had my best interest in mind while he worked on my car. When I picked his brain, he took the time to answer my questions and enlighten me. Anyone who speaks to Miguel can immediately tell that he loves what he does and that passion is matched by his integrity as a businessman. Kudos to Midnight Garage for being, what I believe, is the best car shop in the entire state of California. Yes, there may be shops who can get the job done but not all can give such a competitive price, have integrity, be so timely, and be just an overall asset to the community. Recommended to this shop, and absolutely blown away. Diamond in the rough. Miguel is professional, friendly, and knowledgable. Got some new suspension and wheels installed, and he did a fantastic job. He was able to get it done in half the time he estimated, and even found me an amazing deal on a set of tires, which he passed the savings on to me. His prices are extremely competitive, especially when compared to similar shops on the East Bay. While I live on the Peninsula side of the Bay, Miguel has earned a new customer, and I will definitely be taking my vehicles to him for future mods.
This is my second time using Midnight garage for my 4runner. The first time was good with no issues, unfortunately this time around was not as good. I really wanted to leave a 5 star review but I have to be honest in hopes that it'll make the owner better for future customers. I requested Miguel's services to install a front bumper, lift kit, new tires, light bar, diff breather kit, and new wheels on my 21' 4runner. I'll list the cons first. Cons: Communication was difficult at times, long periods would go without hearing back from questions or requests. Not the biggest problem but communication is key with customers. Timing was a bigger problem for me, we agreed on a drop off date of Thursday with a Friday afternoon pick up. Upon arriving Thursday I was informed the pick up would have to be Saturday afternoon. Things happen so I understand. However, it was further delayed to 6pm that Saturday due to Miguel not having started the work until the day of. That means my car sat there 2 days while I could have used it back home since it was not being worked on. Again, communication. Most of the work was good, but after inspecting it further after pick up, I noticed a couple flaws, one being a cut on my bumper that is visible beyond where it needed to be cut. I'll attach a pic. While it may not be a huge deal, I'm paying a decent amount of money so it's fair to expect a better outcome. I now have to look at this imperfection every time I walk past my car. The trim that outlines the bumper cut is uneven on the sides so it leads me to believe the cut isn't equal, so I will have to pull off the bumper and trim and see what is underneath. I also requested Miguel to save the front valance since I had someone willing to buy it, he cut it off instead. Granted he discounted the price I intended to sale it for so I appreciate him making it right. I also requested my fenders not be cut for tire fitment. My wife pointed out that they were in fact cut, also very rough and uneven lines. I tested my light bar which is installed on the bumper and it seems to point down to the ground, so I don't think Miguel checked the alignment. After looking at it more, it does appear to be slightly tilted down so I'll have to remove the bumper regardless to take care of it. Pros: Lift is solid, appears level with a good alignment. Miguel did express some concern about the alignment not being perfect but so far it has been good to us. Diff kit appears to be installed flawlessly. Tire and wheels are good to go. Overall I like Miguel and wish him well in his business, but considering how much I paid, I would have expected better service. I feel like he rushed my project. I can't say I'll come back based on this experience but perhaps we can all take it as a learning experience.
Miguel runs a great shop. He takes the time to answer your questions and doesn't talk down on you if you don't know your stuff. You can tell he's passionate about what he does. Miguel will make suggestions based on what you're looking for, and not once did I ever feel pressured to buy something from him or upgrade to a more expensive suspension kit. His component prices are fair and honestly I felt very lucky to find this shop. I got the Bilstein 5100s for the front and rear with OME rear springs and SPC UCAs for my 5th gen 4Runner. The install process was quick and easy and Miguel had me come back after 500 miles for a check to make sure everything was good with the new suspension components. The car came out looking great. He's a one-man shop, so be patient when you try to get a hold of him. But when you do make contact, I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointment with the service and professionalism. I hope Miguel stays in business for a long time, because he will be my go-to shop for my 4Runner.
HANDS DOWN THE BEST PLACE IN FREMONT... Miguel and his team are incredible, honest,humble, reliable. I can't find enough great things to say about them. I brought my Tesla Model 3 Performance to upgrade my suspension. They installed coil overs, break rotors, stainless steel break lines, break master cylinder, and rear camber arms. I got quotes from other two shops and he was half the price from the other quotes. I am super happy with they quality and professional work. They have earned my trust and business for my future automotive needs. If you are looking for a honest and reliable shop, look no further. 100% recommended Miguel is the man!
Miguel is a very professional and friendly guy who does first rate work for your all your automotive needs. I am impressed with his workmanship and cleanliness with all electrical work he has done for my 4Runner. He even helped me to troubleshoot a circuit problem for my compressor and switch without hesitation and nailed the problem down switftly. I would not hesitate to bring my vehicle in to his shop for work and highly recommend you bring in yours for any modification or installation needs.
Miguel is great! Added a custom hood to my Bronco. Took care of ordering it, fitting, working with paint shop to color match, and making sure everything was perfect. Also spent some time showing me his own Bronco and gave lots of ideas. Second project was to add an onboard ARB air compressor and run tubes to all wheel wells. Really convenient to quickly air up all tires. Very easy to work with and treats you like a number 1 customer.

