We are thrilled with our remodeled bathroom, thanks to Rich Carlson of RMC Home Improvements. We will definitely call on RMC when we're ready to remodel again and I highly recommend Rich for his reliability, trustworthy crew, high quality workmanship, excellent judgement, and fair prices.
We interviewed three firms before selecting RMC. Rich was clearly the best fit for what we had in mind, so I was confident we would select him even before receiving his reasonable proposal. While we had to wait for his availability, he kept us on track to buy the fixtures and was readily available to answer questions or provide specific instructions on plumbing, electrical, and paint selections.
He was ready to start exactly when he had proposed months earlier. He had each day and activity scheduled carefully among his crew of excellent craftsmen. The old room was destructed in one day and we were on our way. The job was finished slightly quicker than promised, despite some unexpected complications.
Rich consulted with us on choices of vanity / countertops, lighting, medicine cabinets, tub and shower and tile / paint. We had the freedom to select according to our taste but would often consult with him before the purchase to ensure it was the right choice.
His tile expert Victor (and son) did a great job with the tile we selected from Rich's recommended source, Siena Tile. When the shower glass provider came to measure, he reported the base measurement was perfectly accurate and remarked that Rich's jobs always had that accuracy, unlike the other jobs he would be measuring that day.
The lead painter Juan executed three colors of paint perfectly and carefully managed a seamless transition to the adjoining room which was not being painted.
During the job, there were times when our family members had to leave the crew alone in the house, and depended on them to lock up when done. We felt very comfortable with this arrangement and knew that Rich and his team were honest and dependable people.
I will post pics showing "before" and "after" now that all is done. We love the higher (standard) counters, more storage space and modern look to the vanities. Rich had no trouble installing new medicine cabinets electronically equipped for charging devices and a variety of internal and external lighting. We added a towel warmer that Rich hard-wired, to warm before shower and dry afterwards. We finally get to use our whirlpool tub now that it's sized appropriately. We found this tub at D&M Kitchen and Bath Supply Inc. in Livermore, who were very helpful and had good prices. Rich and team upgraded the necessary wiring amperage. We purchased the other pluming fixtures at Valley Plumbing Home Center in Pleasanton, a much better experience vs. online or big box stores. The tile and shower make for a beautiful combination and we're so much more comfortable in our new roomy shower space.
We couldn't be more satisfied. While it's new and I don't have or expect any problems, I know that if something comes up, Rich will stand behind his work. I have no hesitation heartily recommending him, except that it might make him even more in demand than he already is, and my next project might have to wait longer. read more
