I paid him $9,500 as part of an agreed flat rate contract of $14,000. Despite this, the project remains largely incomplete. Mr. Garcia has only shown up to work approximately three days over the past 50+ days. When questioned, he claimed that I had given him 'indefinite time' to complete the work. This is a misrepresentation. I only ever expressed that I preferred quality over rushing; I never waived timely completion. In fact, I have followed up with him multiple times, requesting a realistic timeline and commitment, which he failed to provide. Additionally, though the contract was for a flat rate, he repeatedly charged me separately for materials--despite the fact that materials were not excluded in the flat-rate agreement and I never agreed to a cost-plus model. I estimate that only around $1,500 worth of work has been completed. I have asked for either completion of the project or a refund of the unearned portion, which amounts to at least $8,000. He has not cooperated, and his communications have been vague or dismissive. Most recently, he said he 'needs some mental space' and is 'off until Monday,' with no follow-through. Now, he confirmed to me that he is no longer interested to complete the project and he is not going to refund the money. When he needs money, he was waiting for 2 hrs outside my home when I am busy in meetings, confirming that he will deliver the project and taking the cheques with a smile. In the end, I felt taken advantage of.

There is a list of things that we are owed for, but to provide a very specific example - Andrew collected $2950.00 upfront to secure a quartz countertop slab. He received this money on Day 1 of the project, back in April of 2025. He never purchased the slab, he admitted to our detective that he never purchased our slab, and when asked repeatedly to return the money he did not. Period. These are the objective facts. Money taken, product/service not provided, money not returned. This was back in APRIL so clearly he has had an adequate window of time to make things right but he's chosen not to. In fact, after my last review, he sent me about 40 profane and threatening text messages, so its safe to say at this point that he's not going to return the money that he stole and he refuses to take accountability for his actions. Andrew will take advantage of whomever will let him, and this example alone supports that - please make sure he doesnt take advantage of you. I encourage anyone that has been wronged by Andrew to ignore his threats, and 1) file in small claims court, 2) contact detective John Lopez (info below), 3) post a review of your experience everywhere you can, and 4) message me on Yelp so that we can work on restitution together.

I've used Ball Brothers Painting Services since 2017 and I am still using them in 2025 (for decks, exterior and interior painting, for custom cabinets resulting in a beautiful finish, and for fine finishes on exterior doors). I've used them during major remodels and between renters when I rent our guest cottage. I started using them when I realized that my DIY work did not cut the mustard. Their response time is excellent. My calls are returned same day with an on-site bid evaluation quickly scheduled. Their new employees are apprenticed with seasoned painters. Their employees tend to be happy and stick around from job to job. They work quietly when I am working from home and clean up the job site at the end of each day. I think A sign of a good painter is their ability to fix mistakes and flaws left by DIY crews (that would be me) and construction crews (they calk, spackle, putty, float ...) Their edge work is admirable and skill even enviable (says the DIY'er). Their work is supervised and audited for quality by one of the Ball Brothers before the job is declared finished. They always put in that extra effort which pleases me (because I'm picky but don't like to nag). Ball Brothers have reasonable pricing and serve Austin, Buda, San Marcos, Dripping Springs, Blanco, Wimberley. Thank goodness because I just moved from Wimberley to Austin and I would use no other. We hired Luis who owns River City Fabricators in April to replace our countertops in the kitchen and two bathrooms plus replace our kitchen and bathroom backsplash. He told us 3 days to complete. It took 9 and job was not completed. He showed up late everyday but day one. Always left mid day for at least two hours. He asked for a draw a few days in which was not in the contract. He said it was a tear out and redo, the work was way below industry standard. Backsplash looks like a drunk toddler installed it. Very visible seams in countertops with an island piece measured and cut wrong. Big chip in quartz made by his worker. Damaged our marble in primary bathroom. Smeared grout and sealant on walls. Damaged our cabinets and walls. We have given Luis 7 months to make this right. Originally, he agreed to correct his botched work and fix things that looked bad. 7 months have gone by and we get nothing but dates he doesn't show up and excuses. He is very rude to me in communication. Our money was wasted on this. No value to work. Asked me to make a list of what he needed to fix so we can sign it and move forward. Now he refuses because he knows he is in the wrong. He emailed me today saying it's just a few crooked tiles, that's it. He is not happy we are calling him out on his terrible work.