Miguel is amazing, very nice and honest. Every time I drop by the shop I'm amazed at the vehicles he is working on. From engine swaps on restored classics to some Modern day track nightmares, it's always fun to drop by and see why he's doing. He does fantastic work as well. Had a bunch of first round odds and ends done, Miguel was professional, speedy and knowledgeable. Definitely going back when it's time to do the full titanium exhaust system. read more

I had some aftermarket springs and shocks installed here. Miguel was always responsive and professional. Super nice and chill dude, knows his stuff. He had it done in the same day and his prices cannot be beat. Thinking of other mods and will definitely hit this shop up again. read more

First and foremost- Miguel is awesome. I found Miguel through yelp and took a chance. Mycar had been giving alignment issues and I needed someone to check the spring install(done by another shop). Not only did Miguel find a left over tool inside my car (wtf) but he also found the spring slipped through rubber grommet and wasn't sitting even. He fixed all of it and at a price I felt like I was robbing him. Did I mention he did this on the weekend when they're typically closed? Absolute stud. Visit this shop for all your needs. Miguel's team is great, friendly and not to mention great quality of the work. I've been here 3 times and have been super satisfied with their work/craftsmanship. The only thing is that don't expect for a call back or response right away. Definitely 5-Star for the quality of work and for their price however, customer communication certainly needs improvement. read more

I reached out through Yelp to several shops to perform an aftermarket spring install on my Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Most shops either didn't respond or were charging an exorbitant amount because the car is foreign. Even though the install is similar to most cars. (3 bolts on top of shock and 2 at bottom) Midnight Garage got back to me with a reasonable quote and we scheduled a time to bring my car in. Everything was straight forward and you can tell by the variety of cars there that they are good at what they do. I got my car back around the time they promised and they even sent me the invoice by email and paid it online. Super convenient! When I picked up the car, they provided recommendations and made sure to answer any questions I had. Excellent service and great people! I will look to them for more automotive work. read more

Miguel with Midnight Garage is great! He provided great customer service with quick responses via yelp messenger, notifying me for any earlier accommodation, and overall installation of my Teraflex lift kit with Falcon Shocks for my 2015 Wrangler Unlimited. After getting my rig back, Miguel gave me his honest suggested maintenance concerns to be aware of along with pictures to show. I first reached out to Miguel to inquire about getting a 2" front level and 3" rear blocks installed on my 2018 F-150. I had a couple specific questions/concerns about the install process, and out of all the shops I asked, he gave me the most straight-forward, honest answer, which I appreciated. Miguel was very flexible in working with my schedule to find a time I could bring my truck in, and on the day, he completed the install within the amount of time he estimated. Upon picking up my truck, I was extremely satisfied with his quality of work and attention to detail. Miguel is very passionate about what he does and showed me a couple other projects he had going on, which were cool to see. I'll definitely be coming back to Miguel in the future. read more

I am so glad I found Miguel! I can't emphasize enough how great he is. He is extremely informative and has the best customer service. I know I'm going to be a customer for years to come with Midnight Garage. Being a woman and trying to get the right information and quote from any auto shop can sometimes be daunting. But at no point EVER did I feel like that when talking to Miguel. I bought a new 2020 Ram and I knew I wanted a suspension lift and tires/wheels. Since it is a new truck I was very particular about who worked on it. I didn't know much about offroad customization. I checked out Bay Area shops and even shops in the Central Valley. Midnight Garage seemed to be a great new shop. I sent out a price quote request blast for suspension lift and wheels/tires. Miguel reached back to me within a couple of hours and later so did a few other shops. He explained some of the options. I went with a 6inch suspension lift, Fuel Vapors 20s and Nitto Ridge Grapplers 37s. I asked if he could install exhaust. He does so he explained the different options. I went with Magnaflow because I wanted a deeper sound not necessarily a louder sound. His turn around time is great. Took him a couple of days to do all the work. Everything came out amazing. His installation is clean and detailed. He was available through Yelp messenger, text or phone calls throughout the whole process. If you are considering a modification on you truck I highly recommend Midnight Garage. read more

Miguel who is Owner/Operator of the Garage is awesome! Super knowledgeable and is upfront with suggestions, quality and has the best prices in the bay area! He went through different options for suspension upgrades for my 21' Toyota Tacoma and doesn't try to upsell you on something you don't need. Very friendly, reliable and great quality of work and takes pride in his Craft. My Steering and Suspension was all shot to hell. I went on Yelp and luckily found Midnight Garage, and Miguel a few blocks away from my house. I took my car in for a quote, Half an Hour before he closed. When I arrived; He greeted me very professionally and friendly. He immediately pin pointed the issue within in minutes. He gave me a quote with options and recommendations without being pushy and over selling me on parts. The next morning I dropped off my car at his shop to be worked on. Let me tell you, Miguel lives up to his name and reputation. He had my car fixed within a few hours. I hadn't even taken my lunch break at work when he called and told me my car was ready. What he quoted is what I paid! No surprises and no hustle. A sign that he knows his stuff. I highly recommend this shop and Miguel. I came across Midnight Garage on Yelp and figured I give them a call to install my Eibach pro lift kit. Miguel answered and was very professional and knowledgeable about the install for Eibach kits. He even quoted me the best price after I called 4 other places. He was able to schedule me within 2 weeks and even ordered me new tires and gave me multiple options to choose from. All said and done he did an amazing job and did it very quick. I got my truck back within 9 hours. The truck rides and looks great. I highly recommend Midnight Garage for any custom work. read more
